    The NSF rating on the Oscar and the ability to get it in a plumb in option has me thinking of using 2 of them hooked up to a flojet as a way to feature the coffee I roast at the farmers market or dabble into some light catering

    How you would rate the espresso quality on both machines? I Guess Simonelli is easier to use than Rocket and the Rocket needs a longer time to get ready(warm-up?)

    Hi! Nice video. Currently have a Gaggia Classic Pro and making 3-4 milk drinks in the morning is a terrible experience. These 2 are exactly my options. Where I live (Guatemala) Oscar is like $600.00 cheaper than the Appartamento. I didn't use the water dispenser at all. Do you think pre infusion and the 9 bar in the OPV worth that extra? Do you know the pressure of the OPV in the Oscar? An opinion from a barista will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

      The biggest difference will be that hot water dispenser and OPV, and you could have an OPV installed on the Oscar if you wanted. It seems like the Oscar might be the better choice especially if you're making milk drinks, the steam wand is much faster and more powerful. The factory-set pressure could be around 10-15 bars. You will still be able to pull good shots with the high pressure as long as you adjust your espresso recipe (finer grind, higher dose). They are both very good machines but quite different so it just depends if you want easy, quick, and more automatic (Oscar) or more manual with extra features (Appartamento). Hope this helps!

      @@majestycoffee Thank you very much. I think will get the Oscar 2, I do 3-4 milk drinks in the morning and some espressos later in the day. So probably the easiest and fastest workflow is the most important to me. When the warranty expires will look into the 9 bar OPV mod... Again thank you for your reply and advice. :)

      We think you will be super happy with your decision! It's such a powerful machine for the price and can be infinitely upgraded with parts.

    In this video the group head in oscar 2 is leaking, just like mine. I suspect you haven't installed OPV?

      Correct! This is direct from the factory.

    Wondering why you mentioned the Appartamento would be good in a low volume cafe. Doesn’t it require certification to be used commercially?

    • @jhomrich89
      @jhomrich89 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not in all countries or states, plus there are some laws that if you don't gross over a certain amount of money they don't really care. So if this was in a small art gallery or small book shop where coffee isn't the focus it could work, but just to be safe I'd find a machine that's NSF rated like the Oscar or Bezzera BZ13.

    What is the volume of the exchanger tube on the Oscar II?

    • @majestycoffee
      @majestycoffee  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It couldn’t be much it’s a relatively small tube but we do not have those specifications. Nuova Simonelli may be able to answer that question better!

    • @checkwhatsleft4565
      @checkwhatsleft4565 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@majestycoffee I noticed that exchanger tube on the many other brands that often stick out quite a bit and wider as well, but it wasn't the case on the Oscar, it was in the boiler.

    how many maximum cups a day do you think both machines can produce?? how many per hour? approximately

    • @majestycoffee
      @majestycoffee  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Both machines (once fully heated) can brew back-to-back shots with very little turnover, getting back up to pressure/temperature in seconds. You will have to consider that the Rocket can only be used with a water reservoir that must be refilled every 5 or so drinks, and the Oscar has a larger tank option or the option to be direct-plumbed into a water source. So these machines can put out 10-30 drinks in an hour but you’ll have to keep in mind time/maintenance/wear on the machine. So if this is for a higher volume cafe you’ll want to consider a two group or a machine with dual boilers. Hope this helps, let us know if you have any further questions. Thanks!

    Oscar 2 has a factory installed opv now. And the Rocket is twice as expensive as the oscar 2.

    I’ve owned the Oscar II . After three other espresso machines and more than 10 years of house espresso making I couldn’t make a single thinkable espresso the Oscar is the WORST ESPRESSO MACHINE ever!!! And if you are know how should an espresso extract you notice also in this video that the extraction is awful. You see clearly how the extraction should be like for example on the Appartamento.

      The perfect espresso machine doesn't seem to exist.
      There is always something to criticize.
      Procitec Go makes a hell of a noise
      PID is located at very inconvenient place
      The lid of the watertank is sitting losely on top
      The sidepanels and back panel are connected to eaxh other in a clumsey way
      Gaggia Classic has an aluminium boiler
      The Silvia has a little and unhandy watertray
      Brewing temperatures are fluctuating
      After.all the Oscar ll seems a good choice to me.
