    Thank you for this video! I have a question. My fork is really loose (I have the transmission on the ground) and when I move it and doesn't spring back into place. Is this normal? I can't tell if you're moving it forward and back on your own or not. Thank you

    • @NAUS2K
      @NAUS2K  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sayyid nope that's normal, when the trans is out of the car the fork can move around freely , the slave cylinder is what pushes the fork

      Thank you for the reply! It really helped. I put my car back together and everything is going smoothly. I'm just getting a noise (sounds like the throwout bearing) when I press the clutch pedal ALL THE WAY in.

    It’s better if you put the throw out bearing on the arm before you put it back

    Hey thanks for the video very informative if u don’t mind quick question My accord 2009 5 speed i changed the engine a year ago and everything was fine but now when i tried to bleed my clutch the slave cylinder doesn’t kick back what can it be or how can i properly bleed the clutch or is my fork or anything wrong?

    • @InTheZone85
      @InTheZone85 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      anyone reading this later and still wondering, make sure you have someone press in all the way and hold the clutch pedal while you open the bleed valve, then tighten gently (doesn't need to be cranked down). Then pull up the clutch pedal.
      Repeat this process until fresh, gold brake fluid comes out in a steady stream. Pull up on the clutch pedal one last time. After it's fully bleed, push down on the pedal, it should then return up on its own
      Also make sure there's some slack (a tiny amount) in the clutch pedal. You want a very small amount of play before you feel the clutch pedal pressurize/start to disengage. If the pedal has no play then you'll kill your throwout bearing and potentially wear your clutch disk faster than you should. You don't want so much play that you can't fully disengage the clutch, preventing you from smoothly shifting gears.

    its supposed to be plastic? its safe?

    • @NAUS2K
      @NAUS2K  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it just slides along the aluminum cylinder, no forces go through the plastic surface

    • @mushy18100
      @mushy18100 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chalres Andrew: good question! Yes, That plastic from Honda Japan can withstand heat for thousands of miles. That’s why everytime you change or replace clutch kit, you also need to replace the throw out bearing as well as the release fork boot. Hope it helps.

    Can I take the fork out without dissarming the trans? I feel my clutch a little bit stiff and would like to put some grease on the pivot points. thanks.

    • @NAUS2K
      @NAUS2K  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      you probably could if you can get a tool in the small opening to undo the retaining clip, then it should just slide out, however its much easier with the trans off the car

      @@NAUS2K I have the same problem. The retaining clip is not properly attached. Can we really slide out the fork?

    • @iamteedoh
      @iamteedoh 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@balloney2175 I know this is an old question but the answer is no. You can technically get it off but it'll be damn near impossible to get the fork back to align with the throw-out bearing in order to have the fork attach to the throw-out bearing. You also then have to ensure you can snap in the center ball joint from the bell housing of the transmission into the fork through its retaining clip.
