I like to paint "while I'm still dreaming" while I'm waiting for the coffee to brew; when I'm not quite awake enough to be critical. I also like to layer my work, sometimes with just paint, or with other things--like tissue paper, bits of material or paper. I once scrubbed a canvas clean when I didn't love the painting, and discovered that I liked what was left behind (all of the paint did not scrub off) I will also sometimes sand the paint with a fine paper, to reveal what's under that color.
I just love how you play and experiment! It's it fun to cover up, yet still see some of it's previous life? And sandpaper....so cool!! Thanks for sharing that with me, Christine!

Oh I’ve just started painting again; I’m so excited to be exploring art again, and Betty - your work is part of what inspired me to start painting to begin with!! 😊
You asked which one we prefer and that's really interesting because for about the first half of the video I really preferred the one on the left. Then you made a few changes that made me like the one on the left a lot less and the one on the right a lot more! And that preference stayed, at the end the one on the right still was my favorite.
Love to hear that! It's interesting how we change our thoughts about a piece as it goes through different stages. Thanks so much for watching, Marjolein!
You're amazing!!!!! What a lovely way to express color......vibrant and expressive! @@BettyFranksArt thank you Betty so much for all your help. I did a free taster course called FIND YOUR JOY with Louise Fletcher and have become inspired by abstract art and realise I love colour, just like your paintings. I have also found you on pinterest too. Absolutely gorgeous work. Best wishes Deborah ❤
@deborahpollock8769 Louise is a wonderful artist! So glad you found both of us!
@@BettyFranksArt I am too. A journey of discovery 🥰
The one on the right !
But both are amazing and look so good as a pair !
Awe...thanks so much!! I appreciate you watching!
Arts life is beautiful Betty , I never see this kind of canvas in my life,
Thank you!
I really can’t say one is my favorite over the other, I absolutely LOVE both!! So appreciate your time to You Tube, thank you! I’m still trying to figure out my process and feel like sometimes if not most times it’s all too tight and contrived! I am constantly trying to be relaxed and loose and remember to have all the elements, tones, hues, ect ect ect!! Whew!
Right?! It's a lot to remember and to do! You got this, Cary! It just takes practice.
I love your ENERGY, Betty. Thank you for sharing. 😊

So inspiring watching your videos Betty. Naturally my style is different but I've learnt so much from you in developing it. When I'm flagging I watch one of your videos and that gets me going again. You are a true artist teacher. Thank you. 💐❤️👌
You are super kind! Thank you so much!

This kind of painting, I will love to use it in my dream, one day
Thank you!
I love your work and have enjoyed your videos for a long time. Thank you! I’d like your Nova link.
So glad you enjoyed it, Olivia! Here's the link to Betty's Bundle: www.bettyfranksart.com/favorite-nova-color-paints Thank you for asking! 💛
Oh I’ve just started painting again; I’m so excited to be exploring art again, and Betty - your work is part of what inspired me to start painting to begin with!! 😊
awe...you're sweet! Thanks so much for being here!
Love these two! Thank you for sharing your process!
Cool! Thanks so much for watching!
I agree ....when you have something, completed, on the same day, you can look back and anchor that piece to that day! You know your day is never a "total loss".....you have proof of your accomplishments.....beautiful proof!!!!❤
Energy is my friend! ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
