  • If you also hoard magazines and books and want to alter the pages in your own individual style then you're totally right here.
I watched a video from Kelly ‪@BookandPaperArts‬ where she showed a technique how to alter book and magazine pages to get beautiful pages for you journals. I was so excited about her results and had to give it a try.

Thank you for this video! I think your pieces turned out as beautiful as the ones Kelly created, and using the Neocolor 2 crayons is an inspired idea! The sunflower turned out so well; it is presumptuous of me, but, if i created it, I would archive it to make photocopies to use in many projects. Perhaps a tribute to Van Gogh's sunflower paintings? And your English is fine, your meaning is clear, so please do not worry about that; being bilingual is a blessing. So please keep making videos!😊

Great technique! Love the results you got ❤I have lots of floral, bird and other decor magazines/books etc. Can’t wait to do this. The block is sandpaper block and the diff grades of sandpaper is called grit. So 400 grit is finer grain than 200 grit etc. Yes you’re removing the shine or glossiness 😊 Your English is excellent! Pls don’t ever hesitate or apologize 😊. Looking forward to watching/learning more from your channel. One small thought if I may… it’s best to use gloves if you do this technique often. The chemicals from the print are not good to be absorbed by the skin. Fine dust inhalation is not either 😊

    Hi Susi!
I find it easier to wet the sponge without spraying the paper. The sponge was also designed for cleaning stainless steel kitchen sinks and can remove rust stains and similar marks. Ordinary wet sandpaper is less abrasive, but it tears easily, which is why these blocks are so practical. The sponge is perfect for controlling how wet you want it to be.
To use the sponge, put it under water and then squeeze out the water until it's almost dry or until it`s as wet as you want it to be.

@christicoffey6463 I'm not rude. I'm being honest. She has a great tutorial. I'd rather her get into her Art and her knowledge than just use time to fill with useless things that amount to nothing. Most people will use their own magazines. It's just the grade of paper that may be important to know. As for the sanding block, I think most people, even people who are not familiar with construction, can recognize some sort of sandpaper device. AND YES, my parents are proud they raised a good Southern woman. Took care of daddy and momma until the day they went home to see Jesus.

@@donnaleeclubb119 Donnalee I think I understand you better now. You may be a "just the facts" person who has an extremely thin veneer of humor or tolerance for anything beyond the simplest explanation for anything. I know someone on the spectrum who sometimes behaves similarly, does what he always says is "cutting to the chase", paring everything down to the driest bare bones. Unfortunately, he thus deprives himself of a lot of rewarding joy in the process of ignoring the essence of entertainment. Kudos for taking care of your parents, few do so these days.
