  • In this video i will cover the basic settings in Orca Slicer.
After watching this video you are ready to rock with Orca Slicer.
Orca is in my opinion one of the best slicers out there, it is a fork of Bambu studio and is a perfect mix with Prusa Slicer, where they have taken all the best features and put it into one slicer.
    You will NOT be dissapointed.
Orca just makes every print look amazing, which some of it has to do with the pre-configured print profiles.

Thank you for this video. I am anxiously awaiting your more in-depth video on Orca. I am trying to find a better slicer for my models. I have an Ender 3 S1 with the Sonic Pad. I started with Creality slicer then moved to Cura slicer. My prints are ok but I want better. I started to experiment with Prusa slicer and have been pleased but I'm not sure where to go to change some settings to improve speed. New language, lol. I have 3x ender 3 v2 printers running off a sonic pad. It's a huge improvement for print speed and quality. I used orca slicer previously when the enders were stock and like it much better than cura. But this is so far the only setup instructions to mate the 2.
1 question, how do we ensure the sonic pad is in control of speeds and not orca. You made note to do it, but not the how. Do we just 0 the speeds in orca?

Hi, and thanks for your comment, yeah it is a huge improvement with the Sonic Pad.
Orca does the same as Cura when it comes to the Sonic Pad, instead of adding a specific printer, you just add a klipper controlled device, and then set your bed size and so on, in Orca you do the same to uncheck Orca to control acceleration and so on. 😊

    • @TechByHesselbech

To receive files on a virtual “drive” you need to give and have access to its ip address or make a shared drive to be able to receive and send to it.
With some work you should be able to make a connection between the two, you need to dedicate an ip address on your virtual “machine” raspberry pi, and then make a shared folder/drive.

If you want to be sure not to have Orca controlling your print speeds, you should set all the speeds to 0 in the print settings. Orca knows your firmware because you choose klipper in the G-Code flavor settings.

Hi , yes you can use almost any printer with Orca depending on your firmware but anything is possible, the pre configured printers you can choose in Orca is printers they added as pre-made profiles, but you can add and configure a printer in Orca for you specific needs.
If you are running for example Marlin firmware, you just check that in the setup menu, and then you just add your Bed size and so on.
Then you can find reference Start and end g-codes matching your printer, and then you are good to go.

@@Medivh78 hi, ok then you just make a custom printer profile in Orca,
The “only” thing the slicer does is to make a file which is based on “simple” codes / movements.
The start and end g-code is just for the slicer to know your coordinates of your printers bed.
