Public servents go through a lot. Being in dispatch, i hear it all when they come in. Some of the strongest people i know. Same time its my job to keep them safe and get them home. Something goes wrong, i must get them help.
What a perfect way to explain it, “The Weight of The Badge”. Most will never know the extent of what law enforcement officers 👮♀️have to deal with throughout their career. For most LEOs this wasn’t a career choice, IT WAS A CALLING. Because it truly takes a unique individual to volunteer to put their lives on the line for a stranger. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Heard a story on Christian radio this morning, a Tennessee LEO said he was eating at a Cracker Barrel, when he went up to pay, the cashier said two Black girls had paid his bill and left him a note, which read " Black lives matter, but so does yours, lunch is on us, take care." We all need to stick together, see through the lies and the herd mentality. You do it through loving your neighbor as yourself.
@Gengis Khan I suggest you do research on the individuals who have been made "saints" and the situations in which they were shot. These men resisted, fought and attacked the LEOs, their background were all of being thugs, lawbreakers. The guy shot on Kenosha raped a women with her child beside her, stole her credit card and her car. This was never reported, it never is, because it doesn't fit the media narrative.. Have some Cops used violent force illegally? Yes, and they were punished. nothing is perfect in this world, including YOU or me.
As corrections office this made me tear up but we hold strong on the gates of hell and we won’t buckle under the weight of the badge. When the radio calls I’m there no one fights alone god bless the boys behind the barbwire keep hell back.

It always gets me excited to hear that someone is interested in law enforcement. It’s not a job, it’s a calling - like being a priest or a nun. Ordinary people doing an extraordinary job. I followed my father before me (police) and his father before him (firefighter) into public service. For 24 years, my wife and kids have watched me drive away under the weight of the badge. Thank you Mr. Strait for recognizing those who serve and make split second decisions that are reviewed and dissected for years by others who weren't there. It's one the noblest of callings, police work, and I pray that those youngsters feeling the call now aren't turned away by the negative views of the few but that they answer that call for the needs of the many.
Everyone says black lives matter I don't care if you brown, white, blue,or purple, I treat everyone the same - My grandfather. Everyone needs to know these words

This song is personal for me. My Dad has been a cop for many years for our local PD. He goes out there and works his ass off to serve and protect our community. He is the hardest working man I know. Colorado lost a trooper Wednesday in a blizzard while he was out trying to help a stranded motorist. This song is for him and all the others who've lost their lives helping and protecting people.
Hey Brother, I spent 4 long years as a CO before becoming a policeman on the street. Being a CO is a thankless, shitty job. Since transitioning to the street, I'm nice to the detention deputies. They deal with some shit in probably one of the most secluded, unknown jobs. Hang in there brother, it's shitty but we need you on those tiers. Thank you for what you do. Sincerely, a former State Penitentiary CO turned Cop.
I’m a retired road (Sgt) deputy with a daughter who is now a corrections deputy. Listening to her stories… I had it easy on the road. I could roll the windows up and listen to the music. She is stuck with the 400 inmates yelling, screaming, fighting, etc. Please don’t kid yourself on the importance of your job. A badge is a badge! Stay safe and I keep YOU ALL in my prayers. *Also, seeing The King singing this live in concert. It had pretty much all of us in the field house crying.
My husband is a retired Sheriffs Deputy and our son followed in his footsteps 12 years ago. This song sounds like it was written for them. The badge is a very heavy load for them and their families but they serve with pride and amazing courage. I love my Deputies and I couldn’t be more proud of them. Thank you George Straight for singing this song.

Beautiful Song for our Law officer's men& women who put their lives on the line everyday to serve & protect all """ Love this King George 💞💞💞💞💞🎶🎶🎶🎶
What era are you living in? From the president to the pope to the police to the preacher to the principal are all corrupt now
I’ve been on 20 years and not corrupt very few are 1/2 of 1% misfit their uniform and that is a better average then you have among clergy men..Paul Harvey
Thank you
Well said
Respect the Thin Blue Line. Without them where would we be.
Ya because you are probably a felon and the bad police took you away from being an upstanding citizen.

Emmanuel your not pro police until you need them. You have no idea what it would be like without them
@@cjyoung4493 police are the new criminals and admittedly the biggest gang in America. Pawns of a corrupt government

Colton Young thank you
You've perfectly captured our life in a positive and uplifting way. Thank you Mr. Strait!!
The many badges that are wore by all!! I salute all my brothers and sisters for their selfless dedication to their profession! Thank you to Mr George Strait (King of Country) for another amazing song!
A Very Big Texas Thank You for this song for all our police officers. God Bless you George 🙏
Hi beautiful how are you doing ❤❤
Ordinary people doing an extraordinary job. I followed my father before me (police) and his father before him (firefighter) into public service. For 24 years, my wife and kids have watched me drive away under the weight of the badge. Thank you Mr. Strait for recognizing those who serve and make split second decisions that are reviewed and dissected for years by others who weren't there.
It's one the noblest of callings, police work, and I pray that those youngsters feeling the call now aren't turned away by the negative views of the few but that they answer that call for the needs of the many.
Thank you George. You've made something very cool, during a time when we need it most and the silent majority wants to hear it.
More relevant now than ever.
Long time fan of George! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Song takes on new meaning when you have one..soon to be two wearing a badge. 💙
Everyone says black lives matter I don't care if you brown, white, blue,or purple, I treat everyone the same - My grandfather. Everyone needs to know these words
I wish I could agree with you Sir, I have seen so much hate against me as a white officer from the black community in London. I am scarred for life. Putting everyone together is not a good idea in my experience. Just brings pain.😔
Black, brow, white... Whatever color you are. We are all red white and blue. Or should be.
"I'm gonna be alright, it's just some times you gotta fight."
Keep fighting the good fight. Don't buckle under the weight of the badge. Keep your integrity, stay true, honesty and pride.
This man is literally the King!
You don't know how much, until you have worn one
Beautiful!!! I'm speechless. Makes me think of my son,my daughter in law. Who puts their life's on the line everyday for you and I. GOD bless all the women and men who are the First responder. They Run towards harms way while we run away from danger. These are True Heros!! GOD BLESS them all!! Sincerely Lisa Herrera, a Mother's Love
It does not get any better than George....No smoke or bells and whistles when he sings. What a pure country sound.
This song is personal for me. My Dad has been a cop for many years for our local PD. He goes out there and works his ass off to serve and protect our community. He is the hardest working man I know. I appreciate everything he’s done for me, my mom, my siblings, and our community. My Dad “Ain’t gonna buckle under the weight of the badge”! Thank you George for such an amazing song!
On the job 30 years, THANK YOU Mr. Strait.
Rich Perkinson thank you for your service!
Rich Perkinson
Yes, thank you so much for your service. God bless you and your family.
Colorado lost a trooper Wednesday in a blizzard while he was out trying to help a stranded motorist. This song is for him and all the others who've lost their lives helping and protecting people.
My husband is a Colorado LEO and we knew both CSP Cody Donahue and William Moden. Thank you for your kind words. 💙
I can always listen to ole George Strait. His songs always have a story unlike the newer country music.
My father was Baltimore police for 23 years retired now he’s still holding the line with the local sheriffs department. Definitely my hero
We thank him
Fuck you T Barnes 🖕
I'm a corrections officer but this song still hits hard
You’re one of us, brother.
My husband is a police officer I could not stand behind a better man. He is a true hero
It's Friday night, but I'm off to my Monday morning in the graveyard shift. A timely song, George. Thanks! Well done.
Thank you for this song. My son is an MP, security officer and sheriff’s deputy. I have several friends that are police officers. 🖤💙🖤🙏🙏🙏
@George strait NC my son is currently stationed in Washington State as active duty service member.
Classic country. Nothing like it .
Incredible. To those officers out there right now, just know you have my greatest respect. Thank you for saving my life when I was 13 and I was home alone and my house got broken into. Because of what I’ve gone through in my life I’m going to get my law enforcement degree. Watch your 6. 🚔⚫️🔵⚫️
The song is called The Weight Of The Badge. But George Strait's heart weighs a lot, because it's made out of gold. Long live the King of Country!
Gods voice in another man
Preach on, sister!
Yep
Dm me
never seen such a true comment
popper deckman what😂
I think people now more than ever need to hear this song.
Amen
Yeah
Even better would be to find out if their local law enforcement agencies allow civilians to ride along, so people can see first hand what they experience.
@George Strait I was raised listening to this kind of music
@George Strait I've never been to one of your concerts. But im from Tennessee but moved around a lot because of my dads job. And now my job as a united states marine.
You are so sweet George 🙌🙏💜🤠
Thank you for this great song, from a Chicago police officers daughter ❤️ and sister my bro is also a Chicago police officer
Thank you King George for recognizing the Men and Women in Blue. Such a great song. 🍻 🔵🔴🔵
The actual weight isn't much. The true weight is heart breaking.

This song touches my heart as a active volunteer firefighter/ emt basic and a law enforcement officer
I have checked thumbs up to almost every comment here. Lets praise our Law Enforcement officers at this time of stupid revolt against them. George couldn't have a better song out right now!!

Thanks George for backing the Police 🙌🏻
As the grandson and nephew of a fallen officers every time I hear this song or songs like it I take a knee and remove my hat and take a minute of silence to respect the dead my best friends dad was killed in a drug bust and on the day of his funeral I was being picked up from work and my boss says you’re not going anywhere and I told him to have some fucking respect and to shove it all of my coworkers took my side
Hear this Nashville, this is REAL country!
George keeping it real and to the point. We your fans love you. You're awesome as ever. Country the way it needs to be. A beautiful song and actually this song is describing many people's lives. As I have said your songs always have a story of true meanings. Love you and thanks for keeping and staying country. The king and legend of country music. This song brought tears to my face. A very beautiful well done song. 🤠🤠😀😁
As the daughter of a fallen officer, I absolutely admire any artist who writes or sings a song that supports the men and women in law enforcement. I lost my step dad in the Line of Duty on 6 November 2016. Every time I hear a song related to law enforcement, I think of him. Love and miss you dad. #311 🖤💙🖤
Sierra I am very sorry for your loss. A loss of any officer is felt by our family. Remember you too are a member of this large, wonderful, LEO family and we will always remember your dad's sacrifice.

Thanks again for everything you've done for us fans. Have a good Veteran's Day George. My Stepfather was a Policeman 👮♂️. Before that. He was in Vietnam 🇻🇳. That was long before I knew him. My Grandfather was a Veteran and so was my Uncle named Dave . My Grandfather was in World War ll . My Uncle named Dave was in the Army Reserves.
George Strait is simply the best. Great song.
I honor all that do the right thing in health and honor.
BACK THE BLUE
Just come across this song. An officer i worked with several years ago just was killed in the line of duty.. My heart breaks for all the leo and dispatchers that had to work this and the friends and family of his.
This song means more now then ever. I stand with the thin blue line
