I take it you're going down to gear 2 (sometimes 1) going into corners to slow the car down without braking to keep it balanced? You pretty much go straight back up to 3rd to control wheelspin. It's superb driving.
This is more to use engine brake and rotate better the car on entry. Since the traction is on rear, the engine brake will be applied only on rear wheels, so depending on the gear and timing of the downshift you can make the car understeer or oversteer on entry. As this car doesn't turn in very well I was using a lot more aggressive downshifts for that reason. I would do the opposite for cars like NSX, RS01 and etc where the entry of corners is very oversteery :)
I suck at these time trials but I found gold not too hard on this. The majority of it is just learning the track and after that it’s more forgiving on driving skill that a lot of the other ones.
Well done! Did the single sectors all on gold, but to get all right in 1 Full lap is very difficult for me. My first time is 7:07 :) (driven safely), i just have to find 30 seconds...
This is not just braking and steering at the right time to be successful here... the way he is shifting in most of the corners is very interesting and important too.
You gotta be using a wheel/pedal. On the controller its difficult to gauge how much pressure needs to be applied to smoothly accelerate and brake. The right stick is good for that though, ive found myself way more partial to it than the L2/R2. I use them in tandem so I'll accelerate with the right stick, and gently brake with L2. Or vice versa. On my Thrustmaster however it is so much easier to gauge the amount of pressure needed for acceleration or braking. I just noticed how finésse he was with the acceleration. That's how you mitigate any traction loss, wheel spinning out, or jutters between accel and decel.
Some key points to get faster in this lap: 1. a couple corners followed by a long long straight, those corners are very very important, very tiny mistake or accing a little bit late may result in a 1 sec loss 2. sector 8, you can see him insanely fast in sector 8. 3. the carosels, one in sector 7 and another little one in sector 9, to be honest I don't know how he managed to bring such a high speed into them... I tried hundreds of times in it, using different break timings, different paths... and I know I will definitely fail if I don't slow it down enough.
It feels like I’m going at this pace but I always get around 6:43 😂 I think the traction control is slowing me way down but the car is very hard to control when set to 0 and using controller.
i did it with TCS1 and controller. You dont need to switch of TCS, eventhough its faster in theory but you will fail many times more with pad, its not worth it. The NS experience isnt that hard, it forgives many mistakes. My tip: drive the full lap without any ghost the first 3-4 times to get a rhytm. Would you consider making a video to help out players using a control pad? If anyone could find the best strategies, it'd be you!
Do you use no traction on or off for this?
I used tcs on 0!
I can get gold in that challenge with ps5 control?
Do you have a wheel?
Awesome!
9.9 (not a 10 due to camera view... should be a realistic cockpit, not a realistic choice here).
