  • 2011 BMW 328i 3.0 Oil Filter Housing Gasket and Serpentine Belt Replacement: This is a very detailed, step by step DIY instructions on how to remove and replace the oil filter housing gasket and serpentine belt on a 2011 BMW 328i 3.0. This gasket is often the cause of oil leaks that can get oil on the drive belt, which if neglected can weaken the belt, which can break and in turn cause quite a bit of damage to your BMW engine. If your BMW has an oil leak, it's best to replace this gasket now. In this demonstration, we show you how to replace the oil filter housing gasket and serpentine belt on a 2011 BMW 328i 3.0 but the process will be very similar on other BMW engines/models.

    Make sure you replace that plastic coolant hose flange. It disintegrate by 60k miles... Upgrade to aluminum aftermarket. Not worth risking pieces going into engine, radiator, or coolant pump.

    If im doing the gasket do i have to do the belt or did u do it while u were under the hood?

    • @MechanicSecrets
      @MechanicSecrets  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If your belt is oil soaked you must replace it! On some models and some engines the belt frays and can get sucked into the engine through the front crank seal and does major engine damage.

    You didn't drain the oil?

    • @MechanicSecrets
      @MechanicSecrets  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. To do this job, you don’t need to drain the oil but it is a good practice to change the oil afterwards.
