    Thanks for watching. The most difficult part of this process i would say would be getting the metal seal out of the transmission, besides that be very careful when you are underneath because car has to be running to fill at proper temp. Thanks for the video! I was having a shudder, so I did the fluid change a total of 3 times, and on the last one I did the filter and cleaned the pan.
    It was honestly easier than I thought. I decided to leave the old transmission filter seal in, as it still seemed in good condition, and I think I would have done more harm trying to pull it out. I used Valvoline Maxlife ATF and it works really well, transmission shifts WAY better. This was at 131k miles, with no known fluid changes, so even if you have a lot of miles like me, I would recommend to change it.
    I had a fault code for "Gearbox Oil Wear", which I cleared with ISTA. I also used ISTA to monitor the gearbox temperatures. I would recommend doing it when the temperature outside is not too hot if you can, as you have more time to run the car through the gears while filling. I ran through all of the gears with my foot firmly on the brake, while I had my Dad pumped in fluid. Once fluid started coming out, and I verified the temperature was correct, I put the fill plug back in. It is easiest to install it from the driver's side. NOTE: you can leave the fill plug out when you start the car, this will save you from having to mess with it an additional time.
    Overall, this is not too bad of a job, and I would say it is easier than Valve cover gasket, but be sure that you lay down something to protect your garage floor, as it will get messy.
    My Indy wanted $750, and my BMW dealership $1000 to do this service. I ended up doing it for $230, and that included buying a set of ramps for the front of the car.
    Thank you again, you gave me the confidence to preform this service, and I have saved a lot of money thanks to you.

      That's awesome man, Glad the video helped you. I always say if my video helps at least one person then i have accomplished my end goal .Yeah the job is more daunting thinking of it then actually performing it.I would say to 2 most difficult things are ) putting the fluid in without burning your arm on the hot exhaust. 2) knocking the seal out, but if you are careful you can bend it with a chisel and sledge, and then hammer new one with a socket of same diameter and knock it flush. Im working on a whole N63 TWIN TURBO build series so keep an eye out in next week or so. I'm going to be releasing another Indentical video as this one but, It has better camera footage and will be better audio as well. Also the near future i'am going to show people how to do the 3 stage tune mod, and get another 50 or so hp for cheap. Thanks for watching🙏

      I’m getting a shudder too, it vibrates a lot when I get into certain rpms and up certain roads. So I’m going to try to do this soon. I’m just not sure if I can do it but I’ve done a valve cover gasket by myself. Hopefully it fixes itself for the first time because I bought the fluid kit from fcp euro and will be replacing the filter.

      @@xBlackHalo You can do it i promise.. It's looks worse than it actually is. Just make sure to fill at correct temp.. the hardest part is getting that seal out of the trans. Use a chisel and mini sledge and carefully fold in the edges , then you can use pliers to pull it out.. Making a trans pump like the one i did with copper wire from home depot, it will help you so much.. and be careful of the hot exhaust close to your face also. Good luck you got this 🙏

    On the second go around filling up the last 3 quarts, are you filling it up with the car on or off?

    • @findfixxflip
      @findfixxflip  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello again, so on the second time around make sure the trans is up to temperature, 86-120 degrees, With car running and in Nuetral remove fill plug and fill until fluid drains out the hole. It is important to only pump fluid in second time when trans is up to temperature because the fluid expands and won't be filled properly of overfilled if car isnt running. Just be very careful to burn yourself it's very close the exhaust.

      Thanks man i appreciate you. Welcome the the E92 Club honestly it's been such a dependable ride, such a good motor. So to answer the first question it's super easy to check which transmission you have. Just undo the i think 6 , 8mms holding the shroud by the trans. Look at if it's plastic or metal. If it's metal then you get the gasket kit and filter. If it's plastic you replaces as one whole unit. I would just purchase a slim jack and 4 jackstands. Start in the front of the car from left to right at lifting points. Then go under the rear diff and lift up the car be very careful and lift slowly. Then just set jackstands at the rear and she's up high enough to do this. Also #1 make sure not to put cheap autozone fluid, Either the kit i bought works or you can use the Liqui moly trans fluid. #2 you can make a filler pump with a piece of copper tube from home depot and those cheap pumps from harbor freight. #3 make sure you have an IR or infra red temp gun to measure the temp of trans before putting in fluid. For first fill it's ok for it to be cold. But for final fill make sure it's within proper temp before pumping in. I've done this on my car's and all my friends bimmers's and they have all been running so smooth on the shift's with better powerband. I have videos on my channel to just cover about every mechanical fix you would want to do for it. I will be doing a future video as how to do the 328i to 330i tune for 50 free hp. Thanks for watching 🙏

      Mine is 2008 328i and it comes with metal pan. It’s a rear wheel drive. Not all rear wheel drive comes with plastic pan like Pelican parts’ video clip stated.

    • @findfixxflip
      @findfixxflip  ปีที่แล้ว

      If it's the metal pan then you have the GM GA6L45R transmission. It's the same as the mine. The only thing that is tricky is the bend the metal seal out of the case. I used a chisel and hit in the corner's carefully to remove it. MIne is rear wheel drive also.@@leopadh

    • @findfixxflip
      @findfixxflip  ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks man, So just make sure you use a low profile jack, i put an amazon link, or just go the harbor freight if you have one near you. Make sure car is securely supported before anything. I like to start with the front of the car first, then put a jack under the rear diff and slowly raise it. Main thing is you want enough room to slide under there to put the fluid back in, and also not burn your face because it's super close the cat converter. Let me know if you have any questions when you are proceeding k. 👍

    • @findfixxflip
      @findfixxflip  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, so based on your info, you have the n52, 3.0 liter 6 cylinder. The way you tell which transmission you have is if you have a plastic pan or a metal one. If you have a plastic one then you will need to replace the pan because the filter is part of it. I would really invest in a temp gun, you can get one from harbor freight if you are in us for around $25. You really want to fill at the right temp. So as far as filling goes, pump fluid until it runs out of the hole with car off. Then start car bring trans up to temp check with gun, then pump fluid until comes out the hole and tighten. take for a drive. Hope this helps ya🙏

Then bring trans up to temp as showin in video, Then unscrew plug, and pump in again until it starts coming out of the hole. Then tighten plug, perform relearn, and take for testdrive. Hope this answers your question. 👍

      @ okay the first fill is at room temperature, car not on, second one is while car is running right? @@MistahmiZheJAH Yes just pump in the trans fluid in through the side port. It's a 17mm. make sure you don't over torque the bolts for a good seal.. Pump fluid till it comes out. Then bring car up to temp and cycle through the gears, be quick with it as it heats up quick. Then do the same again. each fill will take about 3 liters. I have used the blauparts kits multiple times with no issues so that's what i would recommend as well.
