Checking out your older vids today. Really enjoy what you do. From a fellow former sailor I thank you for your service. I think all humans have ghosts in their closets. After watching several of your vids I was blown away to see you play Wow. I too have played for several years. Keep up the awesome work and stay human.
Love the video`s brother. I`m a retired Florida Highway Patrol Officer, we all have hard times in our lives, but with hard work you came out on top, nice job.
"Its all full of maggots and everything and..." **FLING** Haha nice work man. I know nothing about trees but we have a couple Stihl chainsaws that I maintain...pretty sure I found your channel looking for maintenance videos, and now I'm hooked. You're a stand-up guy and put out some great content - keep it up!
you should do a video going over the most common knots that you use, and it what situations you use them. Great video's man, I really enjoy your content!
Been getting estimates lately with tree services about a couple of large red cedars in my backyard. They are starting to rot out and one service said that if they fall on neighbor's property and we knew they were dead/dying, that insurance wouldn't cover it. So we kinda need em gone, watching all your videos makes me want to do it myself, but I know I'm NOWHERE near being even capable of THINKING about it!!!! Lol. Much respect to you and what you do, and like I said in my last comment, super proud to see a fellow ex-con doing his part to better himself and surroundings. The system doesn't make it easy, but well done brother! Keep up the great content!
If your tree falls on your neighbor's property then it's an act of God. Your neighbor has no recourse on you or your insurance company. It is incumbent on them to inform you via certified letter that they suspect that your tree is hazardous. If they have expressed their concerns in this verifiable way then you may be liable for damages. Hope this helps.
localcrew nice! We were told because our trees have been dropping limbs about that we could be liable because we knew of the issue. Either way, 2600 to remove two trees. The quote from 4 different companies
Dude, your videos are great. I was raised with a wood stove for heat. We had electric but we’d never use it. My childhood was filled with the buzz of the chainsaw. Good, honest work.
I have been watching your videos and I enjoy the way you work. With a tree like that is there a benefit to putting a 2" DOT strap around the trunk of the tree and tightening it down with a racket before working on a tree like that or would that not make a difference? Just thinking about extra safety,
I know this is oddly random but it is amazing seeing what you have come from (your past) to where you are now. I can tell you are a great man and a great friend to have but also someone you don’t want to cross lol keep up the great work brother. PS the Navy is gay lol sincerely an Army grunt hahaha keep on trucking my man.
Just a note: Purchase high quality SD cards - ie: Lexan - Class 10 - 1000 X speed - (64 Gig) for high quality video. B+H Photo - or Google search for a better price. Your existing SD cards can not keep up to your camera output (I surmise). Class 10 is the important number here. Keep up the great videos!
Just found your channel, awesome content! Hats off to you, that shit is work! Are you located in Missouri? Just curious I’m in Joplin. Thanks for sharing!
Sweetgums are worthless. We had one cut down a few months ago that was growing right next to my garage and my neighbors house on the property line, and once they started cutting it was rotting from the inside out. We're in a hurricane zone and glad it's gone. At least it didn't look nearly as bad as that one did.
Looks like you've recovered from your fall !!! How did the Emerald Ash Borer effect your area now and in the past ? Its terrible in South Western and Central Ontario Canada right now ,literally millions of all Ash species dead and dying , many people trying to get their land logged but with all the Ash being put on the market its driven the price way down . Tonnes of residential work ,lots of money to be made !!!
Starting to work at a family friends tree service company on Monday. Going to be working 40 hours a week 8 hours a day. I get paid lunch and weekends off. I’ve watched about 80 videos of yours the past 2 days and they are oddly entertaining. I’m not too sure what to expect from the job if I’m going to come home feeling dead, or if I’m going to love it. I’m excited to get on my feet and start making some money but a little nervous on the labor I’m gonna have to do. I’m an outdoors guy and I have went to the gym regularly for about 4 years but I’m still just 15. Any tips or things I should know/need before I start? Thanks keep up the great work
YahooCom you're gonna be very tired at the end of the day for at least the first week. Or you should be, anyway. Good news is, you'll get used to it and probably learn a boatload while you're at it.
v3124 I won’t doubt I’m gonna be learning a lot, being the youngest one there. I don’t really have an idea of what I’m doing other than I’m a chipper loader, does that mean I’m going to be the person dragging the limbs and logs to the chipper and loading it?
I _hate_ Gum trees. I've never had to fell any trees, myself, but I've done plenty of clean-up. Though, I was wondering if you had any pointers for sawing on felled logs? I know some basic stuff, but I still end up pinching my bar, every once in a while.
The only thing I've found good about sweet gum trees is they are great to use a climbing tree stand in to hunt. The trunks are really straight and the bark gives a good bite to the stand. Other than that they are awful to cut, impossible to split without a hyd. splitter and burn like crap once they've dried out.
I cut down my first tree a couple of weeks ago and salute to what you guys do that shit is no joke. Very sketch lol I'll be letting the professional handle the next time. 💪
Have you noticed the newer 562XP AT leaking bar oil under the muffler, where the two clamshell halves join? Mine has since day one. I have no doubt the dealer will fix it under warranty, but wtf? I thought they dealt with, and solved, that issue years ago.
Got a question for you, Have you tried the 550xp? I made the mistake of going to my Stihl/Husky dealer since I had a rain day this morning and was drooling over the 562 & 550xp's. I have run the 550xp before when I was working with the local county parks & recreation tree care department last for Emerald Ash Borer control & removal. I think the 550 is similar in size to the Stihl 261 or 241 but I'm not 100% sure. I liked the 550xp in particular because once it was warmed up the acceleration was spot on an instant from idle to full throttle, the parks head arborist says it's a mini Ferrari lol Anyways if you do get yourself a 550 please do let me know what you think of it.
The 550 is the new 346 NE, great little screamers ! I love my 346. Now I'm coveting a 576.... I think those two would be a good match... I was considering a 562 but I'm thinking it's too close to a 550 to make much difference?
I wonder if they can make a camera that has redundant sd cards so if one fails you still got the footage. And if you don’t want that feature it’s will just be extra memory.
There are some high end cameras that take 2 SD cards so that when one is full its swaps to the other but I'm not sure about redundancy. Then again I'm just speaking from experience. I've only ever had one nice video camera ($850) and that was a few years back. No idea what you can get now.
Yeah pro level DSLRs have redundant memory cards but you're talking about pretty expensive hardware and they definitely know they've got you over a barrel as a professional who can't afford to lose data due to bad cards. You pay for it through the nose.
Why didn't you use the pole saw to piece up that snapped out limb that landed on the house? Very unsafe practice to be cutting over your head with a ground saw. A polesaw keeps you back from a nasty surprise as well when dealing with snap outs on the ground. Good vid, love the channel.
TheToolnut its safer. but its harder to watch the cut and much more easy to pinch and harder to get free. if your not very experienced with one you can distroy it
TheToolnut nothing more dangerous then cutting loaded wood that's where experience comes in Saw control watching your cut and knowing what the woods going to do I've seen people jump in balls deep and got cracked in the melon
Human, quick question. What size bar do you have on your top handle saw? looking to get a top handle saw, but not sure if 12" is too small or 16" is too big.
Any time you see black coffee like that in the tree....its usually from grubbs....grubbs turn into black beetles eventually but ive seen where a dozen grubbs can make wheelbarrows full of poop
Are you a sub for these companies I was just wondering because I have watch a few of your videos and I have noticed that you are working with different companies
Oh man, that gunk always reminds me when I was clearing a lot a few years ago and there was a possum living inside the base of a rotted out tree. Little did I know until I started notching and got blood all over my chaps.....
Cory, watching all your videos. Keep em' coming. With you being such a clean and neat Dude, when are you going to get a power washer and clean the engine bay and chassis on yer Dually? Then again, fuck it and drive it! Good to see you recuperating!
I like how clean and professional you keep the job site. Not messy like some companys that have no respect for personal property
over the past week i think i've seen around 30+ of your videos. this is oddly relaxing, you got me hook for life man!
hakeador4000 the favorite word of the internet these days...satisfying. Something about watching someone doing a job so well and professionally.

Wow do you really think tree work is that cool...? Wtf
you should do a video going over the most common knots that you use, and it what situations you use them. Great video's man, I really enjoy your content!
@4:38
Not many know how cool it feels to catch a bottle at height, just as its momentum stalls at arms reach.
Livin the dream, lol.
Wasn't he supposed to dive for the first one?
Tell the dude on the ground to aim for your face! works every time.
I have no idea why I watch someone cut trees down but your videos are super relaxing to me lol. Thanks for your work :)
They are relaxing, especially since they are doing all the work. :)
i love the quick jump cuts between cuts (thats a tonge twister)
the little revs kinda make me chuckle. awesome job!
I like that also. :)

i got about 60 trees that need to come down in VA if you want to make the trip
Just started watching you. Very awesome videos though man! Keep it up.
you should take every short sound clip you have of you cutting with the chain saw and try to configure it into a metal song cover
Nice cutting through basically soil. How did that 562 do restarting in the heat?

what Husky saws are those its been awhile since ive watched your videos im a little bit out of the loop
Was the stuff in the middle dirt or decomposed tree? Also what saw was that at the very end and how long was the bar?
Mix of all kinds of shit. 395XP, 36" bar
Why the double face cut? Great work as usual ! 😎
Another enjoyable video, Human. The slow-mo and sound was cool I thought. :)
muito bom trabalho amigos. parabéns. estou chegando agora. blz

Those Biljax are nice after you get used to the side to side movement
What do you prefer Husqvarna or sthil for preference not price
Dude love your content. Would be fun to work with you. I took you more as a Stihl guy though 🤔 haha
Hi if I was to get a chainsaw what one would you recommend me getting a STIHL Chainsaw or a Husqvarna chainsaw ??
You have the coolest job I’ve been trying to start a tree business for some time now and I can’t seem to get it going what’s your secret?
don't own my own business

My canon xf100 has dual cf cards and I can do that. $2500 pro camera though
What does a job like that one go for? Quite a bit of machinery on that one!
So now that you have been back working for awhile, do you feel like you are back to 100% strength and stamina ?
I'd say stamina could still use some work, and the body gets a bit sore working long hours like we have been.
Glad to see you are keeping hydrated !
Impressive but can you do lumberjack by jackyl ?
Hi what Chainsaw do you prefer still chainsaws or a husqvarna chainsaw
I like both
I only used the pull behind....😲That self prepelled is COOL😎
hows your hip and stuff been?
Corey you need to do a video of you cleaning that saw!

JPO Orr Agreed up to a point, but the polesaw is the way to go for small to medium-sized limbs above chest height.
TheToolnut yeah I know I would have cut close to 70% of that with a power pruner done it thousands of times on Hurricane and ice storm clean up
TheToolnut nothing more dangerous then cutting loaded wood that's where experience comes in Saw control watching your cut and knowing what the woods going to do I've seen people jump in balls deep and got cracked in the melon
JPO Orr Indeed, understanding compression and tension is key.
What climbing saw do you use?
Love the ending. Funny as hell
Great job crew...No more gum balls
Thats a sweet lift the only driveable ones ive used are a million pounds and useless. How u like the 562?
Loving it still, well, when my ground crew don't dull the shit out of the chain, lol
Great video as always
Yeppers a clean job site is a safe job site. Keep up the good work brother!!!
just curious, how much water do you drink throughout a day like this ?
On really hot days, sometimes 2+ gallons. Normal days, about a gallon.
just subbed! 👍
What kinda of boots you were when you climb?

This looks like a really fun job
Human, quick question. What size bar do you have on your top handle saw? looking to get a top handle saw, but not sure if 12" is too small or 16" is too big.
I run a 16", if you're going to be doing decent size removals, don't see the reason for smaller bars.
Thanks for the quick reply! Love this channel. Keep it up bro.
great videos man. good work
How would I get into this type of job, I'm Interested but dont really know a whole lot about it
Start at a tree service as a groundsman
How do you have to be to work at a Tree Cutting Company

wow that as 1 f-ed-up tree, unreal on how long people will wait to cut them down even a DAMN tree hugger would have taken that one down
Did you stop using Stihl?
The company I work for now uses husky, mine are still stihl though.
Great video nice work 👍
And you climbed in that rotten thing! From my point of view you do excellent work sir!
Sweetgum are the mosquito of trees.
What's your average pay a month as a tree feller
Are you the only one in the crew that can cut the trees down?
Let's all have a moment of silence for that chain 😭
😂😂👌
i love the sound off stihl and husqarner
What does taking down a tree like that cost?
In my area, $3K but seeing as it was storm damage $4K / $5K it is always more dangerous doing them after they fail.
0:40, My Sanchez from GTA San Andreas every time I touch the gas
New saw? Thing sounds like a beast
Oh man, that gunk always reminds me when I was clearing a lot a few years ago and there was a possum living inside the base of a rotted out tree. Little did I know until I started notching and got blood all over my chaps.....
He got an unexpected eviction notice.
