I think it's a color palette issue. There's two colors that pop. The pink on the siren, and the bit blue on the big guy. Everything else is a drab and dull earthy palette. Edit: An unspoken point is that they look dull, but we all know that there's a lot customization available in these games. You know nothing about these characters. Until we get more information, it's hard to tell.
Theres a few issues. When you look at the other vhs you have an idea of what their personality is. These people look loke they have the same personality.
I mean even the big guy kinda looks like bland himself he’s got the one robot arm but he looks to normal like more of an NPC than a unique vault hunter. I would’ve added more yellow armour to the arm with a bit more tech flair like a faint red glowing pattern/symbol, for the hair maybe something esta something long and chaotic looking or go the kratos route and bald with a tattoo, and the chest isn’t bad add some yellow or red accents and maybe a scar going across the chest. Then this could be a big brute who’s seen a few battles and lived to tell the tale The 2 on the ends it’s almost a redo for designs like for the tech guy take notes from weilhem make the tech parts more prominent and the baggy pants lady lean more into the maliwan parts like have a scrapped off logo and a maybe instead of a open head design have a rebreather mask or the top part of the Bl3 maliwan trooper helmet The siren people thought she was tyreen or Ava her design outside of the pink siren marks is to bland like she looks like 4 or 5 other characters but with siren marks
Yeah the overall designs are fine, I might have gone slightly less casual on the guy on the left so he doesn't look too much like an npc with some armor on but other than that I think you hit the nail on the proverbial head.
I think the problem just comes down to the color schemes, they all match too much and just look like any given npc. Even in the past if a design was basic or just clothes, it still in some way stood out from the other vault hunters from that game and in some way emphasized something about that character.
@@maxrosefoxanime7225that's my thought as well, i think they went bland on the vault hunters base simply because they know no one gonna keep the original design of the characters in the end. It's a little pointless but I can see why people can be upset.
Yes exactly. I was looking at these characters the other night thinking like what is it that makes these designs "bad' and I think it's because they all have the exact same brown, grey, dark green color scheme.
No worries, I'm sure one of them will have an alt head to fit your needs. (I should also point out the smaller guy does seem to get a fancy mask during his action skill)
I wish we had alien vault hunters. I mean they're a whole galaxy and there's no clue, if there are other alien races out there, other then Zer0 and it has not been truly confirmed yet? 😡🤔
@@professorpengu502 Hmm, many alien species would have been destroyed by the destroyer, even so some alien species probably survived after the destroyer was sealed away in the great Vault.
I once made a Borderlands "Alien" character. It was a human clone spliced with Guardian DNA and given the ability to summon the limbs of Guardians as there ability with it changing depending on what tree you specked into.
Axton works because hes surrounded by a group of unusual people. When you're standing next to a space witch, alien robo ninja, and an inhumanly buff dude who looks like wolverine if he wasn't 4"11 just being a normal guy works because he's unusually normal by comparison Edit: on the topic of Roland and brick their designs aren't very expressive or colorful but thats probably because borderlands one wasn't very colorful. If you were to put a character like zero or fl4k into borderlands one they just wouldn't work because that game has a completely different tone.
I could make an hour long essay video as to how borderlands failed Aurelia as a character. One of the greatest Vault Hunters and best designed and set up characters in the series and they used her as a random one-off in Borderlands 3 to fill a villain space for Hammerlock’s house. Such a huge balldrop from Gearbox
As an Aurelia main, the handling of her character in BL3 still upsets me. They completely wrote off the clear character arc she went through in Pre-Sequel and relegated her to generic evil sister just to pad out the story with more 'oh look, recognizable character!' moments.
I just hope the studio really understood why B3 had the reception it did and properly planned ahead, rather than stopping at something very superficial like "oh, borderlands+ funny = bad" with the movie being the most recent thing Borderlands related.
@@BlueCheeseLucci fr, I didn’t really care about the story as much as the gameplay but tbh I’m the type of person that doesn’t care about story if gameplay is peak, if gameplay isn’t peak then I hope the story is.
Exactly. If they had chosen a different environment to show off the characters (maybe individually as well) I assume people wouldn't really be reacting like this. It comes down to the light and the colors in the reveal shot being muddy tbh
@@midgevong41 On the other side, this is a 2 minute teaser, it's meant to tease you, keep you waiting. If it doesn't immediately catch your attention, then what are you doing at Game Awards with that trailer? We already knew BL4 was being made anyways. But, skins and shaders exist, so I'm not personally too worried.
@@midgevong41 Its what I meant. The colours didnt look great in the trailer. Im still holding out hope that they are going to pop more in the actual game (im just hating on the trailers choice of background nothing else)
The thing with BL2’s characters design is that while each one was customizable to a degree, each had their own unique silhouette and color pallet which made them standout against each other. They were also alien enough from other enemies and NPC’s that you could tell who the other vault hunters where just from a glance. While it wasn’t completely lost with 3, they did feel a lot more uniform with one another, the only real standout was Fl4K imo, these new ones look so generic that my initial impression was that 4 was going to have a custom character creator.
what do you mean ? Zane was the best looking and distinct one, flak is basically a trashcan with robot parts, formless with his huge coat and not appealing
@@gravital2257he had a different silhouette/body type, the 3 other characters had the same slim, fit, toned muscle body types, making FL4K the only one who stood out in that way
When they mean by serious it's like assault on dragon keep or kreigs b3 dlc these are both incredibly serious while being funny. No joke kreigs ending is like every 2000's sad ending where you see a familiar silhouette for the last time hoping for a sequel. Add: We all lose things: our pasts, our friends, our minds. But we can keep going, keep fixing ourselves when we break. We may never be perfect… But we get close enough. Is a bar.
@ True very true I get what your saying 💯 but that's character focused Serious! Ya know what I mean I agree with you and that's more on the line of what I meant! Serious but Overall fun is perfect
Boy, we have character with nose ring and another one with this "hair swept to one side/side shave" cliche. They already lost when it comes to design. There are literally other characters in the trailer that have much more interesting/better design than the main characters. Like, come fucking on.
Here to defend against the Salvador slander Sure my guy is like buff and all and that's kinda generic but hes a midget or stunted which I think is very cool character design Also the mohawk Just imagine there's all these tall bozos and down there is Salvador , a mini dwarf mountain of muscles
Speak about it in the same sense with what we know of the new vault hunters, he was just a midget with a mowhawk, it was different yeah but, from what we knew there wasn't much of a craze over his character
Brick was my first choice in BL1, Salv was my first choice in BL2. The big dude in 4 will almost certainly be my first choice. I do like me some zerker style characters.
I'd always hoped they would give us a Tink with an awesome British accent. Oh well.... Lets see if Gearbox takes in the criticism and makes a positive change.
You know what I think. I think that gear box plans to release a shit ton of different body as dlc, like the one's in bl3, and that's why they look so casual
I love BL3’s Vault Hunters looks all very cool especially Zane, love his jacket, could have bought one in IRL with the Octopus on the back EDIT: I also think they did a excellent job with giving each VH in BL3 there own relatable color, Zane blue, Moze red, Flak green, Amara purple and a fun fact is that these are also the 4 colours on each skill tree.
the only reason i replayed bl3 a bunch of times was for the vaulthunters. imo the best in the serie with the exception of amara. i just remember watching the flak and zane trailers over and over again when they got released and getting excited for the game, now i just looked at the bl4 trailer with the same interest i scroll youtube shorts
@gerutzu575 oh you missed out. Amara was my third hunter I used. Golden Rule that came from the Jackpot was outrageously fun. I put a build together that had a phase projection up time of 1 second.
Looking at BL2 clips Maya and Salvador only stand out a bit more because they wear bright colors while Axton and Zero wear muted colors. Hopefully the group for 4 will have some good skins and heads to mix up their designs better.
Zero still manages to stand out because of his sleek design, not to mention straight up not having a face. Nah, the cast of 2 is WAY better than this one
Looking at the characters I feel they all have potential, but they are not there. Someone already mentioned this, but we need like an alien and a robot at least.
For me, it’s less that they look “Boring” and more that they look identical. An argument can be made that 3 can feel this way too. However, the designs are diverse enough to make the character’s unique. 4’s currently don’t really have this pop in your face differences. The only things being hair, size and gender. For character design, this should not be the only things that denote a different character. Why not have their clothing be more diverse in colors and accessories? You mention locations: It’s always been nice to have VH’s that are from all walks of life. You are correct in saying that they all look like they come from the same planet. In a universe has vast as Borderlands, that should NOT be the case. If the Siren really is Maliwan, add in more hints like this as a Maliwan solider or from a Maliwan site. The big guy could be more dressed like a robotic version of a hunter or native. The other two, go off of their skills. We may not know them, but using their designs to showcase what they MAY be able to do would speak volumes. The fact that only two of them just off of one glance can have some guesses as to what their abilities are is lackluster. I do hope they slightly change up the designs to make them more unique. Slightly, they don’t need anything over the top. But we will see
My thing about them is the simple fact that they look forgettable. For the past borderlands games most of the characters are iconic. These ones kind of look like some of the guys in moxie's bar. Not to mention it's kind of hard to figure out what their deal is on first impressions. Previous ones it was pretty easy to figure characters out by the way they dressed. For example: Zero, sleek dude, who speaks very little, Moze tiny woman who likes big firepower, hell even axton with how basic he looks, gave an indicator (dresses like a soldier to merc)
There are more differences than just size and gender. Like, if you look at the color palettes of, say, the siren and the big guy, the siren is mostly black and pink whereas the big guy is mostly green, yellow, and gray.
I agree that the trailer was more of an issue cause it was more focused on the story (which I’m grateful for) but the characters just weren’t that striking to me. But the bl franchise is known for its character customization so maybe I can pick up the slack. Personally I was hoping for another robot or alien
@@sandyk9300 your low expectations are valid but there’s always potiential for improvement, I’ll withhold criticism till I see for myself. Nobody expected the crazy upgrade in story between BL1 and Bl2, but here we are
Something people need to remember "hating" will make get attention leading to "change" and I hope they do listen and drastically change them Siren: honestly looks cool it's been like that everygame Left: just your average citizen with "exo-armor" Right: He's literally an Overwatch character Right lady: apparently she's Maliwan the reference art looks better than the character, she's some kind of "Tech bro", mechanic, and the hair isn't doing much. If you disagree with any of this ask yourself does this person look like a VH? Also I was really hoping for a Tediore VH....
I think the main problem with the trailer is that it crams too much into one. The cinematic showing the battle between the Rippers and the Order and the real-time footage that follows should've either been split into two separate trailers or extended. A longer trailer would've given the Vault Hunters much more time to shine. I'm confident they'll rectify that down the line, and I'm still excited as hell for the game.
Bro, this is the first teaser trailer. You guys need to get off the high horse. I don't want to hear one more thing about color pallette. We have fucking character customization. It literally doesn't matter how they look. We literally will be able to give them alien features, bro.
@@midgevong41 The trailer shown at Gamescom was the teaser trailer. The trailer shown at TGA is titled "Official First Look" which is not the same thing.
Colour palette is a major issue aside from the pink trenchcoat for the siren. They are all the same. I understand we have customization like head and bodies, but it really feels like it’s gonna be necessary in this game and not a bonus. I also want to take into consideration the poor performance of the movie they kinda gotta win my favour back. All I want is quality in every aspect. Games like red, dead redemption two Baldur’s gate three in Elden rang, proved that the developers can give us quality without sacrifice in any aspect. Be consistent give us quality writing. Acknowledge that green crystal that can revive anyone in the recent tales from the borderlands game and acknowledge the great war plot line. The great war is a perfect set up for a future game and one that has an interconnected story. with proper writing the time keeper could be building up his power or whatever up until the point he’s successful in defeating the vault hunters, forcing us to prepare for a great war building a team of vault hunters, both new and old leading into the next game, “borderlands five the great war”
Honestly the other failures to me are two things: 1. The music. The heck was that song? That’s not a borderlands reveal song to me. That killed the vibe. 2. Why does this series insist on taking place in metropolitan areas? It’s called borderlands. Give me dusky uninhabited world feel. I don’t need big city spaces. They’ve lost the feel.
The middle two are decent, it's obvious what classes they're gonna be. But what is even the two on the outer ends? They look like they'd be NPCs, what is even their class?
Well the middle two are the siren and tank as most have identified based on the trailer the guy on the left has some kind of melee ability and may take on an assassin role and we don’t know anything about the girl on the left but the work pants and tubing suggest to me an engineer or tech based class who knows maybe we will see the return of turrets.
They all look like they came, or grew up from the same town, lore-wise, instead of different walks of life. A group of friends being vault hunters would be different. I still want my solider archetype.
Character design is half of what makes a character and character personality is important. Zane and Moze was given the same criticisms prior to their own character centric trailers and they became fan favorites. So I'm going to wait until their character centric trailers comes out for my opinions to come out.
Zane and moze are still generic and boring lol. I'm a moze main and shes boring so is her story. Zane is atleast barons brother from borderlands 1. Moze is just a random solider. Same with axton from 2.
I'm happy we are getting a new big vault hunter! i do like bl3 vault hunters but most of them are near the same height and size beside Moze is shorter and smaller then the other 3 vault hunter in bl3 fun fact about playing moze is your POV will closer to ground. vault haunters height and size has effect you POV for example in bl2 Krieg is taller then Ellie as Krieg you end up having to look down at Ellie vs if you play as Gaige is shorter then Ellie you end up having to look up to at Ellie.
Ya know, I've played the shit out of both 2 and 3, and I never really paid that much attention to that small detail before, but you are right. Playing as Fl4k, I'm pretty much eye level with just about everyone, but when I'd switch to Moze, I'd always think to myself, "something about my FOV feels off" and now I know lol.
It probably is Octavio, personally I have a bit of an inkling that the Siren next to him is more than likely Ava since she looks heavily like her. I just pray the writing team does them a little better or a lot better if it is them.
To give the woman on the far right some slack. Tbf if she is ex-Maliwan. Her colors shown are White. Orange and Blue, which is Maliwans primary colors. So it would make sense for them to no longer be popping out and clean as they will have been weathered for however long she has left the corp. Shes not getting brand new uniform clothing to use anymore, she might just be wearing all she still has. Kinda like how Moze with Iron bear just made do with what fuel and parts of scrap she could to maintain iron bear. Maybe this is similar where she was all bright and had a full suit, but overtime its falling apart, leaving bits missing and the remaining parts old and worn out.
'Realism' and 'believability' never makes for good design. A developer can argue all day that their focus is on 'realism' or whatever - fact is, realism in storytelling and (visual) character-design more often go into different directions than not. Some things are so ingrained in the human psyche, that you can't just argue people's perception away. That's why TV ads are usually flashy, stupid, silly, loud, confusing, etc. - nobody buys a product because some middle-aged guy in a badly sitting suit talked to them over the TV and explained them why buying the product is beneficial for them. Every good designer should know as much at least - so who ever designed the characters for this game/trailer simply ISN'T. Some stuff shown actually fails to meet some entry-level rules of colour-theory. That's nothing that someone accidentally forgets while trying to make believable designs. :D
The thing that bothers me most with her is that she’s wearing ray bans when their universe is like 200 years ahead in technology. Like it’s the equivalent of having a fantasy world and they’re still using standard wheelchairs instead of some awesome hover chair or mount. At least some HUD goggles or something man
I actually ONLY like the girl on the right the rest of them look like someone hit a randomizer in a basic character creator and then adjusted the stuff slightly in my opinion
To me they look very high quality and detailed with all the bits and pieces that make up their outfits and armor, yet they look too plain. Definitely need more colors and more unique designs because they all look for the most part the same
This is a great video, and you’ve changed my mind. We’ve become too addicted to borderlands getting flashier that we forgot about its roots. VH#1’s color scheme seems to be something that blends everyone else together. Without him, they all look starkly different. If he was given a spicier green, he would have stood out more.
Eruption Fang, i have an important question If this new Siren isn't Ava, do you think it is likely she is the 7th siren? What if Nyriad's warning wasn't telling us to beware of the 7th, but of what the implications of the 7th being found could hold? Cause this planet was isolated, with seemingly no way out, until elpis crashed into it, and unleashed the war that was raging inside with the timekeeper (i think that was the new villain's name) So if the 7th, who was helping against the Timekeeper's army was unleashed, that means that the Timekeeper would also be unleashed. And what if the TimeKeeper is actually the "Vault Monster" of this new planet, that was unstable, and was able to break out, which is why they left a siren behind to watch over him?
In the borderlands 3 trailer, within the first minute, they start going through the vault hunters and what they can do. In the borderlands 4 trailer, I have no idea what the vault hunters are called, what their abilities are or what is really going on. on BL3 they spelled it out, a pycho cult run by two idiots needed to be brought down, bring in the vault hunters! On BL4, I don't know, some sort of civil war between two factions we've never seen, on a planet we've never been, fighting for what again? I can pick out the siren easy but have no idea what her power is and in BL3 I played Moze cause I hated Amara and her weird multi siren powers.
I think there's a lote of hope & cope going on in the community right now. Borderlands has really been driven deeper & deeper into the dirt over the years, and it feels very generous to expect these characters and pretty much anything else to come out looking better over the next few months. The Game Awards was a perfect chance to bring an excitement back into the community, and they blew it. It genuinely feels like Borderlands has run its course.
I think their colour palet and especially their hair colour or hats or something, are the biggest problem with their design. Like while sure Axton and Salvador looked plain, but their colours just popped.
They looked different from one another, not just that they didn't look like the same person, but that, like he said in the video, they came from very different parts of the planet/planets. Plus, the attitude conveyed by each through their animations lends itself to defining their characters even more. Axton obviously being a soldier, stands more rigidly and has a more professional tone to his actions than Salvador, who is far more brutish and belligerent in comparison.
I feel like people forget the other types of assassin, the unassuming normal looking type, not all assassin look like a ninja, blending in is the most important part of assassination
If they just tweak some of the colors, clothes, and hair they'll be fine. Like give the ninja dude more tech on him and give the Maliwan chick a more engineer look.
Yeah the tech colord helped make the ninja pop more. And the Maliwan girl could/should have her colors maybe change depending on element since that's Maliwan's entire gimmick with weapons and gear.
A good way to determine if a design is good or not for characters/classes is if you can tell roughly what their role is with just a look. In borderlands we generally have 4 "classes" which i will call assassin, soldier, heavy and siren. Axton, roland, moze and wilhelm you can pretty much see as soldiers without needing much else. The sirens are easy because they just need the tatoos, i personally think amara has the best look out of them because her muscles say she's a fighter and that fits in with her siren powers. Heavies are generally more noticeable, being bigger and more muscular than others, brick, salvador and krieg fall into this category, salvadors outfit does look kind of plain but his tree trunk arms give off the vibe that he's a heavy/berserker role. The assassin role tends to have their face covered and a more slender frame, zero and mordecai being pretty much perfect designs in my humble opinion. Obviously we have some outliers like aurelia and gaige who don't really fall into these archetypes and it's a bit harder to put fl4k in there given the variety of roles they have, but these are generally the core design principles, fl4k is never without a pet so you can tell they have something to do with animals. Aurelias blue coat and ice themed jewellery makes you think her ability is ice themed. I cannot, for the life of me, tell what the dude on the left and girl on the right might do from that shot alone. The siren will obviously have some siren power and the big guy might be tanked out or be extremely aggressive, but what the hell would the others be able to do? Get shot in the head and die? They look like they just wandered into the shot when walking to the store
You may be able to tell Moze is a soldier from a single still image of her, but could you tell what she actually does? Like, how would you have guessed that she had a mech instead of a turret like Roland and Axton had? Looking at the character on the left in the BL4 trailer, you can see he has the same kind of cybernetic looking legs as Zane, as well as some sort of exoskeleton on his arms. This tells me he's probably similar to Zane in the sense that he uses gadgets, but perhaps more melee oriented. Then, a few seconds later, you see him with an even larger exoskeleton with giant energy blades coming out of it. I feel like him and the big guy are the only ones we currently know the ability of
The only guess I have for the character on the left is that they will be a melee character, what else will they do? I have no idea. The siren, what will be power be? No one knows. The tank, what? No idea. Finally the character on the right has literally nothing going for her, she looks like the average npc you find in sanctuary (not like the rest are better)
@AdamSlander888 The big guy literally throws an elemental battleaxe in the trailer Also, could you tell what Lilith's power was just by looking at an image of her? The only siren who's power was obvious was Amara because she's buff
@ we don’t know if that’s the big guy or another skill tree for the assassin, Lilith you can very easily tell what she does, maya same thing, Amara same thing. You made a terrible point
Unfortunately for this trailer the villains made more of an impression than the vault hunters but they could always bring out two more vault hunters just like BL2's Gauge and Krieg
The villains are always the focus in the games. They are the entity causing everything around you to be happening and you always start as some rando who wandered into the story
Borderlands was solid but when 3, tiny Tina's game, and the movie came out the main head of it started attacking the fans that were already jaded by call us bigots and or (insert woke/leftist ideology bs)from meh to horribly bad moves to kill off mainstays just to then have the worst dialogs the community had said go ahead and bite the hand that feeds and see what happens 2k and gearbox are so out of the loop it hurts when I've been playing from the beginning the only people to blame is the people running the show we are the ones that made those games as successful(yes they made the product) but think about most of those people who made borderlands 1 and 2 are gone some maybe very few remain from its heyday but people who don't know the universe, lore, or the community will burn a beloved franchise to the ground look at volition how they went bankrupt by thinking they new better then the people who loved saints row
They all look like the side characters, not the main characters. Not like gearbox is going to change it, since y'know, its gearbox. At the end of the day I love borderlands 1 (I have 1,000 hours in it.) and the characters in that game had the same issue, but their outfits tell a story. I mean Roland wears Crimson Lance armor telling the player that he was at one point a soldier, its pretty cool. I kinda wish the characters in this game were more unique, but its not going to change so might as well accept the fact. Good video!
What happened? Paid skin dlcs. I hope I'm wrong. The vault hunters aren't inspired, they aren't designed to be good characters they look like they're made to fit their quotas. I thought we were over that.
The problem isn't the characters skin colors. Don't pretend like that's a real issue They're just kinda boring in comparison to what we've got in the past
@@Huffle_0 Never said the skin colors were an issue. I have no problem with a character made from passion. These characters are not made with passion, they are made to either hit certain check boxes, or to simply NOT have certain skin colors. I don't hate woke JUST because it's woke, it take all creativity out of things because it has to check off the boxes.
So you've never played a mainline borderlands, or even wonderlands game. What happened was they realised people don't care about the base skin because 99% of players stop using it within 15 minutes.
These characters look like background NPCs you meet on a planet once, do three side missions for, then never hear about again even in the post credits wrap up. Meanwhile, I look at 1, 2 even 3s characters and I can tell what they're all about based on design and even color palette. Take Mordecai: judging by his goggles, attire, and even his bandolier belt he's the precision based sniper of the group who benefits off critical damage and keeping his distance. Same with say Maya. Judging by Maya's design, I can tell she's the siren powerhouse of the group who, just like Lilith, benefits off SMGs, close range damage, and elemental benefits while supporting the team. The only unique looking one in 4 so far is the Viking fella and even then my main thought was "didn't I see you in the Guns Love And Tentacles DLC?"
Thank you for actually articulating what was wrong with the trailer instead of saying "characters generic, game bad". My only qualm with the trailer was the lack of detail on the vault hunters. I like their visual design and everything else about it. But I can see where you are coming from, and your opinion is thought out and in good faith.
Someone said in the comments that there should be more alien races, specifically alien vault hunters, and i couldn’t agree more. For the most part, we’ve only seen humans and robots as most of the characters/npcs, with the only aliens in the series being enemies. It seemed fine through most the series, cause it was all played out on pandora, but now that intergalactic traversal is established, it’d be interesting to see more than what we’ve already had before. This’ll give the devs the chance to make some crazy alien species that are either neutral/friendly and even get vault hunters that are different species entirely.
The girl to the right... her design reminds me of Mama from Death Stranding. Don't know why her "chest" armor doesn't cover her chest though. But she looks like a tech girl with heaps of deadly tech toys. The big guy is clearly a Viking/tank/heavy. Don't know why he has to show is nipple though. The Siren girl looks good to me. Only the guy to the left is kind of ... flat.
It isn't chest armor, its more of a harness for her jetpack lookin thing on her back. The biggest problem with her design is that you can't even tell she has that thing if you're facing her head on
As an artist it’s easy for me to see a big difference in characters, not necessarily just clothes but also shape language. Brick is the best example of this. He is a normal guy but he is set apart from the others with his size. And Roland thought he has a basic set. The scarf and side shoulder add pop to his normal look. Same with Sal being so short and blocky. But we also have been spoiled within 2 and 3/ presequal with interesting guys like zero, claptrap,Krieg and flakk. Having all bigger and cooler characters only to go backwards in the next game to come. And honestly my view is that all the new characters look really good. Apart from the one on the far left. He just looks like a guy. He has no piece that makes him stand out or eye catching. The siren has her bright coat and lighted chest piece, the large one has a canister on one shoulder and a robot arm the other, based with additional hardware on his body, the lady far right has an awesome hairdo and her neck and pants are a highlight to her design. The other guy has wires on his arm..but I feel like adding an additional light or brighter color to him.
100% agree on the hair note. That beige tone blends them together way too much and tbh it’s not a very flattering colour. Compare that to the different colours and accessories used in bl 1 and 2 for example there was so much more going on like mordercai and Roland’s unique hats, liliths red hair, zeroes helmet and salvadors blueish hair. You could glance at these characters and find so much variety in their expression.
Doa after the nightmare of a story of the third game and years of the devs saying it was the gamers' fault, years of gas lightning into saying gamers were over reacting to the story then years later the devs admitting the story may have been not that great i have absolutely no interest in borderlands anymore and i know alot of people are done aswell can't wait for them to blame gamers again
The more I look at the design and overall look of the guy on the far left, the more I think of Zane. Its just in this instance he looks like a hobo who has a part time job in assassinations which is cool. Zane just looks like a futuristic irish man whos full time job is being an assassin. Slowly warming up to the hobo dude.
So I’m certain they’ll do thier best to deliver what they did on bl2 last newer dlc game if we keep reminding Randy about what he and gearbox gave us from that dlc
Borderlands 2 has the best vault hunter design and a main reason is the vault hunters personality come across in the design: Axton is the generic solider and his basic design reflects that (which also works to show he's the most basic gameplay wise). Maya and Zero are mysterious. Salvador is shorter with a more punk luck with his clothes and hair showing he's more unique in both gameplay and well...sanity. Even with the DLC, Gaige is a child and slightly more playful with dialogue and Kreig is a literal psycho. What can you tell me about these new vault hunters based on the design? They're smug with the left ones smrik and the sirens slightly exaggerated walk. The big guy is...Big. the girl on the right is nerdy looking so judging by Borderlands 3 writing that will be her ONLY personality trait.
I want the next villain in the franchise to be a Alexander the Great, Napoleon, Charlemagne, Ceaser, Trajann, Saladin esk character named General Unitatem Concordia (aka General “unity” “live in harmony” in Latin) or something like that. Someone who wants to unite the wastelands and bring peace and harmony to it by conquering and subjugating it. We come to blows with him and fight against him. But as we do, we come to learn of his backstory. As a child the warbands and vault hunters destroyed his home killed his parents and violated him and others before taking them as slaves. As a slave he worked up to be a general in the warlords army before killing and usurping him. Now he seeks to create a Pandora where people don’t have to live in fear that what happened to him will happen to them. Additionally he treats his underlining a well and as family. And despite being a tyrant he is very fair and benevolent for a warlord. Eventually we come to face him, and after seeing the kind of world he rules, a place where you don’t need to kill everyone you meet, we are given a choice… Join him a create a Pandora where true peace and exists at the cost of what makes the planet “fun”, or fight and let Pandora remain a hell hole no sane person would ever want to live in. All you lose is anarchy type freedom the games are known for in exchange for lawful order if you join. If you resist, all the other factions immediately turn on each other to fill the power vacuum as the Generals last words are “ Congratulations, you condemned us all forever.” United Pandora, or Lawless wastelands, being ruled by planet wide military dictatorship vs local warlords, a unified world free of psycho marauders vs a divided hellscape where you live in fear… Lawless freedom or Peaceful tyranny, which is better? Now that I think of it, he wouldn’t be the villain, he’s straight up the good guy.
Spoken like a true fan. This is why you are the best at what you do and personally, for me, this is the best channel to know everything about borderlands.
I'm sure once we get more info about them the VH's will grow on the community. The trailer focused on the story as you mentioned which brings me to something I wish Gearbox does with the story: involve the Vault Hunters! In the first three games the Vault Hunters just do grunt work to move the story along, not being essential to or even involved in the plot until they return in sequels as NPCs. I want them to be part of the plot and appear in cutscenes, interacting with other characters and having echo conversations. Have the non-player VH's in the cutscenes and radio chatter as well!
I genuinely hope that they didn't add voice lines in the trailer because characters will finally be customizable, from species, multiple voice profiles, class / skill combos, backstory building, and so much more to truly make your character unique from beginning to end. Borderlands is such an awesome Lore, if we were able to make unique characters and play in larger groups with social hub areas that have even more players, people could almost play it as an MMO! I really enjoy the series as a whole so I'm just happy to have another Borderlands title on the way!!
The environment gained colour but the character's lost it. I don't know why they look so muted. Even the Siren's pink is like a dull pink when she uses her power, instead of a brighter, more noticeable pink. I think the overall aesthetic of Borderlands has been bad since 3. I still think BL3 Vault Hunters look kind of bland. I did see someone say that perhaps they're fully customizable from the start, similar to Wonderlands, and I'm kind of hoping that's the case. That would at least fix the designs for me. These are base appearances that mean nothing and are supposed to be edited by the player.
the funny thing is butcher rose is my background wallpaper for my pc after you play the dlc and see the black and white artwork of her I took a screenshot she has to be my favorite character and Im glad that they didnt kill her and she escaped because her story was well made and you really didnt want to kill her even before unearthing that information.
I just realized that the blade guy has robotic lower legs. That's an interesting detail that gets cut off in the lineup and is barely noticeable when we see him flipping around using his blades.
They look like 1 character rehashed into 3 more characters. This might be explained by them all being siblings. But yeah i don't vibe with how overly similar looking they are beyond body shape tbh.
@@josefstalin9678 Same skin tone and same hair color. Both are striking parts of a character's color palette. And I already addressed that their body shapes are the only thing majorly different about them, lowering your reading comprehension doesn't look good on you my man.
well you can love their design, but still its awful as fuck LMAO tyeh have zero distinction visually, compare it to the other 3 games and at least there you got something cool about most of them
I really think they should have made one of them a robot or creature or something. Zer0 and Fl4k are probably what most people think of when they think of Bl2 and Bl3 Vault-Hunters.
The other three are somewhat passable, but the black techy girl is beyond forgiveness for me, she doesn't even look like a borderlands character that's how out of place she's.
@@FelisImpurratora race thing? There are literally several other NPC’s shown that have a different skin color, this dude isnt making it a race thing. She literally looks so out of place, it looks like the character designers took elements from overwatch and shoved it into a borderlands character.
There’s a few things that could explain the basic character designs. The first being that the developers wanted to get away from the characters being the main focus and really show the story. And the second possibility could be they are planning to let us customize the vault hunters similar to Wonderlands.
Alot of people are saying colour palette which i do agree with, but one really big problem Bl3 introduced that people don't talk about too much is the overdetailing in the art. So many edges and bobs and gizmos on everything. I mean, just look at that torgue pistol in the trailer, just the sight on it has like 7 buttons and dials! And this same problem happens with character design too. There's beauty in simplicity and BL1 and 2 knew that, but bl3 started a trend of overdetailing the art style. Compare the simple yet iconic design of Brick, to the new brute character in bl4. His design is so much more noisy and theres nothing to latch onto in his design, and I'm saying that even though I think the brute has the MOST INTERESTING looking design of the 4 new vault hunters. I will say though, I don't think anyone can deny that no matter how bad you might think TPS is, it was definitely the best Borderlands games for playable characters both in terms of their actual character AND their skill trees and playstyles.
honestly if they took a tiny Tinas route and allowed us to pick from all the classes they're have ever been it would be super sick , to create are own story's, cause they look like tiny tinas random custom characters
Yeah I actually agree I mean like you could've given one like green hair or yellow shirt something the eartty tones all over design doesn't help
Then this could be a big brute who’s seen a few battles and lived to tell the tale
The 2 on the ends it’s almost a redo for designs like for the tech guy take notes from weilhem make the tech parts more prominent and the baggy pants lady lean more into the maliwan parts like have a scrapped off logo and a maybe instead of a open head design have a rebreather mask or the top part of the Bl3 maliwan trooper helmet
The siren people thought she was tyreen or Ava her design outside of the pink siren marks is to bland like she looks like 4 or 5 other characters but with siren marks
well if that's your issue i wouldn't worry because color palette skins are PLENTY in these games.
Yeah the overall designs are fine, I might have gone slightly less casual on the guy on the left so he doesn't look too much like an npc with some armor on but other than that I think you hit the nail on the proverbial head.
I’m just upset they don’t have at least 1 really different character like a robot or alien or something
Exactly. 💯
Kinda like transformer mixed with dead space Lurker alien hybrid character
Big guys got a robot arm so maybe he changes like Wilhelm when he goes down the cyborg tree.
I wonder which charater will be the sniper or sharpshooter?
they have an half robot
I think the problem just comes down to the color schemes, they all match too much and just look like any given npc. Even in the past if a design was basic or just clothes, it still in some way stood out from the other vault hunters from that game and in some way emphasized something about that character.
Your not wrong but In every game all the characters look bland from the start ,we end up just changing them ourselves
@@maxrosefoxanime7225that's my thought as well, i think they went bland on the vault hunters base simply because they know no one gonna keep the original design of the characters in the end.
It's a little pointless but I can see why people can be upset.
@@ajwise04 agree completely if it's going on a darker tone the characters and colors need to match up
It isn't just the color schemes, some of them feel like they don't fit any specific role and just look like standard npc's.
Yes exactly. I was looking at these characters the other night thinking like what is it that makes these designs "bad' and I think it's because they all have the exact same brown, grey, dark green color scheme.
plays zero, claptrap, fl4k: how am I supposed to play a game without a fancy mask or beep boops?
Bumbermans 1 didn't have any fancy masks or beep boops
No worries, I'm sure one of them will have an alt head to fit your needs. (I should also point out the smaller guy does seem to get a fancy mask during his action skill)
THATS WHAT IM SAYIN
Mordecai: What about me!?
this is exactly what i thought lol
I wish we had alien vault hunters. I mean they're a whole galaxy and there's no clue, if there are other alien races out there, other then Zer0 and it has not been truly confirmed yet? 😡🤔
TRUE
It was confirmed that there were at least when the destroyer was free
@@professorpengu502 Hmm, many alien species would have been destroyed by the destroyer, even so some alien species probably survived after the destroyer was sealed away in the great Vault.
I once made a Borderlands "Alien" character. It was a human clone spliced with Guardian DNA and given the ability to summon the limbs of Guardians as there ability with it changing depending on what tree you specked into.
you already commented this before
Axton works because hes surrounded by a group of unusual people. When you're standing next to a space witch, alien robo ninja, and an inhumanly buff dude who looks like wolverine if he wasn't 4"11 just being a normal guy works because he's unusually normal by comparison
Edit: on the topic of Roland and brick their designs aren't very expressive or colorful but thats probably because borderlands one wasn't very colorful.
Its a shame. She was wasted
She was a playable character in TPS, and has a decent design there.
Borderlands 3 story as a whole felt lacking.
As an Aurelia main, the handling of her character in BL3 still upsets me. They completely wrote off the clear character arc she went through in Pre-Sequel and relegated her to generic evil sister just to pad out the story with more 'oh look, recognizable character!' moments.
Aurelia was already known way before Bl pre se. and she was known to hate her brother and do anything for money. aka what she was doing in pre se
I have a sinking feeling that the siren is aged up Ava, & that immediately puts a bad taste in my mouth. Could be wrong, though.
1) Looks NOTHING like Ava (not even the same race), and 2) gearbox stated it's not her.
Iirc, Apparently all four vault hunters are from the new planet elpis teleported to.
Hence, all from the same area so dress similarly.
I just hope the studio really understood why B3 had the reception it did and properly planned ahead, rather than stopping at something very superficial like "oh, borderlands+ funny = bad" with the movie being the most recent thing Borderlands related.
thats true, same with bl3 gameplay which imo is the best gameplay in the series, not the story tho.
People overacted cause the story was bad, the gameplay was great, vault hunters all cool, dlc was good.

It’s crazy cause all the other characters that were shown in the trailer look miles better than the vault hunters what happened.
I think that the colour palette is just not it, there's no contrast and the characters also blend with the colours of the background
Exactly. If they had chosen a different environment to show off the characters (maybe individually as well) I assume people wouldn't really be reacting like this. It comes down to the light and the colors in the reveal shot being muddy tbh
This feels like a reach to say this about an entire game when we have seen a 2 min teaser
Im still holding out hope that they are going to pop more in the actual game (im just hating on the trailers choice of background nothing else)
nope colors wouldn’t fix shit lol
still dull design
they just look like NPCs waiting for a fetch quest. really hoping the customizability goes really hard for 4. 💀
Funny you say that because people bashed BL2 characters in the start too and then they saw their specific trailers and changed their minds.
what do you mean ? Zane was the best looking and distinct one, flak is basically a trashcan with robot parts, formless with his huge coat and not appealing
@@gravital2257he had a different silhouette/body type, the 3 other characters had the same slim, fit, toned muscle body types, making FL4K the only one who stood out in that way
These four have pretty different silhouettes. The colors are bad for sure, but it’s almost guaranteed you can customize that.
5:37 I really don’t want a more Serious Borderlands 4! Borderlands isn’t meant to be Super Serious! It’s meant to be Sarcastic and edgy humor
When they mean by serious it's like assault on dragon keep or kreigs b3 dlc these are both incredibly serious while being funny.
No joke kreigs ending is like every 2000's sad ending where you see a familiar silhouette for the last time hoping for a sequel.

Here to defend against the Salvador slander
Sure my guy is like buff and all and that's kinda generic but hes a midget or stunted which I think is very cool character design
Also the mohawk
Just imagine there's all these tall bozos and down there is Salvador , a mini dwarf mountain of muscles
Yeah his silhouette looks like a rhino he’s got such an interesting shape
Speak about it in the same sense with what we know of the new vault hunters, he was just a midget with a mowhawk, it was different yeah but, from what we knew there wasn't much of a craze over his character
Brick was my first choice in BL1, Salv was my first choice in BL2. The big dude in 4 will almost certainly be my first choice. I do like me some zerker style characters.
@user-kb6ey3dq7c Yeah his character like his voice lines is really reallly bland but his design does stand out tho
Imo
I'd always hoped they would give us a Tink with an awesome British accent. Oh well.... Lets see if Gearbox takes in the criticism and makes a positive change.
Honestly the characters and how they look is a big part of why I enjoy playing them and these guys… I do not wish to play them
You know what I think.
I think that gear box plans to release a shit ton of different body as dlc, like the one's in bl3, and that's why they look so casual
I’d rather they’d release additional vault hunters as DLC
Same, they'll make a lot selling the vault hunters everyone should have got from the start
Ahh so design the problem sell the solution.
This is clearly not worse in any way right?
The designs if the siren and the Viking dude are growing on me, hopefully we learn more because the others could be cool
I love BL3’s Vault Hunters looks all very cool especially Zane, love his jacket, could have bought one in IRL with the Octopus on the back
EDIT: I also think they did a excellent job with giving each VH in BL3 there own relatable color, Zane blue, Moze red, Flak green, Amara purple and a fun fact is that these are also the 4 colours on each skill tree.
Yeah Fl4k was my favorite design. Love me a good robot.
@ yeah I used to have nickname for all of them «The Irishman» «R0b0 H0b0» «Iron Maiden» & «The Tiger»
the only reason i replayed bl3 a bunch of times was for the vaulthunters. imo the best in the serie with the exception of amara. i just remember watching the flak and zane trailers over and over again when they got released and getting excited for the game, now i just looked at the bl4 trailer with the same interest i scroll youtube shorts
@gerutzu575 oh you missed out. Amara was my third hunter I used. Golden Rule that came from the Jackpot was outrageously fun. I put a build together that had a phase projection up time of 1 second.
@@gerutzu575 Amara and Moze are somewhat boring designs compared to bl2.

Looking at BL2 clips Maya and Salvador only stand out a bit more because they wear bright colors while Axton and Zero wear muted colors. Hopefully the group for 4 will have some good skins and heads to mix up their designs better.
Zer0 made sense cuz well... he's an NINJA in every sense of the words.
Salvador's short and stoutedness I think is a key part of his design that makes him stand out as well
Zero still manages to stand out because of his sleek design, not to mention straight up not having a face.
@@spacecowboy8295 right, like say what you will about all the "solider" looking bland you could instantly tell oh that's the army/ merc one
There are more differences than just size and gender. Like, if you look at the color palettes of, say, the siren and the big guy, the siren is mostly black and pink whereas the big guy is mostly green, yellow, and gray.
Person on the Far Right of the Shot....Looks like Discount Lucio
I agree that the trailer was more of an issue cause it was more focused on the story (which I’m grateful for) but the characters just weren’t that striking to me. But the bl franchise is known for its character customization so maybe I can pick up the slack.
Personally I was hoping for another robot or alien
your grateful....for the story?
@sandyk9300 yeah I'm grateful they showed more of what direction the story is going in

Siren: honestly looks cool it's been like that everygame
Left: just your average citizen with "exo-armor"
Right: He's literally an Overwatch character
Right lady: apparently she's Maliwan the reference art looks better than the character, she's some kind of "Tech bro", mechanic, and the hair isn't doing much.
This is literally the teaser trailer. It sprinkles in a lot of things and then they do more specific trailers for the aspects of the game later on.
Bro, this is the first teaser trailer. You guys need to get off the high horse. I don't want to hear one more thing about color pallette. We have fucking character customization. It literally doesn't matter how they look. We literally will be able to give them alien features, bro.

I do think 2 of them look boring... but I'm sure they'll have cool cosmetics
They're even on the outsides like they were trying to take the focus off of them
Honestly the other failures to me are two things: 1.

2:33 It just dawned on me. What if this dude IS Octavio?
Oh god dont say it bro😖😖
Someone mentioned that it would be hilarious if she was related to the traunt brothers
At least some HUD goggles or something man
Her being ex-Maliwan is a cool theory actually, I'd like another ex-corpo character in the ranks.
Eruption Fang, i have an important question
If this new Siren isn't Ava, do you think it is likely she is the 7th siren?
What if Nyriad's warning wasn't telling us to beware of the 7th, but of what the implications of the 7th being found could hold?
Cause this planet was isolated, with seemingly no way out, until elpis crashed into it, and unleashed the war that was raging inside with the timekeeper (i think that was the new villain's name)
So if the 7th, who was helping against the Timekeeper's army was unleashed, that means that the Timekeeper would also be unleashed.
And the Maliwan girl could/should have her colors maybe change depending on element since that's Maliwan's entire gimmick with weapons and gear.
that siren looks cool and unique but the other’s look like npc that you can meet in fallout
Siren looks exactly like the one in BL3.
The big dude looks like a relative of Salvador from BL2.
The last two are meh...
Those two look like NPC's that would die in a gag in BL2
@AdamSlander888
The big guy literally throws an elemental battleaxe in the trailer
Also, could you tell what Lilith's power was just by looking at an image of her? The only siren who's power was obvious was Amara because she's buff
@ we don’t know if that’s the big guy or another skill tree for the assassin, Lilith you can very easily tell what she does, maya same thing, Amara same thing. You made a terrible point
Lucio girl could have easily been made cooler with some Hyperion engineer suit attachments
bro said Lucio girl 😹😹
Tô be honest, they look like downgrade from 3.
What does the clothing have to do when it comes to customizable characters? It isn't about the characters it's about the games story.
Unfortunately for this trailer the villains made more of an impression than the vault hunters but they could always bring out two more vault hunters just like BL2's Gauge and Krieg
The villains are always the focus in the games. They are the entity causing everything around you to be happening and you always start as some rando who wandered into the story
I think if they made their vault hunters customizable like wonderlands it might gotten less backlash but than this is the BL community after all
Borderlands was solid but when 3, tiny Tina's game, and the movie came out the main head of it started attacking the fans that were already jaded by call us bigots and or (insert woke/leftist ideology bs)from meh to horribly bad moves to kill off mainstays just to then have the worst dialogs the community had said go ahead and bite the hand that feeds and see what happens 2k and gearbox are so out of the loop it hurts when I've been playing from the beginning the only people to blame is the people running the show we are the ones that made those games as successful(yes they made the product) but think about most of those people who made borderlands 1 and 2 are gone some maybe very few remain from its heyday but people who don't know the universe, lore, or the community will burn a beloved franchise to the ground look at volition how they went bankrupt by thinking they new better then the people who loved saints row
Good video!
As the thumbnail would state it
Yes they look ugly but Ava is twice the ugly part but luckily not playable which is nice.
What did you say to the seventh siren 🤨
What happened? Paid skin dlcs. I hope I'm wrong. The vault hunters aren't inspired, they aren't designed to be good characters they look like they're made to fit their quotas. I thought we were over that.
"fit quotas" lmao go back to whatever right-wing circlejerk you get the DEI hysteria from, or something.
The problem isn't the characters skin colors. Don't pretend like that's a real issue
They're just kinda boring in comparison to what we've got in the past
@Huffle_0 The anti-wokes have to shove their politics down our throats and make everything about their crusade against wokeism.
Only the guy to the left is kind of ... flat.
Death stranding mentioned 😱
Also his gear seems to be a modded Hyperion engineer gear. The left and right char I'm betting are Ex workers for their old companies
So I’m certain they’ll do thier best to deliver what they did on bl2 last newer dlc game if we keep reminding Randy about what he and gearbox gave us from that dlc
I honestly think the vault haunters look bland couse their supposed to be customizable like in TTW
That would be so garbage, the character sucks and almost all characters just end up looking ugly and bland.
True... I also would have prefered some aliens or don't know, somethin wacky@@naytny5819
We all always know there's going to be a bunch of customization. Do the default outfits really matter?
The Siren's coat fits her IMO. Makes her look even more of a baddie than her stare
Borderlands 2 has the best vault hunter design and a main reason is the vault hunters personality come across in the design:
Axton is the generic solider and his basic design reflects that (which also works to show he's the most basic gameplay wise).
My biggest problem is that I don't connect with them. I don't feel like I want to play with them
I want the next villain in the franchise to be a Alexander the Great, Napoleon, Charlemagne, Ceaser, Trajann, Saladin esk character named General Unitatem Concordia (aka General “unity” “live in harmony” in Latin) or something like that.
If you resist, all the other factions immediately turn on each other to fill the power vacuum as the Generals last words are “ Congratulations, you condemned us all forever.”
United Pandora, or Lawless wastelands, being ruled by planet wide military dictatorship vs local warlords, a unified world free of psycho marauders vs a divided hellscape where you live in fear… Lawless freedom or Peaceful tyranny, which is better?
Now that I think of it, he wouldn’t be the villain, he’s straight up the good guy.
It sucks that everyone’s throwing a tantrum when nothings been shown of the VH.
Yeah I agree feedback is a bad thing
wym nothing. they have shown the designs and they look bad.
Spoken like a true fan. This is why you are the best at what you do and personally, for me, this is the best channel to know everything about borderlands.
I think they look awesome but I am sad that there’s no cool mysterious robot this time 😢
Just me maybe but this feels less like borderlands every new game we get.
Apparently, even the big guy's arm can be swapped out completely. So they're probably meant to just take a bunch of customizations as usual.
the funny thing is butcher rose is my background wallpaper for my pc after you play the dlc and see the black and white artwork of her I took a screenshot she has to be my favorite character and Im glad that they didnt kill her and she escaped because her story was well made and you really didnt want to kill her even before unearthing that information.
Hearing this guy say "shit" after hearing his calm voice for the timeline videos blindsided me lmao
Wait, when did he say that?
@williamfranciswhite450 pretty early in the video
I just realized that the blade guy has robotic lower legs. That's an interesting detail that gets cut off in the lineup and is barely noticeable when we see him flipping around using his blades.
No robots smh
That's what i'm saying!
@ robots rise up
Never know what a future Dlc could cook up
I hope so
Getting discount Tyreen Calypso vibes from the second from the left character when all 4 are standing next to each other walking.
They look like 1 character rehashed into 3 more characters. This might be explained by them all being siblings. But yeah i don't vibe with how overly similar looking they are beyond body shape tbh.
How does the 7 foot tall jacked cyborg viking look in any way similar to the 5 foot nothing thin as a rail nerdy engineer?
@@josefstalin9678 Same skin tone and same hair color. Both are striking parts of a character's color palette. And I already addressed that their body shapes are the only thing majorly different about them, lowering your reading comprehension doesn't look good on you my man.
@@SwirlyTwirl Same skin tone? Are you blind? Theres very clearly 2 lighter skinned, 1 medium skinned, and one darker skinned VH in that trailer.
CEO Randy could just have the head artist to revamp thier hair and eyes and better slicker outfits ect then we all be happy lol
Lazy charakter design is a big indicator for lazy game as a whole. Thats simply it!
"AI, make me some vault hunters that walked right out of cyberpunk 2077."
That’s just social media being social media I love the design
well you can love their design, but still its awful as fuck LMAO
tyeh have zero distinction visually, compare it to the other 3 games and at least there you got something cool about most of them
I really think they should have made one of them a robot or creature or something. Zer0 and Fl4k are probably what most people think of when they think of Bl2 and Bl3 Vault-Hunters.
The other three are somewhat passable, but the black techy girl is beyond forgiveness for me, she doesn't even look like a borderlands character that's how out of place she's.
Lmao. Literally how? Do your eyes not work right or is this trying real hard to hide that it's a race thing? She looks fine.
A “black techy girl” is “beyond forgiveness” for you lmao?? Bro yall are going out fucking sad this shit is pathetic
@@FelisImpurratora race thing? There are literally several other NPC’s shown that have a different skin color, this dude isnt making it a race thing. She literally looks so out of place, it looks like the character designers took elements from overwatch and shoved it into a borderlands character.
@@FelisImpurrator Yet you exposed your own racism by making it about race and thinking she doesn't fit because she's black...
@Elittys Except as mentioned in the video with a comparison, she literally looks like the Maliwan tech concept art, so this is an actual meme.
In a game about badasses, only one gives off a badass vibe
They look exactly like every other vault hunter lol i sware "fans" have a karen quota they need to fill out for every new game that comes out.
I'll be honest, when I first saw the trailer I didn't even recognize that one of them is a siren. Usually they make it well known who the siren is
watch everyone just use the siren... again
Always my first character since day 1 on bl1 lol
There’s a few things that could explain the basic character designs. The first being that the developers wanted to get away from the characters being the main focus and really show the story. And the second possibility could be they are planning to let us customize the vault hunters similar to Wonderlands.
Borderlands 4 is just going to continue the cycle of destroying this once beloved series.
Yeah, that’s what I’m pretty much expecting at this point.
Yeah, a lot of visual noise but none of it is distinct enough to draw your attention
dont have any issues with the trailer i am ready to play the hell out of it
honestly if they took a tiny Tinas route and allowed us to pick from all the classes they're have ever been it would be super sick , to create are own story's, cause they look like tiny tinas random custom characters
