  • Hey ladies and gentle man today i am showing you how to remove and replace your oil pan gasket on your n52 powered BMW most commonly on a 328i. In the video i am using a 2011 BMW 328i but it should be about the same for any 328i that is older or maybe even newer. If the video helped you out make sure to leave a like and comment below to support the channel.

    One important thing he forgot to mention are the two bolts that connect the steering rack to the subframe. If you advance the video to 10:50 you can see that those two bolts have been removed and the steering rack is separated from the subframe.
    If you did not remove those bolts I imagine that you would stress the steering column when you pulled down on the subframe.

    • @Ahmed____
      @Ahmed____ 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Alternatively you can also disconnect the steering rack from the column at the top or bottom of the flex coupler. I normally remove the bolt at the top as it is much easier to get to, though it should be noted that BMW says to replace the bolt that connects the swivel to the steering column.

    Great video, man! Going to do mine soon; parts have been ordered. Looks pretty easy! I did see something I wanted to comment on - the torque wrench. You used it to tighten to the initial torque which is what it's made for, but then did the 90 and 180 degree torque after. I'm pretty certain that doing the degrees with a torque wrench is bad for it. It'll mess up the calibration. You're not supposed to go past the click.

Is the only reason you hold it up just so that you can control how much it drops so it doesn't break stuff? but once its all off its ok to get jacks out? If so can I have a buddy hold it instead of a jack you think? While I take the other stuff?
