  • Now that we're finished servicing all the mowers the International B276 needs it's annual service. We replace the Oil Filter, Fuel Filter, clean the Oil Bath Air Filter and of course replace the engine oil. I also run through resetting the tappet clearances as I've noticed at least one that was becoming a bit noisy. Two other smaller jobs we did was to replace the hydraulic lift arm levelling assembly and the exhaust silencer.
    The very exciting news though is that Anglo Agriparts have agreed to offer our viewers a discount code for spare parts you purchase from them. Watch the video to find the special discount code. This promotion is only valid for retail customers, trade customers cannot use this code. It is very important that you remember to enter the code using the online checkout. The discount cannot be applied retrospectively. Please visit:
    www.anglo-agriparts.com to view the parts range and make your purchase.

    Your extra o ring for the fuel filter is for the filter drain screw in the filter bowl if fitted. It is normally a plastic srew.

    Is there not supposed to be a spring at the bottom of the oil filter housing? Another video online from here in Canada says it's supposed to be there and it gets lost often when dumping the oil from it. You didn't mention it but they claimed the filter is not working without it. My B-414 has never had a spring in there while I've had it so I'm going to switch to a spin-on filter assembly shortly.

      Hi ghorner11, I can’t remember specifically, but every cartridge style filter I’ve ever seen has a spring loaded canister of some form. So if yours doesn’t then yea your filter is probably being bypassed, which is not a good thing. When you’re installing the new filter you should feel the resistance from the spring during the last 1/4 to 1/2 inch of the canister travel. I hope that makes sense. More simply, if your filter cartridge is essentially floating around in the canister then it’s not filtering. Hope this helps. 😉

    Thank for sharing your video. Very useful indeed. I have a similar 276 with a cab. I am trying to add some hydraulic outlet and return valves for a wood splitter. Do you have any photographs of your pipe configuration? The outlet seems to be by the gear shifter but where is your return? Advice /information much appreciated.
    Thanks Simon

      @WaterhouseForde  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Simon, sorry for the late response. Mine doesn’t have a return pipe fitted. It is for a single acting cylinder application, such as a tipping trailer.
      I seem to recall reading somewhere about a return port. I will need to have a look at the tractor today and see if that jogs my memory.

    Great video and tractor ! What kind of check chains do you have on the 276?

    • @WaterhouseForde
      @WaterhouseForde  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Matt, thank you. They are more like expanding bolts than check chains. They came with the tractor and are really neat. Basically you have a long "nut" which is threaded with opposing threads in each end I.e. one a left hand thread the other a right hand thread. The eye-bolts thread in on either end and you have a lock nut on one side. So as you turn the long nut it extends or shortens. Basically works the same as the top-link. I've not researched if they are generally available or not. I just assumed they were standard on these tractors.

    I have a B414 that is going to need a total rewire has been changed to a alternator from generator. All the wiring is bad and they put an electric fuel pump on it going back original on everything I can. Anything on wiring would be great. The serial number is 358 with a 4 two inches to the right any help there would be nice thanks.

    • @WaterhouseForde
      @WaterhouseForde  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Rex, sounds like someone has butchered it a bit! Wiring is not my favourite topic, luckily it’s relatively simple on these tractors. That said mine has a literal mess of wires behind the dashboard, which I don’t understand because there really aren’t a lot of electrical components. The charging circuit is probably the most complicated that I can think of. On the Anglo Agriparts web site, Andrew Chapman has written an article on testing the generator which may help a bit. 👍😉

    nvm what i said, the panels on that thing looks worse and worse the closer i look, did someone crash it at some point???

    • @WaterhouseForde
      @WaterhouseForde  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Max, LoL it has been a working tractor all it’s life, except for about a year when it was restored around 2014/5. I bought it from the guy who restored it. He did a little bit of work to straighten the panels etc. But it’s far from perfect. Definitely not in show condition! I originally bought it for light duties around our small holding so I was not too concerned about it being perfect. It’s still a pretty tractor (from far) but more importantly it does what I need it to do. 😉👍

    • @WaterhouseForde
      @WaterhouseForde  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Karsten, I used google translate so I hope I’ve understood your question. I think you asked how to change the hydraulic oil on an International? If I remember correctly there are 2 drain plugs, one at the rear and another further forward. Be warned there is a lot of oil in there so make sure you have enough containers to catch it all. I think it is about 15 litres. Once all the oil has drained out you should remove and clean the pickup filter. You will find this on the right hand side near to where your right foot would be when sitting on the tractor. You have to remove the pickup pipe and the filter should be on the end of that. Once done replace the drain plugs, replace the seal around the pickup pipe and then you can start refilling with a thick gear oil. I use an W80 grade gear oil. The filler is behind the seat on the top right corner of the top cover. It’s a square drive plug on mine. It’s not a very big hole so you will need a decent funnel and lots of patience. It takes a long time get this thick oil through a funnel! 😬. You fill until the oil is touching the bottom of the pipe that is the fill tube. When you look into the filler hole (with a torch) you will see what I mean. I hope this helps and good luck. 😉👍

    • @WaterhouseForde
      @WaterhouseForde  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Karsten - there is a dial in front of the seat that controls the rate of decent (and accent I think) on the B276. I can't remember which one (there are two dials) One of them switches the hydraulic pressure to the auxiliary circuit and the other controls the rate. Maybe try adjusting these first before you go too far with dismantling everything. I hope this translates okay. If not let me know and I will try to explain it more carefully and with some pictures/video.
      Either way - good luck I hope you sort it out. Mine needs an overhaul, but first I must finish this Ferguson!
