      Thinking about getting a used Ducati Streetfighter V4S for 25k. On the other hand, there’s this 20 thousand RPM edition R6 for 8k. I am coming from an MT07 and then VFR800. The streetfighter was my dream bike and I now got the financial means to get it. But at the same time, I’m only 25 and am sort of ‘afraid’ of already going too big on HP etc., and then not being able to fulfill the same adrenaline rush instead of progressing a bit more slowly, like going for a Z900 or MT09

      I have a friend who has a turbo R6 who loves doing squid things. He has a philosophy about it though. Never in traffic, no busy streets, and away from anyone who could possibly get caught up in his shenanigans. He was involved in an accident through no fault of his own, but the other party was seriously injured. It ate at him for years. After that accident his thought process changed when it comes to when and where to pull dank nooners.

    • @LeakyTrees
      @LeakyTrees 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@olumarkfatungase7556 actually squidding can be safer, because it not only allows people to build up their skills in a real world environment, but also keeps them in the moment and alert to everything going on around them. You’re much less likely to die from a car swerving into your lane if you’re already moving around. When you ride “safe” your reactions to changes can be slower, and it takes more time for you to start avoiding any problems. The channel Squidtips has some great content on it, I highly recommend!

    I picked up a 2024 ZX-6R on Tuesday (I’ve been riding a CBR500R for almost 7 years) its an absolutely phenomenal bike for the street. The new cams give it plenty of grunt for low rpm use around town. As for ergonomics, I’m a 6’2 250lbs powerlifter and honestly my only complaint is the weight on my wrists which can be eased with body positioning. Side note: the CBR500R will forever remain in my stable, still a blast to ride years later (with a few power mods of course)

    I didn't start riding until I was 40 (mid-life crisis) and my first bike was a Suzuki Bandit 400. A great little bike but you had to rev the nuts off it to get a decent performance and I had difficulty keeping up with the other riders in my group who all rode 600s or 750s so in 2000 I bought a Honda CBR 600. To me it's the perfect compromise. It's fast, relatively light, and I don't find it uncomfortable even in town. My only criticism is that the suspension is a bit stiff if you're riding on anything but smooth tarmac. I ride a lot in the mountains of southern Spain and some of those B roads can be full of bumps and potholes ☹️

    Getting the motorcycle that appeals to your heart is the best choice. I've owned over 20 Honda cars so when I parted with my last and decided to get a motorcycle I looked nowhere else but for a Honda. I started with an 05 CBR600rr, then got an 06 CBR600rr and an 06 Honda RC51. The aesthetics, sound, incredible handling, and like Yamms mentioned, raw power in the upper rpms far outweighs the negatives.
    You could make the same arguments for some cars. Such as my two MB 600hp monsters. You cannot go 200mph in America but these things look, sound, and perform amazingly!
    Bottom line; get what you love and ride other bikes when possible to see if you have interest in that type of riding

    There's an incredible array of seating positions that riders find comfortable. What one Rider calls comfortable another considers a torture rack. I think the manufacturers have figured it out now. I liked what Suzuki had done at 600cc with the bandit being a sporty bike, the katana being a sport bike, and the GSXR being a track bike. All three were more capable than public roads provided.
