I decided to grow my hair out 3 years ago when I realized my hair had gone white, I had been getting various shades of ash blonde and light ash brown streaked through my roots every few months...by this last summer my hair was past my collar bones, except the fringe which was just past my chin. I went in for a cut, a blunt cut just at the top of the collar bones, which meant 3 inches off the back...my fringe/bangs may not be caught up but the first cut in 3 years took 10 years off my face (I'm 60) then I did a temporary color of Royal blue on half, that took even more years off, and with the mask we must wear I can pass for 30-35!!!!

Awkward stages are really hard for me. When I grow my hair long enough, I got thick hair, my head looks like a mushroom! Then I can't even look in the mirror how awful I look, so I go to the barber, cut my hair short and instantly regret what I did, and want my hair back so hard every single time!! I think I could past that awkward situation!

@@heron9580 The sides grow faster than the hair on top. So you should start growing out with long hair on top and short on sides in order to avoid puffy sides. After a while, when your hair on top is long enough, you can start growing out your sides. I'm not an expert, but this is what i did so i hope this helps:-)

I remember growing my hair for a long time and was careful on washing it. I did get it trimmed after a long time but after it grew out again, it became a lot thicker then my hair was really nice and dark brown. I am growing my hair out again and want to different stuff with it, I'm already 5 weeks in!

I totally agree with your point of using lighter products for longer or in general thicker hair. I never understood why so many people on youtube etc. recommend hair clays and matte pastes especially for thick hair. Even a quiff sometimes naturally has too much weight to it, so a dry clay might achieve the opposite effect by weighing the hair down.
A good Styling cream with medium to high hold and natural shine should be fine :D

My hair is hard to grow out because it’s straighter on the top and curlier in the back and sides, so the top gets all long and stuff and the back always looks way shorter.

I've ruined my hair 3 times by cutting it myself during the awkward stage. Every time I promised I won't do it again. But I probably will. Last time I undone about 5 months growth

Hi Robin, wanted to say I haven’t visited your channel in a few years, and I remember you from when you just started years ago, and I’m glad to see how much you’ve advanced.
And just a question, you don’t seem like a very tall man (5’7~ correct me if I’m wrong), and so am I. I was wondering what kind of advice do you have to make us lower end guys look taller? I am in law school and a bit worried about suits. Besides tailoring and slimming them, any other advice?

      Hey Netanel,
Good to have you back. I'm 5'10 (180cm), so fairly average in height. Don't wear longline and have everything sitting on the waist. Will help to build proportions. Tailoring where possible really will help.

I just grew my hair into a man bun with shorter sides. What kind of product would you recommend to condition and hold hair from those gross flyaway/strays when pulled back? I have coarse dryish wavy hair. I was thinking of trying Kevin Murphy Free Hold...Thanks!

I use 1 drop of argan oil in my dry hair.....1 drop. If you use too much it makes hair greasy. Have you ever considered a coconut oil hair mask? It works wonders for dry hair but only do it once a month....because too much actually increases hair dryness over time

My hair use to curl and poof out really bad. Started washing my hair with natural tallow based bar soap and now it's softer, doesn't dry out, lays flatter, and curls less. Who new ditching the harsh chemical based shampoos would help so much.

I have thick strong hair. Now it got dry and rough, it used to be smooth. Not sure if its because of the gel. How can I make it silky again and not rough and dry?

Currently growing mine out! I have a goal of 12 to 14 inches to donate to wigs for kids. Currently at 5 inches max, maybe 4.5. Definitely at the awkward stage with my thick hair haha. Do you have a video on styling products? I'm tired of looking like justin bieber, or shaggy from scoobie doo on a good day haha

Personally, growing my hair out, I’ve realised that my hair is weaker and falls out more especially when using a shampoo. my hair also feels more flat and the scalp is a bit more visible than usual, so getting it cut a little after 5 weeks is best

My hair goal is what Colin Farrell had in the 2006 Michael Mann film; “Miami Vice”, and I recently had to get my maintenance cut to help even it out because the lower back was getting out of control. Glad I did because it’s helping the awkward stage be less awkward.

I have shaved of all my hair last year in april. So it could grow on around the same lenght everywhere. Still didnt go to a barder. I am at that stage that the sides have a mind of their own and just point to everywhere lol. I have thin hair so its quite annoying from time to time but i wont cut it short again. But should i go to a barber to clean it up a little bit? And i wash my hair every 2-3 days. Dont know if thats good lol. I Need some advice lol
