Great review! I actually have a 4 cylinder Defender. I think it’s more than enough, and I came from a V8 LR4. However, I live in Cincinnati, which is only a few hundred feet above sea level. I clocked a 7.2 second 0-60 in my P300. I also feel that the P300 application in the Defender is much more refined than in the Evoque and XE that I’ve driven.
The tip on the accelerator is terrific. I have experienced exactly what you described and your advice has fixed it. I loved the vehicle already and this was one of my few minor annoyances. Thank you
After watching many, this is a top two on road review of the Land Rover Defender. Well done. Very informative on the real world uses of every day driving. Off to check out your off road video now too.
I love my truck.. had mine like 2 months now.. my ONLY complaint is some control positions.. the shifter setup sucks.. ive put it in part a few times by accident.. the temp controls kinda silly too.. one switch for multiple things.. and THEEEEE WORST is the vehicle assist... it's almost caused accidents cause it stops the truck on its own in bad situations..example... went to go around someone turning.. the sensor picked the car up as I was passing it and slammed on the breaks.. dude behind me almost hit me.. NOTHING IN A CARS PROGRAMMING SHOULD GO BACK ON AFTER I TURN IT OFF. cars didn't come with any of this stuff and life went on
Wind Noise!!!! Try driving the classic Defender (I have one) so I'm looking forward to having a non-shouting conversation in my new one. We've become a bit precious.
So basically it's a wind noisy, touching throttle ,turbo lag vehicle. With a terrible sound system I have a 2018 Land Rover discovery and I pretty much hate it. the seats are hard as a rock and the sound system is awful. Had to replace the windshield after one year because it was leaking inside the passenger compartment on the floor.
I have to say you sound like you've simply bought the wrong ' type' of vehicle or perhaps your an idiot who bought the wrong type of vehicle....I don't care

How is the vehicle holding up any lag at all in the 4 cylinder
Love the POV on/0ff road videos. It’s not just about the trails, it’s bout that long road to get to them too.

I really like the fact that you call the Defender a car, not a truck like most 'murican people.
I would say it’s the refrigerator that’s in the center armrest for the dogs food that makes this a great fit for Kyle, Blue, Ellie and Alyssa.

JLR removed lane centring on all their MY21 products; factory says it is for “safety reasons”
the four cylinder engine is probably a Ford ecoboost engine so it is reliable as ford and just sound horrible.

Nope. This is not even close to my experience having put 6k on mine. It’s a stellar vehicle.
