I love how you go slow and explain everything.
I like your longer tutorials because they show more details. I would’ve never thought of using dish mats to make a tote bag! How clever and economical! Thank you! Keep those projects coming!
I go to a cancer appt each month and I notice most chemo patients carry a bag of stuff as they will be there for awhile. This would fit the bill to take socks, fleece lap cover, sweater, tablet, earbuds, water bottle etc. Sometimes backpacks put pressure on the wrong spot or are too hard to manipulate...a bag like this in a beautiful color or design...perfect. Make one, donate one. What a lovely gift! Thank you...glad I found your channel.
@sissuesace thank you for this wonderful idea!
Beautiful idea as I am omw to Dollar Tree🤭
That's a terrific idea! Also, I send prayers for your health.
Oh my gosh I made one with a baby machine with no backstitch! You are so much fun!
You could sew velcro to be able to close it if needed. Or a button with a scrap material rolled or a tiny strap to hook around the button. I think it would be a great bag for a baby bottle diaper wipes for a quick trip to the store. What about a bag for a change of clothes for the park or toddler or child activity.
Perfect for library trips!
Totally!
I loved your video, I’ll be watching more after I leave this message. Don’t stop the humming, singing and laughing, like you said there are no quilt/sewing police. Thank you for such and easy bag tutorial!! Keep up the great work there are so many of us who appreciate what you do!!
Love it and I love how you take it slow and explain and on a side note you have the most beautiful blue eyes
Thank you so much!!
So cute! I would love to see more of these types of videos! You explain things very well as you go, and they are short enough for me to watch while I’m eating breakfast and plan my day.
Love this video! You don’t know how many others’ 34:19 I’ve watched and felt I was missing something. This is perfect. I would add that some might want to iron the little open area in the lining so that their 1/4” seam allowance is straight and then sewable, but great instructions!
love your market bag. Our Dollar Tree here in NH has ugly fat quarters and I have only found the mats once or twice. Thanks for the tutorial.
I am in NH and i agree.
Just discovered you! First, you are absolutely adorable and gorgeous and such a sweet spirit ❤ 2nd you are a very pleasant and gentle teacher. Kindness matters! 3rd you have a very pleasant and cheerful voice and are easy to listen to.
Thank you so much!!
I absolutely love this slower that way I don't have to keep going back thank you so much
Glad you enjoy it!
I'm going to try and sew 4 of the drying mats together and see how lg. a bag I get. These would be great for the Sewing Group I attend at the Peitz Cancer House Where I live. Kinda of a Thank You for there support and fun times at the meetings.
You have an awesome personality and I enjoyed the tutorial . Thanks for no music, as nice to hear your instructions
What a great little project! I only just found your channel because I saw a post of yours on FB, I think🤔or maybe it was Instagram🤷🏻♀️So glad I found you. You've got great fun ideas. And ... keep singing 🎶🎉I love the joy🩷
Today is the first time I found you. What fun! I've been sewing a Long time and do lots of fun things. Your video was fun to watch. I'm going to make a knitting/crochet bag using your ideas.
Awesome! Thank you!
This is amazing. Thank you so much for sharing. I'm going to give this a try. Have an awesome weekend. ❤🎉
Thank you! You too!
Beautiful bag. I would use it for church. Use it for my Bible and notebook. My iPad. I would put a small strap and button or snap to close it. Or if you’re good with zippers . Put that in. I’ve been only watching a couple of time but the bags you have made are terrific. I would like to try one before summer is over.
I'm so glad I found your page! I like the full tutorial.
Thank you so much!
❤❤thanks for the tutorial and maybea tutorial how to make a tote bag for the summer with pockets??😊😊
I just watched a tutorial you did on the placemat pouch. so, I went to the dollar store and bought some supplies except the mesh bag as I have a large selection of zippers. then I saw this tutorial so I thought I would make this as well. thank you for the tutorials. I bought the same drain mats as you are using in this tutorial. I also bought some dish towels.
That is awesome!
Headbands for handles - brilliant idea!! I’ve been sewing for 10 years and never thought of that ❤🎉
You are amazing ! I have only just 'discovered ' you this morning. You are absolutely fantastic in personality and instruction. I love just listening to you and NOT some annoying music in the background.
I can not find ANY negativity in your demeanor or instructions.Thank you ... I am now a devoted subscriber.

Fun video! Love your positive attitude. And your do it your way mantra. Please be sure to teach (especially newbies) to close their rotary cutter for safety reasons.
Adorable! You’re a lot of fun to watch.
Oh thank you!
I’m 73 and 3/4 😂 🪡🧵😊
I love your teaching and your videos are wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
You are so welcome!
Love this! I will definitely make some of these for gifts! Thank you so much for this tutorial!
You are so welcome!
Our Dollar Tree now carries packs of iron-on interfacing that you could use in your straps. This is a great idea.
I would add some pockets on the inside with the extra lining.i love this bag.
Hi Chelsea I just watched your honeybee market bag video and I love it. I am so excited. I just found you. I’m looking forward to watching your other videos and following you from today forward here in Fort Worth ❤
Yay! Thank you!
Your video popped up in my feed and I love simple practical projects and you have a very friendly and supportive way of teaching. These bags would be perfect for trips to the library! The extra thickness of the mats would help protect the books but also be strong for the weight of them. I wish I had one of these for each of my kids when they were younger. I will definitely be making more than one! One video and I was excited to subscribe! 🤩
Wow, thank you!
Great tutorial
Glad you think so!
You are an excellent teacher. I am impressed with you and I love the fun project.
What great, easy visual instructions. Gonna start watching you.
Great job and sew cute!! I hope to find the bee dish mat. I would love it if you’d do a TH-cam video of the little crossbody bag!❤

You make me feel so confident that I can do this ❤ and you make me happy watching you THANK YOU !
Thank you for showing the steps 😊
When I use the zipper out of the laundry mesh bag. I saved the mesh bag part and use it for the liner inside the bags you hang in the car for trash, on your other TH-cam video!! lol
Great idea!!
Good job !!!you look beautiful
Thank you!!
I love this!! I am going to make one of these bags. Thank you so much!!! ❤
I love your laugh and you are amazing hun. I am 70 & have been sewing since I was 13 years old I used to sew professional infant clothing for a designer many years ago. You are never too old to learn something new no matter what it is. I have my hands in so many things but you have my mind whirling now I love Dollar Tree that is where I buy my crafts so I will be hitting ours here and buying up what they have if there is any left lol.
That is awesome!
It would be perfect to use when you go to the library
Absolutely!
You are great for beginners.
Thank you!
I absolutely love this video!❤
Thank you so much!!

Very nice bag....I appreciate your creativity in using different items to sew things.
This is especially true if you find a print you like.
Thanks for sharing and yes more videos like this
Love your video. I’m totally new and love your teaching 🤗🥰
Love your channel thank you for sharing 😊🤗🪡🧵❤️
You are so welcome!
Love the full length video! Thanks for doing this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love this! No quilting police! LOL! thank you, just found you and subscribed. I love sewing bags but haven't tackled the inside strap. So easy and so cute. thanks so much! I'll be watching your other videos soon! Have a great day! victoria
Great instructions 👍🏼 thank you ☺️
The only thing I’d consider doing differently is reinforcing the handles as they’re attached to the bag.
Takes no time at all to fill with goodies & be heavy!
Loved this. I am self taught and have learned something I didn’t even realize I didn’t know until you mentioned it. You are a great teacher.
When I make straps out of fabric for bags, I reinforce the straps with a piece of waist band elastic. It doesn’t curl, it’s sturdy and I usually have some because I buy it in bulk.
What an awesome idea!
Thank you for the longer tutorial.
I meant every word!!!❤❤❤
This was amazing TFS xoxo
I made a cover fir my cricut no real measurements lol and ones for my printers that need to be redone lol a tutorial for printer covers please
Cute!!
Hi there! I would have never thought of doing tote bags using Dollar Store stuff - Thank you for the idea! P.S. if you turn your camera to landscape mode, I think your videos would look nicer :)
I carry heavy market bags. I am afraid the straps would not hold for long. Can you do a video on putting on straps that go all the way around for more support?
Try my duffle pattern!
I bet this will work!
th-cam.com/video/eY4KjoGFWXA/w-d-xo.html
How about an easy pair of pants loose & baggy for the beach or pool. Something EASY❤
Did you make your dress? It's so pretty ❤
This mat replaces goam interfacing which is easier and more cost effective
I meant foam..sorry
Yarn work, crocheting or knitting.
Great video. Can this bag be reversable?
Please tell me where you got your ironing board. I NEED one like that. 😊
What type of pressing mat do you have? I want to buy one, but not sure what to buy.
I looked online at sewing parts online for the Metz needle book but couldn’t find it. Could you tell me exactly where to find it please?
Its SCHMETZ. They have a small printed booklet. I’ve seen them free at Joann’s Fabric in the past. Their website has a PDF you can download as well.
💕😍 🧵 Fabulous! Thank you SO much Chelsea for a fun, manageable project that comes together quickly. I AM SO TIRED of the 18-step videos that require $30 worth of “Buy This in the Link” stuff….they are intimidating and expensive and kill a lot of joy.
I’m a quilter who learned from library books long ago and I can do tough projects but sometimes I just want to sew something fun and be done with it.
You’re the teacher I WISH I had had when I started sewing long ago.
Blessings!!!!
I'm 77 and have sewn like this for YEARS... I sew every day in retirement and wish that more people would find the joy and peace that can come with crafting and quilting... TY for bring this to the foreground... I hope more young people find this and realize that "perfect" does not exist! Just have fun and grown with it!
Hi, just found your channel and enjoyed you so much! Love your bag, I’m on a bag kick😂 right now. So I’m going to DH to buy some dish drying mats and get started! Thanks
I found this video and Love the tutorial! Thanks for your comment 🌷💕
Thank you Barbara, I have wanted to sew for years but had no time as was working 5-6 days. Took a year off work and starting to sew but fond it intimidating. But will keep doing baby steps😊
Thank you for your practical helpful and informative clip. So 👍 good😊
For the last nearly 10 years I've been severely disabled can barely walk or do anything anymore I'm just turned 43 I think if I hadn't had crafting and my kids I wud have give so ages ago I crochet do card crafting jewellery and started sewing aug 2023
I’ve never commented on a video before but I just wanted to tell you that you are a natural teacher. I usually fast forward through videos and this time I watched the entire video. Great job!
Wow, thank you! I appreciate your kind words!
Me too!
I am new to your channel and happy to have found it. I have sewn for almost 50 years. I love your commentary as you sew. The information about needles and stitch length is seldom mentioned but can make such a difference in the end product. Another economical fabric source is old sheets or pillow cases for lining. Thanks for your time and willingness to share. If you are new to sewing or have been sewing for years, you can always learn new techniques and tips.😊
34:19 same here!! I don’t usually watch all the video but after spending the last little bit learning how to make the bag, I feel like I’ve had an afternoon visit with a good friend!!
You’re a natural teacher! So pleasant! Perfect remarks!
Thank you-also, I stated keeping bees a few years ago (which I love!), so as it happens, the bag you made caught my attention!
This turned out so cute. Thanks for sharing. You have a great cadence for teaching and explaining how to sew in an encouraging way that I really like. ❤
Thank you so much!
I can't believe you have less than 10k subscribers on here. You are a natural teacher and do such fun projects.
Thank you! 😊
I agree!
I agree too I have learned so much from your videos
I added!
💯 % AGREE 😊
Glad I found you Chelsea you are an awesome teacher and love love love your positive attitude!! We need more Chelsea in the world ❤God bless you !!
Please more easy sew along, real time with talking about exactly what you are doing!!! This is so helpful and not many people make these!!! I’ll tell everyone to watch!!!
Thank you, you go slow enough to understand everything. ❤
Happy to help!
A half hour well spent. Thank you.
Enjoyed this video and will be looking forward to seeing more of your projects.
I don’t sew. At all. BUT! This video was in my feed and I watched it and I enjoyed it! I actually have my Grandmother’s Singer sewing machine from the 40’s. You have given me the confidence that I might just try one of these! Thanks for the tutorial and inspiration. You’re easy to learn from, have a lovely voice, bubbly personality and remind me of my beautiful best friend when I was a kid.
Please share your finished product. Don’t forget, “perfect” does not exist! Best of luck to you!🙂
Wow!! I hope you do try it one day
Treasure that machine. It’s a high value item
Great tutorial, Chelsea! Your Home Ec teacher really must have been a good influence on you. I've been sewing for years and still learning more from you. Can't believe yet that I made a duffle bag and a market bag out of a dish drain mat. Who'd a thought huh? Great ideas! Keep the real-time videos coming...love them all! You're a real treasure to all and a beautiful girl, inside and out! ❤❤
Bible 'n' snack bag. Tablet/iPad bag. Produce bag....
Love this! And also I don’t see a problem with singing! What do you always say to us- it’s your world I’m just living in it!!!! Sing your heart out girlfriend!
😂😂😂 I guess it does go both ways!
Thank you ssoooo much for doing this. I have $5.00, so I can make me a handbag. Or tote bag or whatever I choose to use it for. I really appreciate your help and tutorial. Amazing. ❤
You are so welcome!
I have made 3 of these bags this weekend. My friends are loving them. Each one I added something different to it… this has brought me sew much joy. My husband said I have not seen you sew this much. I showed him your TH-cam page and said That’s my Girl! She got me started sewing again! Thank you Chelsea!
Awww I love this!! Thanks for sharing!!!
You are awesome and the bag is so darning. I’m a 68 disabled woman that has not sewed in a long time, and you just gave me Christmas gift ideas for my4 daughter and 7 granddaughter. THANK YOU 🙏🏻❤️
My son's fiancee wants to learn to sew. I got her sewing machine all tuned up & now getting things ready for her to learn the basics before she ventures out on her own. Also glad she wants to do this as it will get me back sewing again, as well as my cousin too.
Thank u sooooo much for this idea, it is great!!
♥️ 🇨🇦
I just finished my bag!!! I am so freaking proud of myself. I've only ever made pillows and blankets. Super simple rectangle or square projects. So this was completely out of my comfort zone!!! Thank you for your tutorial!!
I like this young lady with the “Betty Rubble” laugh. Good teacher. Thank you for a great idea.
😂😂😂😂
So funny. My mom says I have a Betty Ruble laugh, too! 🤣
You won me over when you said, "I iron, I don't press". I do the same. When you iron, you can block at the same time, and even out small variances. Yes I am a quilter, but I iron. Thanks for the tutorial.
I iron my fabric also and my projects come out just fine. The only time I will press is if my quilt blocks have bias seams, gotta be careful with those bias seams. Everyone should just do what works for them, after all it’s supposed to be fun, and we shouldn’t worry about what others say about our desire to iron vs pressing. 😂
I love both types of videos. The quick ones and the longer tutorials. Thank you for doing them❤
Glad you like them!
Just found this video. I’m hooked! You are such a great teacher. Heading to the dollar tree. Love the bee s
Welcome!!
