Hi Caitlin! I found your channel through Doreen. I never practiced yoga but I was looking into some thing that could help me move my body in a healthy way. I am really thankful that you have taken the time to practice discernment in this area and provide a great resource for us Christians who just want to get a little stretching in LOL. Also I think it’s great that you take the time to respond to peoples comments about their qualms with your stretching I don’t quite understand why people are so adamant about doing yoga but thank you for standing strong in the faith and for your videos ☺️

Thank you so much, Denisse. I am so grateful and humbled to be doing them.
Ha, it’s tough at times, but I was in their shoes at one point, so I think I just come from a place of understanding. I just pray that The Lord uses it. 💛

I am a ballet dancer who has to stretch every day in order to get myself flexible. I started to notice that some of the stretches in my dance class look like yoga. I am so thankful I found this video in order to keep myself flexible and increase my range of motion! Thanks so much for this video, I’m so thankful for the time that you put into your research!

God Bless you Caitlin ❤️ I had pinched a nerve in my neck and it was so excruciatingly painful... my chiropractor suggested I do Yoga to relieve the pain. I went home and found you! You truly do bring Glory to the Lord... I was so touched at the fact that you said you pray for all of us... and that if we only had a few moments to spare in our busy day then you encouraged us to get into the Word.... I am so grateful for you...God is using you to bring healing to so many of us. Thank You ❤️

I recently felt a conviction within me about practicing yoga after doing further research and finding out what it truly stands for. I knew then and there that I had to stop and it kind of discouraged me. Then I started looking for non-yoga stretches and ended up liking them. Thankyou so much for this. you definetely have a new subscriber.

  • @bizlists

I can't believe when you search for stretching on TH-cam, 99% of the videos are YOGA. It's so frustrating. So glad I found your channel. I had to CAPITALIZE NO when typing "stretching no yoga" to get results. I really think it's unfair for those who really just want to stretch without yoga to have to go through that much!

Hey, this is denise I left you a message on Instagram. I’m a Christian and I had started doing yoga unaware of it history and when I found out the roots of Yoga, I was devastated. God so convicted me and his loving way and I had to ask for forgiveness for sinning against him that I should have no other gods before him and that I cannot partake of a cup of demons anyway. I loved Yoga. I love the exercise and I felt totally lost and devastated after I left Yoga. Thank you for providing an outlet for us Christians to be in touch with their bodies and live a holistic lifestyle and still be a Christian without compromising our Christian values I would love to see the video as to why you stopped yoga.

Caitlin!!! Sooo great! I need to participate in your channel more! I’m living in my van right now and get quite stiff. I just did these stretches on my bed. It was so great! And I’m in the word every morning💕 . I’ll like to start making your channel an evening strengthening. Or just after reading..
So!! A couple of summers ago at the dog park, 2 dogs tearing through the land like a dog tornado took me down side swiping my knee. Sadly, I’ve done little to nothing for it and it still aches sometimes, especially with cold weather.. it has grown better with what little I have done for it. when I went on my knees during the last posture, that knee will not close all the way like the other. I just focused on it for a while, slowly closing the knee. Then leaned back and just did some knee movement.. I really wanted that back and shoulder stretch too!! Could you show me how to modify the shoulder stretch without being able to kneel like that and /or help strengthen my knee so that I can again? maybe some type of stretching?? Is it a bad idea to try and have a full closed knee, the way yours do? Or better just to honor as far as it goes, based on the reason being it’s because of an injury. A never cared fir injury. ?? I know you’re not a doctor.. but would still love your wisdom about it.

Many thanks💙...I did have some weird experiences and found some info that lead me to this question about a stretch you did. Do you think that the pose where you are sitting on the floor with one foot touching the upper thigh of the outstretched leg and your upper body is leaning over them with your head resting on stacked hands could be a combination of two deity worship poses?

Ok I know I’ve commented a million times on this account it’s just you seem very educated. When I search yoga poses. It shows me pictures of them and even just standing is a yoga pose. It says the splits are a yoga pose. Like I highly doubt God is against us standing still or doing the splits. How would this be invite demons? God gave us these bodies to move in any way and why should we give the demons power by being afraid to do certain movements with our body? God is more powerful than anything and it says nowhere in the Bible about certain poses being demonic. Early Christians used to fight over if they could eat certain meats because they used to be used as sacrifice for idol worship. But the argument was ended with a bible verse saying to eat any meat in the market without inquiry because of your conscience. Just don’t stumble anyone that feels it was offered in sacrifice. So I think that can apply to yoga. Yes certain poses were used as idol worship, but we can still do them without the intention of worshiping idols. As long as we don’t go telling people to do yoga because they could go down the wrong path and get them into chakra and namastae and all that stuff. We shouldn’t live in fear that certain moves of our body will make demons posess is but instead live in faith that God will protect us from anything because if we don’t have a firm faith then demons can attack us whether we are in a yoga pose or not. When I say this I’m really breaking it down t just the poses. I’m not saying it’s ok to do all that emptying your mind and namastae stuff yoga does, I stay far away from that. But merely doing the poses for stretching will not invoke demons. People say there’s no such thing as doing the poses in a christin way because “that’s like saying you commit adultery in a Christian way” but the difference is, adultery was clearly stated in the Bible that it was a sin so there is no way of making a sultry Christian. But no where in the Bible says doing certain poses with your body is a sin. God gave us these bodies to do any pose. Just like how god gave us colors and we can pair with other colors. Just because occult’s and pagans used to paint with certain colors doesn’t mean painting with those colors will attract demons and is sinful. Before Hinduism, these poses were just poses. They had no power. You may say, well once it became a Hinduism practice, something powerless was made bad. But if we think like that shouldn’t we also think that God can make anything that was turned bad, good again? So what I’ve come to believe personally is that doing what are considered yoga poses while ALSO having the mind emptying yoga mindset and trying to reach that spiritual realm is very dangerous as a Christian and steer clear! But merely doing the physical pose is not going to cause any harm at all. God came before Hinduism, he is above all of that. As long as we don’t have the intention of worshipping other gods or reaching the “spiritual realm”, as long as we stand firm in believing God will protect us, nothing can hurt us. But please feel free to reply with your view on it as I’m still open minded.

Hi, Brooke! Thanks for your questions, I don’t mind at all! I wanted to start by saying, I understand EXACTLY where you are coming from. Before The Lord led me to some passages in His Word, I settled on that same verse in 1 Corinthians talking about the meat offered to idols and thought “surely this is the same context, and if I am not causing anyone to stumble than I am okay to do yoga!”. Unfortunately, that’s not what the Word says, and here are some verses for you to look into if you’d like 💛
First I would like to touch base on the passage in first Corinthians talking about food offered to idols. Nowhere does it say that the Christians were participating in the sacrifices, therefore they were just eating the meat, they were not actively participating in pagan practices. In Genesis 9:3, God specifically gave his people all of the creatures for food. From the very beginning of time after the garden of Eden, God commanded that food be for us. That being said whatever people choose to do with that food is up to them but we know, and those Christians know, but in this specific situation those idols meant nothing because the one true God gave that food to us. Taking that verse and now saying that we can now actively participate in pagan worship is unfortunately taking that verse out of context.
The Lord calls us not to participate in any pagan practice, not because we should fear those demons as you mentioned, but because of his HOLINESS. Let’s take Deuteronomy 12 for example. God told his people to tear down pagan alters, smash their pillars, and leave nothing behind even gold and jewels. People would say, “well that gold could help them buy food and provide for their people and just because it was used for pagan worship does it mean that is used for that same quality in my own life.” But that is not the point of the command. The point of the command was to smash everything and not ever be associated with any pagan practice not because we are drawing attention to their idols but because of the Lords holiness.
“You shall tear down their altars and dash in pieces their pillars and burn their Asherim with fire. You shall chop down the carved images of their gods and destroy their name out of that place. You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way.”
      ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭12:3-4‬ ‭ESV
You could also say based on that passage, “well I am not worshiping these yoga poses just like they were not worshiping the pillars and statues.” But let’s look and see what scripture says about spiritual worship.
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:1‬ ‭ESV
We are to present our bodies in a way that is holy and acceptable to the Lord which IS our spiritual worship. If we are actively participating in a pagan practice, in which The Lord says specifically not to, then we are not offering our bodies as a sacrifice to the Lord we are actively participating in a pagan practice. You had also mentioned that the Lord made our bodies to do this and to move this way and that shouldn’t be taken in a negative light just because a group of people said so. Again, let’s not look to our own thoughts and opinions let’s go to the word of God.
“Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.”
      ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭4:7-8‬ ‭ESV
The Lord specifically tells us to stay away from these irreverent myths. Subversion say godless myth. So even the Lord notes that they are irreverent. They mean nothing. Not because that these demons don’t have power because Scripture says we know that they do based on people being oppressed and possessed. But because we have the power of Christ but that power does not mean that we can actively participate in pagan practices it means that we can submit our bodies as a living sacrifice to the holiness of God because that’s what we are called to do.
Now based on just standing, the splits, poses such as that. There are poses that were the original creative poses meant for worship and then they were poses that were created along the way as the religion grew. Clearly we are not gonna stay away from standing straight or sitting down on the ground because that is just ridiculous haha. But the poses that were specifically created to worship demons we are called to completely turn from. Yes, our bodies were created to move because that is how the Lord made our bodies. But God did not create our bodies to move in yoga poses. A pagan practice did that created the specific poses to honor and worship specific demons and invoke their spirits.
I want to end it with this. We should absolutely never live in fear of any chances of demonic oppression. You are sealed with Christ, you have the living Spirit of God living within you, and you are free in Christ. But like Paul says in the Scriptures, that freedom does not mean we are subject to our own desires. It means we are free to live in Christ, for Christ.
As a Christian we would not actively participate in the use of a Ouija board, right? We know that that board is not just a fun kids game, but it’s meant to bring forth demons so we stay far away. Not because we’re scared, but because The Lord instructs us to, and we don’t want to open ourselves up to spiritual oppression. In the same way, we stay away from these poses, because just like the ouija board, these poses when participated, are meant to invoke specific demons even if our intentions are just to stretch.
I really hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any more questions! 💛

Caitlin Englebert when I talked about the verse I didn’t mean the Christians were sacrificing The meat to idols, but other people would sacrifice certain meats to their false gods, actively participating in pagan worship. So the Christians fought over whether or not eating those meats were okay because those people used those meats in idol worship. The Christians were just eating meat, but they were wary to eat it because other people did pagan worship with it. That’s when They ended it with that verse. Isn’t it the same with these poses? (Now I’m talking about it stripped down to the poses, not the oms, mind emptying, the meditation part of yoga) so doing a pose with my body is not active pagan worship. I’m just doing a pose. If doing a certain pose is active pagan worship then eating meats is also active pagan worship. Even if we are “just eating meat” like we are “just doing a pose.” But eating meat is not idol worship so a certain pose also isn’t. Active pagan worship would be doing the poses along with the “namastae” “om” “empty your mind to reach the spiritual world” “chakra” etc.
You say not to associate with anything used for idol practices. But SO many things have been used for idol practices. You say he destroyed the jewels and rings too. But it’s still ok to wear jewels and rings today? Every day we do things that someone has used in active pagan worship.
And since there are the original poses used for worship, and then the ones created along the way, is there any website or something I can look up to educate myself on all the original poses? To be honest I still think I disagree with you but I’d still like to know the original poses to be aware because I’m still deciding on if I believe these poses by themselves are wrong.
1 Timothy 4:7-8 said not to waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives tales. Like we argue over yoga. And then it says while training your body is good, don’t prioritize it over training you spiritual fitness. The thing is when I’m doing a Christian meditation and doing poses (some may be yoga some may not be), I am training my spiritual fitness by praying to God and meditating on the word.
Lastly, I believe the poses themselves don’t invoke demons. It’s the poses plus the yoga mindset/ worship. So just moving your body in a certain way isn’t like playing with a liking board. But if you empty your mind, chant to goddesses, yes that is definitely making yourself vulnerable to oppression by negative spirits. But no where in the Bible does it say “thou shalt not do downward dog.” Ok that was more of a joke but you get what I mean. As children we must have done multiple yoga poses without even knowing it because children move their bodies in all sorts of way. And I did yoga poses when I was younger to stretch in dance class. I wasn’t invoking demons. Because the pose themselves, when the intentions are pure, isn’t harmful. I believe it’s the poses AND a the mindset that is dangerous.
This is an edit/afterthought: you say the original poses are bad because they were used in idol worship, but the ones that came along the way are fine. But what separates the original and ones that came along the way if both have been and are still used in idol worship? There are still people today who use yoga as idol worship and use the newer poses to do so. So wouldn’t that make the newer poses bad too because people have worshipped with the newer poses? If we ban doing something just because someone used it in idol worship we are going to have to ban pretty much everything.
But your points made a lot of sense and made me think. So is there a site or something I can look up so I can know the original yoga poses? I’m still deciding whether or not I believe the poses themselves are dangerous but I would still like to know them.

Hi Caitlin, I am a Bible Student for 6 years. I was just wanting to say these videos are very nice and well made, but I was wanting to drop some info/insight from another Mature Christian, critical thinking with help from Holy Spirit and bible meditation. As long as your doing stretching without Yoga mediation, mantras and sequences, that are practiced specific ways to invoke demons, your good to do any of the stretches you may see from Yoga as they are universally utilized in different fields of fitness as it would be virtually impossible for any Christian, who wants to please Jah, to stretch without doing Yoga if that makes sense to anyone, for Yoga doesn’t own all stretches or even those that may be commonly seen like Downward dog. But if you do feel tempted to add the yoga components or feel concerned about what I am sharing, then don’t any advanced or any stretches beyond what you are doing now, as I would be deeply hurt if I stumbled anyone here, especially you. I just wanted to convey what I found from modest research, critical thinking, asking the question of “what is difference between regular gymnast or Pilates stretching from Yoga stretching”? to that Mature Christian, who is well versed in both fields, and most of all prayer to the most high, since I seen a few stretches in the vids that are also used in Yoga. But again, I don’t anyone and certainly not you Caitlin, to feel potentially stumbled by this information. I hope may be helpful info as you do such a great job with your videos and helping people to stretch without fear of committing Idolatry.

Hello!, grand enigma! Thank you for your input! Truly! Unfortunately, there is no way to do yoga without adhering to the idolatry. I am not sure how much knowledge you have on the subject, but almost all yoga position are worship towards specific polytheistic deities. The goal of yoga is to unite or “yoke” yourself to something Hindu religion calls “Brahman”. This impersonal force that is “god”. One way they do this is through yoga. By performing each yoga posture, they are invoking that particular deity that is associated to each pose to help them reach “enlightenment” and become “god” themselves. We know, as Christians, that these deities are in fact demons and, unfortunately, you can’t separate the two. Each yoga position was CREATED to invoke this demon spirit when performed, even if the person intends it to or not. For example, a Christian, or hopefully anyone for that matter, wouldn’t go and play around with a ouija board. We know that that board was created to invoke demons. It’s the same, and will always be the same with yoga. When the positions are done, it invokes the spirit. These demons don’t care if our heart is bowed to Jesus. They are there to steal, kill, and destroy. Also, scripture is clear when it says that our hearts are deceiving. We are to only follow the Word of God, and the word is very clear when it says to flee from idol worship, which is why you will not find a single yoga pose in my videos. I am very particular in that regard. I hope that this helps on clearing up the intent and purpose of yoga and why you can’t separate the two based on our hearts’ intentions.

Yes I'm a bit confused too I don't think this video is very helpful. the title says Non-yoga stretches but she is incorporating yoga stretches in her vids I'm not being a hater I was on board and even subscribed until i saw her doing this. But If I'm confused its definitely a sign I really shouldn't gamble with this.

Caitlin Englebert I see. I just did research through online libraries like JW, a few other Christian sites, and also athletics sites as well. I used to do yoga myself when I was just starting my fitness journey, however, found that it was demonic so I stopped the practice and haven’t committed to it 4-5 years, Yoga teachers have stated that are person that looks like their doing yoga actually aren’t doing it if they didn’t have proper components. As for me, I haven’ t wanted to do any yoga at all in spite of seen it in different tv shows, movies, and other websites, though highly inattention on my part as I wanted to find non spiritual alternatives like Pilates and Gymnastics, to achieve high level flexibility without Yoga, which is why I did more research into the topic, ask for Holy Spirit ,and advice from Mature Christians about it to make sure I wasn’t committing Idolatry. I am glad though you responded, and I thank you for your input as well. Interchange of encouragement we had Romans 1:12, I love it👍🏾.
