This new thing is nuts for getting Athena rep. Even just one island of this gets you what the entirety of what an entire regular voyage would give you
The legend of the veil is not just more fun it gives you a great amount of loot

You can do a legend of the veil voyage, claim the emissary voyage and complete it and the rinse and repeat
i think the main benefit of dr athena voyages is that you are far more likely to be undisturbed by other players, which is a huge draw. (and also the geysers can make killing captains really easy). as long as you are familiar with the volcanos, and/or even have a crewmate with you, it's the safest in my experience.
so DR to play it safe (as long as you're ok with volcanos), and LotV to be time efficient.
Great video man! There’s only one problem though. There is one guaranteed keg of ancient black powder for every thieves haven runs. A skeleton will always spawn with one on the last set of 9 dig spots
I must've missed it a couple times because there have been runs where I've not gotten one.
That’s not always a guarantee, i’ve had many thieves haven run voyages without one spawing on the last chapter.
@@killzone1401 No hate but dude, that’s not possible. The last chapter GUARANTEES either digging up a keg, or a skeleton with a keg spawning when you dig up the last item
@@rind3rfilet87 No it doesn’t, i’ve done over 150 thieves haven run voyages at this point, it’s not always guaranteed, i’ve had many voyages that did not have a single athena keg.
i did this with so of my friends and we got grade 4 from just putting in one vail stone
5:31 They removed the sunken ships portion of this now due to an exploit so probably gonna be a big hit to reaching Grade 5 with Athena in a single run.
first of all great video! i got pirate legend 2 days ago and i was pretty lost cause i didn't know what athena quest i should do, i did all of them and i found them a bit confusing since i'm still quite new to the game but i know my way around but let me tell you, thanks to you i definitly now know what quest i should do. thank you so much, keep up the awesome work

@@underspellJR it's really not that hard to get to lvl 50 in 3 factions, especially during gold rush and similar events
I did this yesterday but didn’t put the last veil stone in because I didn’t know what would happen and I didn’t want to get stuck in a cutscene while some rando sunk us and went off with the chest of legends so we exchanged some of the treasure and when we went to put the veil stone in it wasn’t there along with two pieces of Athena’s loot. So I guess put the last stone in when you first have it.
yup there's a bug where sometimes loot despawns after you put the veil stone in...

I didn't test this but would it be possible to lower and raise the athena flag once it reaches grade 5 during the legend of the veil quest for the gold and rep and still get grade 5 at the end again?
Thats what I did yesterday, it worked
I also collected teh grade 5 quest both times so I had to grade 5 quests
you only get a G5 at the very end

By putting the stone in you get emmaicry, after you put 2 veils stones in you hit grade 5. What I did was lowered and grabbed my quest then raised it again
@@SeaOfConcepts putting 2 of the gems and taking out a skeleton sloop nets level G5 Athena. saving one of them gems at the end to try and gain extra rep when bringing it down *NOTE Turning in one of the athena items bugged our chest it was in and disappeared* So for a lost of loot.

Veils are best if your willing to pvp, Thieves Haven are good for more casual gameplay, and Devils Roar (my favorite) allows for the most part immunity to all pvp encounters allowing me to confidently solo sloop.
The emplacements in the legends of the veil look like something out of harry potter

I stayed up to do Shrouded Deep and Legend of the Veil. I got grade 5 in one try for Legend of the Veil. And not just that I got 150k from a Athena Voyage. A FUCKING ATHENA VOYAGE

Even without testing or proves, i'll never do a "normal" voyage or thieves' haven run again. Way too repetitive for what is supposed to be legendary. The Veil voyage is really a much needed fresh air for pirate legends to actually feel doing something legendary.
Honestly i dont care if the legend of the veil isnt the best or whatever its just more fun that anything else athena, also. wow, that's very smart well done
Agreed, I did 3 in one session last night, only only downside is people start to notice the tornado keep popping up 😂 some absolute chad stole my legends chest by tucking on the last stage. I couldn’t even be mad
every time ive done it ive (twice) had at least two ships come in near the end to attack us as we were already damaged. any tips?
I'm late to this video but I was wondering. If you can get around 30k from an ashen athena chest of legends (with the emissary) in like 14 mins speedrunning, would this be a good grinding tactic for gold?

The KEG in Athenas run is garanted, or i got it from about 15 athenas run like 19 KEGS
Why do I do alright soloing veils but get f#cked when I try to solo OOS ghost ship voyages?
So how often are people trying to steal your chest now when you do a veil run?
Hasnt happened to me yet, did about 11 runs. Have stole one right as the last fort was defeated tho.

To be honest im doing dr athena just for milestones. It lvl both dr and athena voyages completed.

It's no longer the fastest way to level your Athena but it is now a good way to work on Athena milestones and devil roar voyage milestones

raise athena emissary do legend of the veil voyage lower emissary and do it again
What about a Fof? If you server hopped for them would it compare?
not in the slightest since it’s only slightly better than LOTV and takes more time/isn’t stackable
