I've had friends reach out to me asking things like "What's so good about country, anyways?" or "Who are some good country artists?" and without thinking, I always respond "George Strait." But on top of his silky smooth voice and the southern accent combined with his GREAT songs, George is the ultimate southern gentlemen. Just look at the way he converses with Miranda. This show isn't about him. It's about him, his band, and Miranda. And you can tell he feels genuinely excited to have her on stage with him and share the spotlight. Furthermore, he doesn't try to sing overtop of her. A) because that's not his style and B) He's helping out a fellow friend/artist. He's giving her a large part of the spotlight and he's happy to do it. Why? Because George Strait is a boss. He doesn't get enough credit for what he's contributed to the country music genre over his lifetime. Great musician, even better man.

I had the pleasure of meeting Miranda in 2005 at Kansas Motor Speedway. She had just done Nashville Star and lost to Buddy Jewell...She had just released her 1st album and performed a couple songs from it and the National Anthem...She was a Kasey Kahne fan and happened to come up to his souvenir rig. After she bought a ball cap, we struck up a conversation...The one time I didn't have a camera with me and cell phones didn't have cameras then...She signed my ball cap and I told her she should have won Nashville Star...She said aww, you're so sweet I bet you make sugar taste like salt...To say I got weak in the knees is an understatement.
Driving through texas with the sun going down and listening to George strait, it don't get any better than that.

Thanks for posting. Miranda knocked these two songs out of the park. It’s difficult to listen to the originals without her voice which is a perfect complement to George.

I had the pleasure of meeting Miranda in 2005 at Kansas Motor Speedway. She had just done Nashville Star and lost to Buddy Jewell...She had just released her 1st album and performed a couple songs from it and the National Anthem...She was a Kasey Kahne fan and happened to come up to his souvenir rig. After she bought a ball cap, we struck up a conversation...The one time I didn't have a camera with me and cell phones didn't have cameras then...She signed my ball cap and I told her she should have won Nashville Star...She said aww, you're so sweet I bet you make sugar taste like salt...To say I got weak in the knees is an understatement.
Great story. Read up on the Nashville Star.....she didn't want to win, so it worked out for her!
