I'm impressed by the interviewer asking clever questions, she knows the subject. The scholar expounds without bias, he makes Kevin Rudd sound like the Daily Mail of the UK. 😊

I'm not a highly educated person😮, sorry. I do have good wisdom and good common sense, and I can tell you from my heart and soul that Taiwan is missing the mark when they don't recognize the democracy and the successful government of mainland China! I will never understand why people want to run after the USA and it's fractured unorganised democratic government.

Thank you CGTN, XU & Roland, for sharing this excellent analysis and storying of China's democracy with us. It is a timely lesson for serious students of democratic practice and outcomes, especially given the somewhat retarded position being taken by an Anglo/American led West that presents an either or choice between democracy and autocracy. It is also good to know that at least some Australian academics have a well informed, balanced understanding of Chinese democracy, while few if any of Australia's political class do so.

One simple, commonsense standard, by which to judge a society, is, Is it safe to walk there on the street? In America, the answer is NO, it is not safe to walk here on the street, not in cities, not in the suburbs, not in the daytime, and certainly not at night. If it is not safe in one area of the country, then it is not safe in the country, period. There is no public safety in the USA. We have 100 gun deaths PER DAY, in the USA, not to mention the numbers of killings with other weapons. And what about public health? We have in the USA, in 2021, 117k overdoses. Decent family life in America, has by and large been utterly destroyed. What about public order? If rioting could rationally be expected, nothing is done to prevent it, because of "optics" (Jan 6) Consider the riots in summer, 2020. Where was the law? There WAS NO PUBLIC ORDER. So, when we lecture others, about "human rights" or "propety rights," What are we talking about?

    • @jamesgathings6364

    • @francinelong2264

What you are describing here about the collapse of rule of law is a feature of the on-going Marxist revolution to destroy America. The end result will be a Totalitarian oligarchy like the Chinese "Socialist Democracy" being so unctuously praised in this video.

Interesting, to say the least. This professor explains the issues in a profound, rational way, making the thing more understandable. The question of meritocracy and the assimilation of ancient learnings like confucionism or taoism would be also interesting to explain, in his point of view.
Australia could get much profit from the learnings of this professor. But the western countries' mindset hardly would meet that leverage.

Prof. Roland Boer was a fantastic very distinctive academic professor if he becomes an Australia Prime Minister it will be good for bridging the two country gap between Australia and China where it will benefit the two nations. Thank you for sharing.

USA is much better with self-criticism than China in my opinion. I am not American and not exactly european. So my opinion is not biased at all. I was listening few of your streams and it was always a disappointment. The guest is complementing your country which is understandable as he is a very polite and educated man invited to speak by your side. Your leader is self-appointed and this fact speaks loudly for itself. This is a huge flaw in your “perfect” system of government. This is not a democracy but you can give it whatever name you want and no one can not stop you.

No need to argue / debate on China democracy, unending arguments & debates is the US "best".
Just simply use this one only:
"The very fact & one real fact China able to uplift 700mill China citizens from poverty & prosper into strong middle income citizens alone is enough to show how US govt & politicians have failed their own people"
Now it is time for CGTN to ask this "Which country has ever & able to to achieve this ?"
We are only talking about just 700mill not yet the Rich, very rich & conglomerates rich.
Add US citizens + whole of EU still will not even close.

Great interview. Grassroots politics - brilliant. Nothing that our government does here in Australia has any input from the people. If asked whether we want USA military bases (of course America would say they don't have nuclear or military bases here, they just have some personnel for training purposes) here, the people would say Hell No. We are stagnant and immature, but then again we are still a colonized country so no surprise.

You can call what you want. The fact of the matter is the system must be flexible, interchangeably, reversible and dynamic to suit market conditions which had been raped, mutilated by gangster all around. Human are living, system must not be defined in cast stone. No point to discuss on the ever changing and evolutionary methods.
