Zack morphed into an old man while Andrea rocked an ear-to-ear grin during the off-road segment. You can't expect your gal to dress in a hip manner and deliver a youthful spirit and yet drive like Miss Daisy! Haha Great review, as always.
Andrea has the first qualification of a good driver: she remains calm and composed. Zack, you need not worry. Body on frame or unibody, Land Rover took care of off-road capability and, for them, that is mission accomplished. TFL took the Defender, an FJ Cruiser and 4-Runner to Moab. Only the Defender never scraped. Reliability works on a scale. JLR does not produce many vehicles every year when compared to Honda for example. This gives them less "samples" to work out the ripples.
KILLING it Andrea! Wow, you are amazing! Off-roading in the snow and telling us all the specs at the same time. You were having so much fun. LOVE this review. Zack you are one lucky guy!

Having worked for a JLR/Rolls Royce dealership, I’ve driven the older Defender 90/110s (which were $$$). I loved them, ...but they had horrible road manners and very questionable build quality & reliability. I’ve been in this new one and I believe it captures the spirit of the past Defenders... which I (and many) thought would be far to difficult to achieve. Land Rover appears to have pulled off the impossible. I’m impressed, especially in that colour. Well done them. Despite pricing...It doesn’t surprise me that they are selling so well. Great review Guys and thanks for another video.
@ 17:17. I test drove a Defender 110 very similar to the one in this video. I absolutely loved it. In fact, I would have drove it home had it not been for the fact that I had a deposit on the R1S. So I waited. I just took delivery of the Rivian R1S this past October and it was soooo worth the wait. Nothing I test drove comes even close. Not the V8 variant, not the 4 Runner, not the Bronco, nothing. Forget the fact that it’s electric. The on road performance, off road capabilities, the cargo space, the seating space, the efficiency, the manufacture’s warranty, the sound system, the quality of the interior and the burly exterior. I would purchase the R1S again today at it’s higher price without hesitation. Yes, it’s expensive (totally get it), but I’m just saying none of the money goes towards over the top opulence. It’s evenly spread out in awesome capabilities across the board.

Hi. Great review and a format that I've not seen before but it works great! I've had my Defender 6 months now and so far no technical issues, 5000 miles covered and its great to drive either road or track. I have had a lot of accessories fitted and painted black which has added to the cost but as Andrea said you can custom the car to your liking - a tip JLR have got from Jeep I think?
Wow, have never seen a passenger actually grab the wheel but Andrea your big smile never wavered for a second--I've been tempted to do it but have never crossed that line. Maybe Z should take some nervous medicine next time they go off-road . . .
Did you get a new camera? Video looks great. Also, I live in an area where many people an easily afford this type of thing (not me). And I can confirm that they’re selling. I’m starting to see them all over the place.
Land Rover, for tackling the wild frontiers of Bloor-Yorkville and West Vancouver. I can roll my eyes all I want, but people love this brand, even with their quality issues.
Love Spending Saturday Morning with Andrea & Zack. Zack: my faith level is at zero (even the leprechaun failed to show up). So I have taken matters in my own hands now 😆.
Great review guys. Zach, have more faith in Andrea, she is awesome but you look so scared when she is driving. Perhaps a quick test drive prior to shooting the video will get you both used to the trail. Keep the good reviews coming.
I mean, so far, it just looks like the I6 is relatively ok, but apparently the 4 cylinder looks like it needs a rethink on what the computer says it should run at, vs what its actually doing. As TFL can attest to this when they tried to get a bone stock Defender with the steel rims. Had it less than a week, and it had to go back, spent weeks there, first it was fixed, then it wasn't. Then JLR sent an engineer over from the UK. Still couldn't figure out what was happening with it, so they tried getting another one. Then the mechanics at the local dealer (while fitting it with one of the options they asked for), accidentally severed the main wiring harness, so it was dead. So JLR just decided "Here, take this one." and gave them one of the fully loaded I6 versions. So far, no major issues with that one, just something with the reverse camera system, which is affecting most of the defenders out there. Its like the old adage for Land Rover, "It can go around the world, but it'll stall when trying to leave the grocery store parking lot."
Wow, sorry to hear this. Hopefully, the I6 you have will be okay. Our friends have a Ranger Rover Sport and they have been in and out of the dealership for the last 3 weeks. They are pretty frustrated.
To be fair Andrea was four wheeling just fine. I wasn’t nervous at all. Hey have you guys ever considered doing some sort of ranking or metrics for the vehicles that you review? Love the channel btw...

The Land Rover Defender is literally "walking out of showrooms" across the country. It is an amazing car and they spent almost a million miles in testing in Africa. As a result the Defender is very very good.
I see the Honda Element in the shape, sans rubber panels of course. It looks like a Honda Land Rover collaboration to me. Not bad but not as nice as the previous defender style. Just personal preference. It's capabilities are for more interesting though.
Hey Zack & Andrea. Great review!! What exactly are the reliability issues on all these Land Rover vehicles? Is it mainly engine/transmission issues or are they just put together poorly? Thanks!!
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it. There are a variety of issues, check engine light went on with the 2L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, 360 degree camera wasn't working properly and the tow assist system had some issues as well. Of course, this isn't on every vehicle, but these are some of the problems being reported.
That Rivian question was ridiculous. The Tesla truck, the Rivian, the Bollinger, the Lucid or even this new “Canoo” vehicle ....are little more than pipe dreams that few will ever see or even hear off. I have a friend who put down the $100 deposit on his ‘Cyber Truck’.... 2/3 years later he’s still waiting for ... something/anything. Most of these new brands will end up like the award winning (non-produced), “Dyson” car.... Does anyone even remember that one?
I have watched 100s of reviews on this car already, but this is the one I have been waiting for. Always objective and honest! So, how many times this car die during the whole time you spent with it really?😅
Wow, thanks for this, glad you enjoyed our review. We actually didn't have any trouble with it for the week to be honest with you. It was really good to us, thank goodness!
@@andreaspencer9813 As Zack rightly pointed out, you have to accept the matrix. A perfectly beautiful designed car with lackluster reliability. Go or not go? Tough decision!
Hey!! First to like and first to comment. I’m flabbergasted. What do you think about V8 Defender? Is it over engineered for Defender? How about a comparison between X5 and Defender?
@@andreaspencer9813 I totally agree with you. I think most owners do. I saw one person on Facebook trying to transfer a lease after buying him out for $20,000. Now that's a bad investment.
The body on frame design is better for a four wheel drive vehicles that are used for serious off-roading. I had a chance to experience the four wheel system on the Discovery, very impressive perhaps one of the best. Very expensive vehicle, some reliability issues however very cool vehicle especially with the inline 6.

I have a friend who put down the $100 deposit on his ‘Cyber Truck’.... 2/3 years later he’s still waiting for ... something/anything. Most of these new brands will end up like the award winning (non-produced), “Dyson” car.... Does anyone even remember that one?
Great 4x4 🚘
Zach is literally me when my wife drives
Wow i really want one 😩
I have watched 100s of reviews on this car already, but this is the one I have been waiting for. Always objective and honest! So, how many times this car die during the whole time you spent with it really?😅
Wow, thanks for this, glad you enjoyed our review. We actually didn't have any trouble with it for the week to be honest with you. It was really good to us, thank goodness!
@@andreaspencer9813 As Zack rightly pointed out, you have to accept the matrix. A perfectly beautiful designed car with lackluster reliability. Go or not go? Tough decision!
Andrea, if Zach doesn’t behave on these videos Seven straight days of avocado toast! 😆 LOL
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it video. Yummy avocado toast!
Zach needed a beer or two or three after this shoot.
I just want to see how these air ride suspensions handle after 5 years and how expensive this vehicle to maintain.
Apparently it takes far less then 5 years to fall apart based on consumer feedback
So if it was super reliable you'd drop $90k on this? Doubtful.
Hey!! First to like and first to comment. I’m flabbergasted.
What do you think about V8 Defender? Is it over engineered for Defender? How about a comparison between X5 and Defender?
ouu yikes... i think i was first
@@bodmonjay : Noooo. There was 0 likes and zero comments before I liked and commented. Lol
@@LuvvSURYA you commented 22 minutes ago, i commented 23 minutes ago...
@@bodmonjay : Damn!
With new ownership of the brand a few years ago, will this now be a reliable vehicle or still a terrible purchase?
I would lease it! There are reliability issues with this vehicle, hopefully Landrover will fix this because it's such a great utility.
@@andreaspencer9813 I totally agree with you. I think most owners do. I saw one person on Facebook trying to transfer a lease after buying him out for $20,000. Now that's a bad investment.
@@friendlyneighbourhoodbrown7263 Yikes!
The body on frame design is better for a four wheel drive vehicles that are used for serious off-roading. I had a chance to experience the four wheel system on the Discovery, very impressive perhaps one of the best. Very expensive vehicle, some reliability issues however very cool vehicle especially with the inline 6.
Is it made in India?
It's not made in India, it's made in the UK.
A bit disconcerting how the centre console lid swung all the way back like that. Already broken?
No, it creates a table for people sitting in the back.
Its cool looking and has the luxury vibe over it! A rich mans or woman attitude! For reliability and for hard work Toyota hilux for an overall package Land Cruiser
