    You forgetting the wide body until the last hour 😂😂
    That thing makes a huge difference, since increase a lot of the tire width it self, it generates a lot more grip!
    Definitely wasn't easy for us to get the 6:42 as well, tried bunch of different setups and drove so many laps too, trying to lower just couples of tenths. I drove more than 1000km in a single day on this combo at some point on the weekend 💀

    Pro-tip: if you lose the rear braking into corner entry, move the brake bias forward. If you notice the car understeering on brake entry, most the brake balance backward. This can help substantially. If you want a decent suspension baseline, set camber to -3 front and rear. Then set damping and rebound to full soft. Starting with damping, begin doing fast laps until you get your peak lap time. When your adjustments begin to make the ride so harsh that you start to lose time, go back to the last "good" setting. Do this again with rebound. From there, fine tuning adjustments for understeer/oversteer should be done via the anti-roll bars. This isn't perfect by any means, but it will get you somewhere versus the terrible stock tunes that the game gives you.

      Great to see someone tuning the same way as myself. Though I usually leave dampers at default. Pretty much all sims especially GT has nearly perfect flat tarmac, which imo damper tuning wont have a very significant effect compared to ARB/spring rates.. also the toe is very important too.

    The best laptimes come at the limit of grip. That's what I've always heard. The closer you can get to drifting without drifting while covering as short a distance as possible, the better. This is why suspension and differential settings are some of the most important things to tune when at your limits, it changes where that limit appears.

    A few setup tips. Increase the rake of the car. Force the rear aero to function more, and increase the over all downforce generated by the body. Stiffen the rear until the car becomes too twitchy. Leave it on the limit. Do the same for softening the front. Start balancing the two. You can also adjust the camber based on your corning. Keep that contact patch on the road. Adjust the front toe outward to help with responsiveness.

  • @turtletrading4207
    @turtletrading4207 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Hey Super GT, viewer here. Here are my setup recommendations for you. If you have a twitchy car, the first this I would do is to increase the rear toe in to stabilize the car. The toe in, meaning rear tires pointing inwards, is usually measured in degrees, I am not sure what the GT7 bar unit is but you should try to crank it all the way to 1, usually 3 to 4 degrees of toe in should be fine in the rear. In the front, put some toe out, tires pointing outwards, one degree of toe out should be fine, again idk about the GT7 bar value. This setting should reduce some top speed. If you need more stability you should stiffen the front roll bar slightly compared to the rear to reduce steering. You had a good reflex to pay with the downforce, put more downforce in the rear to stabilize it. The wide body worked because you have more grip all over it is just physics and load transfer, having wider car reduces weight transfer giving you more grip. By tweaking and perfecting the balance of the car you could go even faster! Good luck!

  • @CHEF2077
    @CHEF2077 ปีที่แล้ว

    Opposite to many peoples belief, race cars are not really low for Nordschleife. The amount of compression and decompression the suspension has to do basically requires a decently high car. Also the suspension is usually fairly soft compared to other tracks, to accomodate the bumpiness of the track plus the insane amount of curb riding. I dont know how much this is applicable to GT but it hopefully helps understanding the tune settings.
    Also the track is a lot more about power and downforce, instead of speed in corners.
    Best example is comparing the GT2RS and GT3RS. All in all fantastic video as always Steve. Congrats on succeeding!

    one thing i learned from GT4 is that you can use the brake controller to change bias on cars that tend to understeer or oversteer so you can effectively brake into your cornering and almost guarantee a good entry angle. Increase brake bias to rear and this should usually be the case but you need to have a good balance between weight distribution and brake bias. also in general when tuning - always go for maximum raw power output and lightweight clutch/flywheel because it will increase acceleration even after having to downtune it for the challenge settings.

    Yooo. Well done Steve. Anyone going sub-7 on that TT deserves some respect. I got a 7.03 after about 3 days solid trying, refining my setup, probably about 80 laps maybe 100. I thought I was flying but honestly the replay showed a hell of a lot of time lost, inefficiencies etc.
    I think I fucked up by not adding anywhere near enough downforce. I tend to to focus on natural frequency and ride height and getting them in the right ballpark before moving on to any other settings, usually downforce is 3rd. Should maybe have started experimenting with aero settings earlier and eventually landed on a suspension setup more suited to higher downforce. Lesson learned perhaps.
    Putting together a solid lap on the ring is no joke. I loved every second of it though, hope you did too mate. That Fraga sliding! Yeah I find cars, especially rear wheel drive cars, are at their absolute best when there's quite a lot of sliding going on, the immediate boost out of corners is definitely worth a second or two on most circuits, maybe 10 or more on the ring. Takes an awful lot of spring frequency and ride height testing tho. You need a few hours spare to really get it down.

    Well done. I always hated the long straight when you know you’re on a cracking lap. My hands would get sweaty. I’d fight with all my might to not brake too early and/or tentatively because the more hesitant you are, not only are you already losing a little bit of time, but the more likely you are to make an error. You just had to full send it in the last few corners. 😁💪🏼

    One thing I can say is with this car you want to balance the weight as close to 50:50 as possible. Shorten the final gear, so when you enter the next gear from 3 to 4 and so on you’re only dropping about 1.2k rpm.
    Cars with less than 400hp do better with shorter gears. Especially this one.

    To be honest, it is somewhat refreshing to see that a driver, much better than me, can struggle a lot on the ring too. The ring need so much practice (and a good setup, what i'm not able to do). It took me soooo long to just drive a clean lap (counted as clean in Forza) on the ring, in a decent car, going to the top 6.5% in time trial.

    the best way i have found to tune this car, since the update about 3 months ago, is to put the acceleration sensitivity on the diff all the way down to 5, and get the weight distribution closer to the center. makes it much more predictable and react like a normal car.

    Absolutely love that when done in Forza with same specs (aero, 1053kg, 345hp) is around 670 points A-class and the record time on Nordschleife is over 7 minutes in A-class

    Im not even close to your level so I was struggling to get bronze in this one and never did. I was so frustrated! But watching your video actually made me realize just how dumb I am. For reasons I cannot begin to understand, I was under the impression that you could not modify cars in these time trials. I would just drive them bone stock and not touch a thing. I have no idea why I thought that but now hopefully I will do better in subsequent trials. Thanks man. Love your videos.

    At the end, after he made the time, I was expecting something along the lines of "Well, there was no doubt" *Ooooh YEEEES* "But....I think I can do one better.." And he goes again to continue attempting to improve even further. Not saying he SHOULD have, but watching this video, my hype was there and I kinda felt that was going to happen since there was still a decent amount of time left. Just something to see how much "Further beyond" he could go, but this is still a fantastic video without any doubt! Great job!

    Lift off the brake just Before you turn in, then open the throttle, and that is NSX rotation. You are used to driving Ferarri's but this isn't a Ferrari lol. Oh wow! you started driving like a Pro at the end!!! really good driving you did it!

    After the carousel, if you manage your throttle input, you can go through most of it in 3rd and little to no braking. This drastically effortlessly reduces your lap times by quite a bit.

    The trick was to add all the engine parts that increased torque then use power ecu restrictions to bring back to 345.
    Sucky part was you really needed the 6 star parts ticket for this car to be competitive. Either bore up S or stroke up S, I forget which one but was mandatory for a gold time

    • @dukedub
      @dukedub ปีที่แล้ว

      The part ticket engine mods added like 20 torque over what the base car could get while still being at 345

    Big thing I noticed is IFs 1st gear is over 90mph and 3rd gear went well into 120s mph. Steve's 3rd was maxing around 105mph. Lengthen the gears to pull a little tire spin out on corner exit.
