    10:25 this is why I love this channel out of all the videos I’ve seen on this tool you’re the only one that demonstrates this feature. Today my team had to drill a hole through a metal beam that rested inside of a wall to fish wire. The angle was so weird and we had such limited space. No ones drill could fit through the hole so took this out my bag and transformed it with the right angle and chuck attachments and blew their minds. This was my first tool ever I highly recommend

    For those that compare this to the Festool; I don’t own any Festool tools, but I own a bunch of M12 and M18 tools. This allows me to use my existing batteries and fits into my existing system perfectly. Also, this unit is more flexible.
    Great job, Milwaukee, for recognizing a great tool design - and improving on it.

    I've had mine for about a year and use it all the time, but I combined it with the hydraulic impact driver in one bag, and all my bits in another bag. This is the best I've used for camper woodworking (38 years).
    Tight space access is great.
    I bought this knowing I'd be solving a lot of issues other attempted designs did not quite solve... this did not disappoint.

    Milwaukee should include their multi volt charger so that when you buy a 12 volt system, all you need is a bare 18v tool with a free battery promotional and you're ready to rock and roll.

    Im a deck builder Vince , im going to tell you , this is a game changer when it comes to building Rails , the first time a saw it i have been waiting for it to come out, and the main reason is the offset drive! I saw you could not think of a situation when to use it , but when we are building composite rails , so meny times the body or your impact or drill wont allow you to align the tool to drive straight or even worse , a chuck would hit a spindle or top rail leaving a mark , this tool is a problem solver 👍🏻

      I went from m18 to m12 because I already had the multivolt charger. I bought a bare tool which came with a free battery. Next thing I knew I was hooked on m12 and now own a dozen or so m12 tools. (Some of which I bought as kits and now have several unused 12v chargers) unused = useless. I have only been buying M12 tools. I have a pair of 4.0 mAh batteries, a 2.0 mAh, and a ton of 1.5's to go with my assortment of tools...inflator, ratchet, hammer drill, hackzall, impact driver, light, cutoff saw, circular saw, and more. I have a ton of M12 2401 chargers. I wish they'd start including the multi because it would give me a reason to buy into the M18 line. There are tools in the line I would like.

I finally got around to buying this one. OMFG....best tool I ever owned! If you only own one cordless tool, it has to be this one. The uses for it are endless. Also, I am a big guy, this fits my hand perfectly and does not feel too small or under-powered. But it is also small enough and light enough for my wife to use without being cumbersome. M12 chargers only feed the wastelands because they pretty much all go into the trash. If Milwaukee starts putting the multi-volt charger into the M12 tool kits they would be helping save the environment.
    They would open the door to M18 tools when selling M12 tools.

    Yes it should be included. Many people are using both m12 and m18 tools on the same job. Having the chargers combined saves space and equipment to carry. However on chargers I do not carry individual chargers on the job, I have the multi fast charger that charges 3 batteries at once and it covers m12 and m18 anyway. It has a top handle and I modified it so the cord is detachable if it gets damaged. Some tools only come in m12 others come in both, others come in only m18.

    The direction switch got me at first. But if you hold it up higher on the gun with your thumb on the left of the body and your index finger to the right. Then pull the trigger with your middle finger. The direction switch makes a lot more sense and is super easy to just move your thumb to adjust. I find holding it this way gives you more control for fine work. I’m guessing that’s how it was designed?

    There is a magnet for bit retention in the base tool. So I don't believe you "need" to use the hex adaptor unless you want the additional retention that the lock ring provides. I use mine without a head on it, and it holds the bits just fine. Same goes for the right angle adaptor, it has a magnet for bit retention.

    This tool is a triple-take kind of thing. At first glance, it seems genius. It’s one driver that’s a drill, driver, right angle, and an offset which those of us that use tools know how handy that is. Then when you’re standing there thinking about buying it, you question yourself and realize you’d be better served by getting a drill, an impact, and the stuff you need because these Swiss-army tools never do anything as good as their traditional, conventional counterpart, and then it seems kind of silly. But then you are in a place where you don’t need the “best” tool, you need “a” tool, and you don’t have much space so that’s a premium. Then this thing makes sense again. This is the perfect apartment/home tool because it’s effectively half a shelf’s worth of drills/drivers/accoutrements all in a bag. You can toss it in a backpack or keep it in the car and it’s out of the way everywhere.
    It’s not the best version of any of the things it does, but the best tool is the one you have right then.

My favorite M12 tool, by far. Use it constantly. Just replaced boards on my deck with heavy deck screws that I drilled out first, and the tool went on forever with an M12 6.0 battery. I always come to your channel before I get a new Milwaukee toy. Thanks, Vince - as always.

    Another positive for the flexiclick is not needing to remove and reposition the attachments to change the locking angle. It gets locked on, and then you can pull on it to reposition the direction. Would love if you could compare this to the new Bosch 12v brushless flexiclick. It's not "technically" available in the US, but you can order it from Germany.

    This kit ROCKS! It has virtually replaced my Makita drill/driver combo kit (which I really do love and have used hard for close to 10 years). I still carry do carry both kits with me cuz sometimes it’s nice to not have to change bits or attachments. The Milwaukee kit is just super light weight and versatile. It has enough guts to run 3” deck screws, not all day like my makita, but it’s a great little tool. Oh, and the case is big enough to carry extra bits and a multi bit screwdriver all in one nice, compact kit. I’m pretty much a makita guy, but Milwaukee knocked this out of the park, except for the reverse switch being on top, but it’s not that bad. Thx VCG. AWESOME CHANNEL.... Yes please do a comparison with an M12 drill and impact. Would this be a better option for a homeowner vs the M12 drill and impact combo?

    • @jeffjohansen6881
      @jeffjohansen6881 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the Installation drill, the M12 Fuel 1/2" drill, the 3/8" (non-Fuel) drill and the M12 Fuel impact driver. IMHO, the Installation drill is not quite as powerful as either the Fuel 1/2" drill or the Fuel impact driver. Not far off, but is is slightly noticeable. For the homeowner that does occasional work, the Installation drill should suffice so long as you don't need a chuck that goes over 3/8". The Installation drill basically does it all and is very nice to use.
      There are some downsides to only having one tool though. If you had two, you can keep a drill bit in one and a driving bit in the other and not have to switch back and forth is probably the biggest reason, but most homeowners aren't going to often see this be an issue.
      If you're not a tool connoisseur, the Installation drill is probably great for most homeowners that don't use these tools a lot, and that offset piece is going to be jandy for some things around a house that a regular drill just can't do. If you do a fair amount of projects, you might want to start out with the drill/driver combo, and then maybe add ther installation drill if you see the angle and offset capabilities being something you find useful.
      As for the electronic reversing / lockout switch, sometimes you just want to twist a fastener in that last bit by hand, and the lockout lets you use the tool to do that (the drill does that too).

      Same. I own almost a dozen different M12 tools and have a ton of 2401 M12 chargers that come with all of them...trying to sell the extras for a few bucks. If I had a multi charger I'd own M18 stuff too. My DeWalt stuff is 12/20 charger and that's why I have a few of each of those.

    Sad I am a year late, but I finally found a good use for this... no I wouldn’t use the bag it comes with.
    But I would get a small black top pack out, so I can keep the drill in there with the accessories in the smaller compartments.
    Basically making a small m12 handy man kit. Setting it up with also the m12 multi tools + a couple extra tools for light duty work.
    So instead of taking all my pack out all I have to do is grab my m12 pack out kit an it has everything I would need to do the bare minimum throughout a day of everything.

    I want you to test fast left-right-left-.. switching with drilling in-between.
    Sometimes my drill bit gets stuck in a wall.
    My strategy is: drill left around and pull to get it unstuck, turn drilling direction to right/try again (gets sometimes stuck again), rinse and repeat ... Thanks!
    I use a 12V Metabo battery drill and it is easy to do the left right left ... switching WITH ONE HAND!
    With my other hand I hold e.g. a vac hose.

    I use power tools, mainly a drill, to tune marching drums. The m12 not only helps with balance that reduced fatigue from m18 for me, but the right angle adapter on this seems very tempting so i dont have to keep holding my wrist up for the flat heads on snare & tenor drums. The regular chuck is no problem on vertical drums such as bass drums, but this seems to be super helpful

    • @marlymar4
      @marlymar4 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@imacrazyguy5831 you know what's interesting.....back in 2006 through 2014 the impact wasn't popular, the drill was. I use to buy DeWalt back in the day, I use to buy the combo hammer drill/impact because it was the better deal. I never used the impact back then. The drill did the trick especially in low gear like 1....I could drive lag bolts 3" long 5/16" dia with ease. I use to work for all of the cable providers and I went through some hammer drills....at one point I had 3 DeWalt combo sets with 3 impacts still brand new in the carrying bag. Needless to say I switched to the impact in late 2014. I don't know why something just told me to start using it and I haven't looked back. Impacts are super popular nowadays but I will say this, a drill in low a torque setting is way more powerful that a 1/4" impact bar none.

      I carry the Bosch PS22 because of the huge weight difference of over half a pound between the Flexi click with the quarter inch hex and that tool. The advantage of this installation driver is that it weighs 2 pounds with a battery, and the M12 fuel 2402 screwdriver weighs 2 pounds without a battery. I would think that if you had the installation driver and the surge and a few batteries you be straight. I carry my three tools with two additional batteries and a menagerie of bits and no charger. My volt charger is in my Sortimo/Bosch 3D Boxx next to my 18v OMT. If it’s a long call or job.

  • @tumelin

    The forward reverse selector seems dumb and looks like a pain in the ass to operate, everything else seems like a win. I use the regular m12 screwdriver heavily every day, this seems like it could be a good replacement and the right angle attachment could have come in handy too many times to count. You're spot on about the dual charger, I expanded from the m18 into some m12 tools in part because I already had the dual voltage chargers that came with my m18 kits. I would definitely like to see some comparisons to other tools, I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a jack of all trades multi tool or if its a solution in search of a problem.

    • @damann3303
      @damann3303 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Selector location is idiotic.
      The multiple heads are very handy for "installers". Lotsof times a fastener needs to be put close to an inside corner or a bolt undone in a narrow space. Or leveling mechanism adjusted next to an edge. The offset and right angle heads are perfect for these situations without having to carry multiple tools.
      In a shop setting its value is diminished.

    I have been using mine every day for around 1 and a half to 2 years, and have abused the hell out of it with up to 1&5/8" hole saws into stainless electrical panels, and the driver is every bit as good as the day I bought it. The only thing that is showing some wear is the drill chuck from some pretty ridiculous abuse. This thing isn't the most powerful tool in the world, but as a controls tech/Industrial electrician, this is by far my favorite tool I have ever bought. The only cordless tool with a pocket clip that I can stand climbing a ladder with.
