For what it's worth, I've had my Oscar I for 10 years now, because I wanted a simple heat exchanger machine, and it's still doing fine. At the time I bought it I thought it wasn't a very good looking machine, but compared to the II it now seems good looking.

hi sir🙋🏻‍♂️, can we do black flush and descaling on oscar 1 by our self? some says oscar 2 supposed to be done by professional service

hi Gail, I wonder whether, a machine with a knob is better than with an analogue button? is frothing should start with a low steaming power and gradually goes to a higher steaming power? (in that case, a machine with a knob should be better). I'm considering buying the Oscar II, but I'm afraid that analogue frothing button can't be use to produce a nice smooth crea - what do you think?

Is there no way to use a scale with the 2 and shut it off manually? I like the machine a lot but plan on weighing my shots...

Does it have a pid or does it keep a constant brewing temperature?

That's the most extreme VER1 to VER2 transformation of any product I've seen... (appearance aspect)
    They're like from different brands.
    Very nice showcase here.

Thanks for the video. I have the old Oscar and the biggest bugbear for me is having to open the steam valve to regulate the pressure every time i turn it on. This means i cannot connect the machine to a smart plug that can be timed to wakes up 30mins before me! . Does the Oscar II require the same procedure?

yep, the instruction on under the tank cover says you should do the same

The old one had the insulation.....at least mine did. Really efficient machine. and doesn't heat your house up in summer!

The original Oscar had insulation by default.

You cannot program the amount of liquid that you want in your cup, you can only program the time. Depending on the grind coarseness, dosage and tamping pressure, the resulting amount of coffee in, let's say, 30 seconds may vary.

I'm actually surprised the old one is still being produced. It looks prehistoric compared to the new one and, like you said, the price diff is negligible.

How is the brew group heated? Passively, by thermosiphon, electrically...how?

a restaurant where coffee isn't their main focus where you may offer coffee and latte's at dinner hours and you may do only one or two drinks an hour and no room for a grinder or no time to train the staff hence why these are NSF rated but you will never use these as your main machine if you are running a coffee shop or café bakery

Oscar II is ugly as hell. I don't like the "automatic" features as well. Creating a good shot is a craft! Oscar I for the win! Vade retro, satanas!
