    I'm non muslim (Atheist) and I've decided that I will be fasting for the month of Ramadan this year for the experience and to see if I have the will power to do so and to show support to others who don't have the luxury of food and water every day❤

      @@bearkinsbear8409 I'm also not sure if you're familiar with Suhur, but it's a meal we have before the crack of dawn, maybe at 2:30am or 3am. Personally I wake up to have Suhur and pray, then go back to sleep and wake up at 9am or something so I will spend a few hours of fasting asleep 😅

    I am not Muslim but I asked my Muslim friend if I could start Ramadan with him, and he was told me what exactly it entails. I have type 1 diabetes and he referred me to a scholar which had me ask my doctor if it was safe. Well, I test my blood sugar often, and if it dropped too low I would have to break my fast. So the second to the last day I had to break my fast because my sugar dropped really low. However, it was a great experience, they truly keep in mind medical conditions and if you ask Muslims will usually try to explain or refer you to someone who can.

    I got a Quran from a very sweet Muslim lady during Ramadan. I was on break from classes & I was getting a sandwich from a mom & pop shop & I was casually talking to the lady at the register. She owned the shop with her husband & was telling me I made a good choice, but she couldn't eat it today. I mentioned how it must be difficult to work during Ramadan because you're smelling the food all day. She got SO excited that I knew about the holiday & handed me the book. She said to study it & if I have any questions to let her know. I unfortunately didn't see her after I finished at the school, but I still have the Quran. That was almost six years ago.

    As a non-Muslim in the US, I feel severely undereducated on this topic, and want to learn more! Does everyone partake in the fasting of Ramadan? Like young children, the elderly, pregnant women, people with certain medical conditions (eg diabetes), or others who may see some problems with not eating for so long?

    • @fatematuzzahraoyshe6932
      @fatematuzzahraoyshe6932 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Fasting is not required for children or people who might have health issues for fasting. Us Muslims usually are festive about Ramadan because of all the extra blessings we can achieve from Allah, and also for the amazingly delicious Iftar (food we eat after we break our fast).♥️🤤🤤🤤

      Actually the beginning and end of Ramadan are determined by a moon sighting. If we spots the new crescent moon that's when first day of Ramadhan started. So Ramadhan also can works by astronomical calculations. So we already knew the date of next year's Ramadhan to prepare your body and mentally.
      Hence why Islam known as the moon and stars because in Quran Allah ask us to observed it.

    • @jihadjb6098
      @jihadjb6098 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well, it’s kind of like Christians celebrating Christmas; some might not but technically the logical answer should be everyone does!
      Also it’s not at all disrespectful! In the contrary, that’s a super nice thought and can make an amazing Ramadan starter ❤️Also I see what you mean when describing yourself as a white person in this context but I think it’s worth it to remind everyone that we have a LOT of white brothers and sisters (including Sana’s husband, he’s a white revert!) race doesn’t mean anything in Islam ☺️
