Good advise next time put a rope across the whole pond and fix each end and drape the rope over the boat and you can pull yourself back and forth where you need to be and keeps you from moving all around plus you can measure and mark the rope

If we had run some guidelines across the pond, and Deb pulled the boat from shore while I spread out the back, the spreader could have worked well. But we thought I could paddle around and spread evenly but the wind was too pushing the boat too much. We'll have a better plan for the 2nd application! Thanks for both comments! Brad&Deb

I used Damit on my leaky red clay pond... and it worked! I also broadcast it by hand on a very calm day (seed-spreader was useless). It takes a few hours for the product to start sinking. Using a hose (or pump) you can gently spray the surface of the dam to help the polymer to start sinking if the wind picks up. Looks like you've done everything right, well done!

I know that in another video, you had talked about stocking the pond with fish. Once you get the leak fixed, check with your State's Fish & Wildlife department. I don't know about Florida, but in Oklahoma, the Department of Wildlife will stock your pond with fish for free on the condition that *if* you let anyone fish in the pond, you can't charge them to fish it. If Florida won't do that, then they should at least be able to point you to a few sources for stocking the pond.
Also, consider the fact that your pond gets full enough at times for water to back out of the pond through the culverts. That's a potential escape route for fish in your pond. You'll need to put some sort of a screen over the culverts to prevent that.

    • @PineyGroveHomestead
