I've said this before that I think all the many gay jokes and innuendos can be off-putting and even offensive to a lot of motorcycle enthusiasts. Can you name even one openly gay rider in any national or international championship? Fabio is about as close as we get.

I support future BBB's to still be released in parts! This way you get more revenue to make more content, and our enjoyment lasts longer. I'd rather have six 25min episodes rather than one 1h episode.
I think you misunderstood - we meant shoot the whole lot and roll out as usual in episodes but avoid the big gaps in prepping, leaving and end product. Basically condense the whole process rather than months of lag
@@FortyFourTeeth I would avoid cutting into the finding the problems and fixing them episodes. Those are some of the best parts and are integral given that it's a _budget_ bike battle.

The Honda is by far the clear winner. I understand the love for the Yamaha, but for a bike challenge like this, love isn't a factor.

I’m guessing you may have considered this, voting a winner could be done via sticker sales for each team. I’d pay to vote, I’m sure many others would too. It could at least be factored into the decision. Absolutely loved this one, i didn’t miss the drinking one bit. Best bike content on TH-cam by a mile. Looking forward to the next one!! 😎
The blade is the obvious winner here, from it actually working from the very beginning, and throughout the entire trip. Nobody minds replacing a shock, or upgrading the brake lines and pads, they’re wear and tear parts. What people don’t want is a bike that doesn’t run and has a mysterious problem requiring extensive diagnostics
That’s ultimately what you want from a bike. Something that works, and something that can be reliable and depended upon. Even on the trip the Yam broke down.
Even when people are on a budget, they’re going to look for something with the least amount of mechanical issues, even if it means paying a little more. Nobody wants a bike sat in the garage or the shed for weeks that doesn’t run at all and needs a million things checking and replacing. And who else actually has their own personal garage that helps them out with diagnostics and replacing bits, complete with a rolling road lol
Depends on circumstances. Have bought plenty of old vehicles in my life that had some kind of "mystery issue" that basically made the owner just get shot of it, super cheap. Most times it was not a costly fix at all.. worn ball joint or split plastic hose or something. Sometimes it's worth the gamble. Bought a mates old non running zxr750l2 for about 500 spondoolies (was running before being laid up in a garage). Just needed a bit of tlc to get it back to the world of the living, and the fact it owes me so little makes it damn hard to get rid of. The main difficulty now seemed to be getting parts for it

cbr should accelerate quicker 🤷🏻♂️ 120-125 hp 223 kg yzf vs 130 hp 200 kg cbr really yzfr is quicker ? i dont think so 👌🏻 yzfr and its shorter gearing is irrelevsnt for max acceleration if it have shorter gearing 🤭 something is not right with this cbr if it accelerate slower 🤭 👌🏻

Guy, please accept this constructive criticism. These have lost the humour of the first couple, it's getting a tiny bit stale. Maybe mix things up, freshen things up a bit. Next BBB with the two cheapest Harley Davidsons in England would be a refreshing change of direction.

As a Ducati rider, I'd consider myself a neutral observer. So: the Fireblade won, because, let's be honest, it just looks better and aged way better. 😉😘
But that's just my opinion. Everybody to their own. How boring would it be if everybody would like the same bikes?

Yamaha guy all my days, had a 94 750R in 96 and a 94 'Blade in 97, best days on a bike were on that YZF. Swear that CBR just wanted me dead. Still, Fagan has this BBB, even though my rose tints, are all Yammy, the 'blade won this one, Barrony!

5. Bigger budget for some fixes.
6. Superbikes, rinse, repeat. How about some other bike types.

Im relatively new to this channel,but im watching everything now.i think its the best thing on,its exactly how me and my mates behave and speak to each other.and to say i can feel the deep moist love for the bikes would be a massive understatement.you guys remind me how cool it is to be a motorcyclist and that all bikes have their merits.keep it up!!

Two stubborn old queens and their steeds!!!
I like either one but (predictably) the blade was the clear winner. Budget? The YZF still needs a few hundred quid of tank to make it whole and then its still going to sell for much less anyway even after spending more on it.
By the time they are sold the blade is going to have cost considerably less.
The suspension test was just daft and they are both pretty adjustable so thats a wash.
Then there's performance. Even completely stock blades that shape are good for late 160's on a runway and they have the gearing (if not the power) to run a fair bit more with enough space too. Its a good 5-8mph quicker than the YZF even with the YZF having a can on.
Its also lighter, sharper handling and generally just better in pretty almost every way.
The YZF may win the 90's cool contest - infact it would get my vote - but there's no getting away from the fact it got its a55 handed to it this time.
Maybe next time grab some better data on the performance and handling sides? A best of three dyno run, airfield run and lap of a track would be good. Preferably with an independent rider and some real data logging.
Slipstreaming in traffic on a road isn't really a level test.

Like the yam would even be able to go fast enough for Al to make use of the slipstream 😂
The fact the yam needed slipstream to go faster, shows that it just isn’t faster lol
@@CrazyPanda688 They never were. The blade just makes more power everywhere and a lot more the further down the rpm range they go. Its also lighter and has a smaller frontal area. 161 is about right for a YZF and 168 about right for a blade when they're stock.
Of course that YZF seems to be on shorter gearing and a can (which doesn't usually help an early exup bike) so its amazing it got to that number and probably only did because of Al being a drag queen.
Honestly with the cost of the tank aswell the blade could have had a full system, jet kit and filter - and another 15hp or so.
To be honest I could've foregone the bikes in this episode and just watched you guys get rat arsed for 30 mins 🤪

No , it's never a draw. When a 750 goes equally head to head with a blade and isn't beaten by a clear margin by the bigger bike, IT WINS (well excluding the colour choice)
The clear margin was that the blade worked from the very start and worked throughout the whole trip
That’s the bottom line. When you buy a budget bike, you still look for something that is as mechanically sound as your budget will allow. You don’t mind replacing a shock, or replacing some brake lines if the engine is good and the bike runs well, that’s wear and tear
You don’t buy a second hand vehicle to be “surprised” that it still works. And the Yam didn’t even work, so obviously it costs almost nothing to buy, because it didn’t work, and it still broke down on the trip 😂

Been reflecting on how many '000's I could have saved from buying new bikes if I'd stuck with my blade from 20 odd years ago. Victory to the Honda!
Owned a 97 Fireblade for over 17 year’s, only the regulator/rectifier broke in all that time. The thing is bulletproof, even rode it down to The Gambia (West Africa). It’s the clear winner for me.

The Yam definitely has the early nineties cool factor going for it, but as a bike to own the Blade takes it by a mile as well.

Sorry but this BBB series was not for me, I skipped through 90% of it. Bring back the days of the less produced, less playing to the camera/contrived BBB, where things just interestingly and hilariously just happened. The SRAD v ZX-7R one in particular is for me one of the best. They hit the road, after lengthy prep-work, and just filmed how it went. Al and Chris putting on their oversuits is TH-cam gold (th-cam.com/video/qU6ZREz3KDw/w-d-xo.html) .It seemed that this latest one was aimed at a wider audience but for me it lost the magic along the way.
Better acceleration ( shorter gearing ) and better top speed..??? I think Al has lost it.. no mention of his previous GSXR debaucle.. however in the real world and especially with classics, - you want the most complete bike in the best condition for the money you have, if you added workshop time and scouring the net for bits to your budgets, a lot of these tests would have very different out comes..!!! Sooo?? On the back of this how about a real world do it your self classic restoration battle… oh..!! And I I can lend you my old Z 1300 to get you started on the road to concours Nerva..😂😂😂
So next year how about a tie break if it's even on points. 10 pints each, followed by Chicken Phall. Following morning a farting competition judged by a third party. I'll say it for the 4 billionth time - why buy a YZF750 when you could have got a ThunderAce for less - much faster, more comfortable - just as good handling and the same thirst for oil. :-) As a real world bike it pisses on a Blade with it's peaky engine and silly 16 inch front wheel.
Let's just hear it for fucking 90's superbikes. The garish/bold paintwork, the razors-edge handling & flickability, the character. Where to start? The bikes were the stars with the scenery a close second. The bickering I can live without. If these 2 can learn to disagree without being idiots, there's hope for them both. Obviously the Fireblade is the better bike.

Please be warned that the "unlimited" German Autobahn does not mean that you can max out your bike anytime you like. So better not speed past a police car in hot pursuit even if the Autobahn is "unlimited". Under "new" german rules you can even be convicted for "racing against yourself". Hard to prove but if it is all captured on video .... I know this is a spoiler but ask a german lawyer before having your bikes confiscated or paying a hefty fine, like it happened in Switzerland.

you could hold an online survey to determine the winner. but don't just make it a straight vote. ask a bunch of cleverly worded questions, and then use those answers to calculate the winner.
clever questions like, "this last question won't determine the winner, totally no bearing on anything, but just as a hypothetical, who do you think should have won?". all sneaky like.
so you would have the technical winner, from things like price and breakdowns et cetera, and then you have who won the popular vote.
and i know it's y'alls money anyway, but maybe the winner gets a gift card to Bob's Slop Shack, or whatever good local eatery you have there. or maybe make a trophy that gets passed to the current winner. but some sort of prize should be awarded. otherwise, how can you shame the other person for being a loser? maybe have the gift card for the technical winner and a trophy for the popular winner, and the trophy is a guy being worshipped by people.
I think if the fireblade had more 90s leary colour scheme then it would av been more appealing to everyone, ie if it was in urban tiger colours, although it would still b the exup for me, lllllllloved it guys, thank you

Blade clearly won.. No brake downs and won more challenges. Chris spent money on carbs, dyno time, his mate helped him out. Al this cost money.
The reason for the challenges is to allocate a point to a clear winner so it then can be tallied. Missed most of the drinking shenanigans which is the best bit in my opinion. Then argued like school girls as no one could conceite defeat. This used to be my favourite bike channel and the budget bike battles were epic. Still a supporter but honestly the fart noise are the conic relief here. Please don't get butt hurt over a negative comment as I have provided receipts.
I love cbr 900’s but the YZF dicked all over it, fact. I wouldn’t want one,much rather have the cbr but the challenges speak for them selves

It's literally a depiction of every pair of mates who love bikes doing dumb ass blokey shit and having an absolute blast. Too old to care what anyone thinks, young enough to think getting gazebo'd every night of a road trip is a good idea.
The best motorcycle thing I've seen on TH-cam. YZF is the clear winner of 90s cool but come on, the Fireblade is faster. You can't find bikes like these for cheap in the states because they have all been destroyed.

My mates and I went to Octoberfest and got into a tent when it opened in the morning and rolled out when it all closed down for the night. We found out the next day Germans book into one session or the other and there are three sessions in each tent throughout the day. I was basically banjaxed by the time I’d finished my second stein of 6% Paulaner (which is a lovely beer by the way) at about 11am. A long day and an even longer one to follow 🤕
