Most beautiful version of this I've heard... and with ORGAN! So many arrangements are beautiful but aren't the same without the organ. I can always tell when I'm listening to the original Andre Previn/London Symphony Rollerball version when I hear, @5:51, what sounds like a member of the string section whack their bow on a music stand. Strange that wasn't removed in post.

I will never forget the first time I heard this piece of wonderful music - I was 16 years old and just finished my sophomore year in High School - I went to see this movie called "Rollerball" - I knew a little about it from friends and was a fan of James Caan - I know back then when your that age Classical music isn't suppose to be anything but boring - I myself found it very deep and profound even at that early age - anyway, This Is My Favorite Piece Of Music Of All Time... I have '6' different recordings of this wonderful piece By Albinoni and for some reason Andre Previn was able to bring out everything that was originally written for this masterpiece... It also woke me up to the fact that you could be a male jock (football & track) and still have a complete other side to yourself.... 4 years after high school I went to College at night while working days - I would listen to nothing but classical music when I got home to study.... and of course this was my mainstay piece of music - and still is...... Best enjoyed by sitting back and listening while shutting out everything else - for just a short while..........

I always cry when I see this scene, where Jonathan finally turns his back on Ella, pointing out he wanted nothing but her in his life and comes to the conclusion that she is now nothing but a part of the system he hates so much ...

Like many of you, I too was very deeply moved by the immensely sad yet exquisitely beautiful dimension the Adagio added to this vision of a future world ruled by corporate masters. Sadly, I think about today, wonder if it is becoming reality and then worry that there will be no 'Jonathan E.' to point the way out of it. Humans have survived everything the Universe has thrown at us so far, but can we survive our own capacity to destroy the Earth and all within? Only God knows .......

Saw this movie when it first came out. I actually snuck in a drive-in. Climb the back wall and went directly to the snack bar area. Also there was a area where kids can play on swing sets all in the sand. Sat down on a bench and watch the whole movie. They had speakers built in the bottom of the balcomy
roof top to hear the movie. Frozed my butt for 2 hours sitting there and it was all worth it. The next day I bought the vinyl soundtrack to it at The Record Factory. Still have it. Believe it or not - true story (from 976-CREOLEMAN).

I just watched the movie for the first time in over 40 years. The moment this piece came on when Jonathan walked away from his wife under the tree, it blew me away. I hunted this down after the movie. What an amazing piece of music. And there is the amazing part.... the piece was written in the 1950s by a biographer. Not by Abinoni in the 1800s. Check it out! Not kidding. It's like finding out that Roger Ebert made Schindler's List, not Spielberg.

that was remo giazotto…as an music archivist, he found a remnant of this albinoni composition and transcribed it…which there is evidence for…but its kinda unclear if he really composed this whole thing…but its likely that its actually an embellishment and direct derivative of albinoni’s original work

Bartholomew (Actor John Houseman) : You're bargaining for the right to stay in a horrible social spectacle. It has its purposes. You've served those purposes brilliantly. Why argue when you can quit? And you say you want to know why decisions are made. Your future comfort is assured. You don't need to know! Why argue about decisions you're not powerful enough to make for yourself?

Bartholomew ( Actor John Houseman) :
No player is greater than the game itself. It's a significant game, in a number of ways, the velocities of the ball, the awful physics of the track, and in the middle of it all: men - playing by an odd set of rules. It's not a game man is supposed to grow strong in, Jonathan. You appreciate that, don't you?
