I love radio dramas or narrated stories too, the more intriguing and complicated the faster I fall asleep!! Lush.
The John Le Carre radio dramas are superb to sleep to and The Windbear is very funny, but audio quality a little rough. 😊

I have enjoyed this story so much, I 'm sure the whole street could hear me laughing. S/M is a genius, the extremes of Russia & the early 20th century U. S.A. mentality is priceless, so hopelessly absurd!. I will be sad when the stories run out. Thanks, excellent to the max!, Cheers!

Arrogance such as this is not confined to us Americans, though we certainly have our share of it. I was working for a company that was owned by a German-born couple that then resided in Sweden or Denmark when the attack of 911 happened. This was an older couple that still espoused the regime of Hitler. The couple had been told that all air traffic in and out of the US was shut down with no exceptions. It was reportedly the wife that stated that no one would or could prevent them from flying into the US, as they owned a business here. Their private jet left Europe and then found itself escorted by US Military Fighter Jets to a military facility in Greenland.
I have often wondered how long this couple's arrogance lasted after meeting with US Military interrogators. They had not packed for the climate of Greenland but for the climate of the Georgia, USA in early fall. That would have made for a somewhat chilly awakening.
As to American mentality, I'm afraid it has gone in directions I would never have dreamed of even 20 years ago. Our beloved freedoms are being eroded from the inside. The Statue of Liberty is nothing more than a reminder of what could have been, a relic of some misbegotten dream. Our flag is much like the Christian Bible, as it can be used to say or represent anything anyone wants it to. Neither of them have a place in my home.

Man I'm glad I found this channel, I love to read but my eyes are failing me. Also I'm almost deaf, too many years of loud construction work, so I turn on the closed captions and turn up the magnification, it works! Thanks for the videos.

I am so happy to hear a good narrator now! I had stopped visiting this site after I got very disenchanged with the awful AI narration.
Thank you and now I will visit regularly!

This is still AI - possibly not so many glaring mistakes but quite enough !

Yes, still AI. But pretty good. Kind of makes the reading boring.

As a nurse I used to do night shifts with a nurse who was like Harrington. It was hellish.

The irony of Mr Harrington's Washing, of all things, being read by a bot, staggers the mind.
