Lost my Dad 31 years ago aged just 42, 6 months after his father died, and now I'm ten years older than he was when he passed, oh how I would love to sit on a bench in the park with my Dad now, who would only just have turned 74 and give him a hug whilst my 2 Grandsons played ball . R.I.P Dad n Grandad .
How Pokémon my Dad was 42 when he past his Dad my Grandad was 75 6 months before, I'm now 52 my Dad would now be 74 if he was still alive and I am a granddad myself to 4 boys . hope this helps .
A lot of us as our parents get old, seem to forget the love they showed us when we were young. They sacrificed for us and never complained, yet when they repeat over and over the same question sometimes,either from hearing loss, dementia,we lose our temper,then we catch ourselves....The video is so true, always LOVE, Respect and Care for your parents. I See so many people dump their parents in nursing homes cause they are in the way. Sure the ones that are sick is different. But if u can care for ur parent till the end, then do it..They did for u all their life and never complained.
I agree with you the other day I was having a cigarette and I notice this lady was walking with a about three or four grocery bags in her hands and her son in his mid twenties was walking ahead of her he was not helping her he was walking so fast and he was telling her to hurry up hurry up you are walking too slow mom hurry up I went over and I ask the lady if she needed any help she refused but still I should have punched her son in the head that was disgusting and his poor mother was walking so slow because the bags were heavy and her stupid lazy son could not give a shit

I saw a man, middle age I guess, walking his dog. Looks as if the man was very mad at the dog, for not doing his business as fast as the man might have wanted. Or something else?Then I saw the man take the leash and whip the dog like he was a piece of shit. Started to kick the dog and listening to the dog cry.I went over an yelled at the man, he told me where to go. I did not go away, the little doggie was shaking. I called the cops, they came right down. I told the story, got it on my cell phone anyway. Not sure what happened, but they did take the man away, and someone from his family came over and took the dog in horror.Jist of this story and yours is, we can't just walk away, close our eyes, or look the other way, as most Americans do. We are a nation, unlike all of Europe and the rest of the world. Our nation seems not to want to get involved. Sure we stop for the car accidents and injured. That is human nature. As is the dog story. People love dogs. But, domestic issues outside ones home or homeless people in trouble, people walk right by. Americans don't even say hello, instead the "HEAD" drops fast.. We have all seen this. Go to Europe or Australian and see strangers saying "Good Day" or Hello to strangers. It's really nice to see. What are we a shy country, that could care less about common courtesy?I have been in Europe when people have had enough, and instead of hiding in their living rooms with the shades drawn, doors locked, and TV blaring, people take to the streets in thousands and protest. John Luciano I don't have anything against the Americans or Canada but you are right about one thing in Europe if you don't like something they start burning their own streets it may be a tad overboard but they do protest in the thousands they go absolutely fucking nuts if something is not going right it's true that's what American Canada should start doing spill to the fuckin streets and start protesting in the thousands and thousands but they don't do that I don't know why

Spend as much quality time with him as you can, 'cause you don't know how long you'll get to do that. Both of my parents are now gone and I miss them both.
I went through the same thing get frustrated with my dad not hearing what I was saying or what my kids were saying too. I even yelled at him to how stubborn he was. Through all that yelling I did, he still was the most loving and caring person I've ever met in my life. He passed 2 years ago, deaf and stubborn as he was I miss him so much and have to live with myself on how I got mad at him just for being old. You don't know what you have till that person is gone.
My hurt results from the fact that as my parents became older, I would become bored listening to them discuss things in their lives. I would want to get the discussion over with, rush out, and be on my way to things I wanted to do. But then each one of my parents died unexpectedly, a few years apart. Now I wish I could spend hours with them, listening to how their day went. With their passing, my wholeness as a person, ceased to exist. Pieces of me went with them. There's nothing I wouldn't do to hear them speak to me again ! My advice to all of you whose parent (s) are still around, give them your time. Once they're gone, the hurt is forever present. I love and miss you mom and dad. I'm sorry for not giving you more of my time.
ValentineDayTwin Hey there, I'm so sorry for your loss and I must say, I also missed so much precious time with my Dad, especially in the very years- or months - before I lost him. But then, he did come back from his deathbed once when we already thought he was gone, and I was so in shock and terrified that in the end I may have just failed him at that time because I could barely talk... anyways, the important memories, those that are supposed to last, are not those "famous last words" we see in movies (in my case: seeya tomorrow then) but the ones we have kept in our memories from those very special moments, the ones we won't forget and the only ones that count. I know what you're saying though, there's this piece of my soul missing that can never be replaced

This brought me to tears. I lost my elderly father late last year and at times I would get very short with him. I was his caretaker for years and it took a toll on me. I started to eat and drink to levels. When he said he was "doing the best he can", I pulled back and learned patience. He taught me a lesson as his son. I'm grateful that I was with him with the moment he passed. Boys tend to be close to their mothers. I held my composure when she passed and he was inconsolable and became worse when I told him I loved him and tried to do the best I could to comfort him. I grieve more with his passing because he was the last parent. Pull back and smile even though you get angry and feel hostage to an elderly parent. The man had pride and wouldn't let me clean him until close to the end. You get use to the Assisted Living Management calls at all hours. My father taught me a lesson with his decline and I hope I don't live until my mid-nineties. He never complained despite mine. We all have a sparrow story as we're all marching in this direction. That's all I wanted to express. This son is probably forty or so. I'm much older. Be grateful for the time you have with them as your mind will haunt you and you will explode in tears and cannot stop. It comes in a second.

Ms. Emily, thank you for your reply nd I wish you a happy life and hopefully you have learned something as I try others to know. We all have different stories and backgrounds and it can be easy to get frustrated and angry. I feel at times my father was "playing with me" when he slipped into dementia. I figured he was hiding from me something I thought he knew he was going through as a younger man. I'm very A to B. Get it done for him while my home is a mess. Then, you realize they don't always realize the fact they're losing it and slipping into what is very scary. I get it now and wish I realized it earlier. However, I was there for him for years as he was for my Mother. I didn't fully realize his pain until I had my own dealing with him. Make the time and try to appreciate an older person's perspective with dealing with the their mortality and your own. I don't mean to be depressing but it hits you in the head eventually. May all your dreams and happiness work for you. Life is not easy.

Your father was patient with you, be patient and forgiving of your self as well. the most terrible illness is the loss of memory and self and witnessing it is extremely painful. Both my father, and my father in law had alzheimer disease. You would have and did, do everything you could do to help...you are human..you are someone whom I do not know, yet I feel that I would know you if we passed the street...you are not alone...

we have been created to love each other and you can see the kid (only 2 years old) starts to cry when he sees his mother acts as being beating up by someone. But while living in this life for a long time, our hearts are being effected badly with all of this worldly life to extend that sometimes we see some people who would insult their mothers and fathers, or beat them up. now God is ordering and reminding all of us to be good to our parents. if you are arrogant and start saying something like "I don't need book to tell me to love my parents." then why don't you say the same thing to this video. or to all of the kids stories that teach the manners of loving the parents. Thank you for uploading & sharing this. I'm guilty of this & now I am the one that sometimes goes through this type of misunderstanding/misinterpretation. You see, my mother was hard of hearing ever since a child & I recall when I was a bit younger, I would get frustrated at her for having to repeat myself to her over & over again. Well, after living through war for 16 months & being blown up several times, I am the one that is hard of hearing now & tend to frustrate people when I ask to reassure myself of what I thought I heard. Definitely a hard lesson learned. But it instill a lot of patience and compassion in me because of these experiences. Definitely a humbling experience. Man, I cant stop crying but it's a good thing to release these emotions from time to time.
people out there who are reading this.... I loved my dad very much... he was my best friend... my superman...incredible hulk. Feb 5,2010 was the worst day of my life because my best friend died in my arms... watching his life leave his body was the absolute worse thing... So anyone who is reading this... make things right with your family because once they close their eyes and the Dr says those words..."lets call it. time of death"... you don't want...would've, should've, could've....I did everything I could for my dad. but my brothers have to live with that guilt... rest in peace EDMONDO ARCHULETA....( 1943-2010) I'll always miss and love my dad...I would give anything to have him back.. and to be healthy...like I said make things right.... family will get mad but you don't want to be like my brothers...

That's exactly what happen with my family too. My brother who we were so close growing up never contacts me, I've tried many times, my sister I don't know where she is. It like I have no more family.

This is so beautiful, I saw my dad for nearly a week now, after about 4 months of absence, I also sat next to him, and watched him sitting there so fragile, his right arm shaking uncontrollable from the Parkinson's decease, his jaw shivering, and I was so sad, tears rolling down my cheek, thinking of the once strong man he was, feeling sad at all the times that I was impatient and just nasty to him, yet yesterday when he hugged me, I only felt his unconditional love, and nothing else......love your parents guys... we never know if that hug was the last one....I will never stop loving my mom now nearly 8 years gone....I love you dad!

My grandmother has dementia. She is the sweetest grandmother anyone could ever ask for, always has been, I remember when I was 2 or 3, the things she would teach me, the stories she would tell me about the world. As I got older she would tell me more complicated things like about WW2, the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl... Now she asks the same questions over and over... I just keep answering as though it was the first time she asked.
Both of my sons are gone and i could only wish that i had the opportunity to see my 2 little babies grow and grow. Now they're my 2 little angels in heaven watching daddy grow old until i get to meet them once again. While you wait in peace my little angels, daddy will find you again. Forever in my mind, and forever in my heart. Daddy loves you, Jayden Thomas Hameed and Jordan Mark Hameed.

IIUzzymanII, I am sorry for your loss. I know how it feels to lose a family member. I had a friend who lost her brother when he was seventeen years old and knew another family who lost a son the same age exactly one year later to the month. The first one died in a car accident when his car lost control. The other one died of cancer. My adoptive mother passed away on November 3, 2000. :( :'(

i had the chance and didn't do it enough. i told him i loved him but it was kind of done by habit. what i wouldn't give for a chance to hug him and tell him i love him and really mean it.
Of course this video emphasizes the fact that we should be patient with our aging and elderly parents. But, what about our brothers or sisters or friend or neighbors. Will we one day regret that harsh word spoken or angry ending to a relationship? We should all look at what consequences our words carry. Kind words that are spoken are remembered, even by a stranger.

not all kids are un-appreciative, a LOT of kids are, im a kid, and everyday i see other students complain about their parents not buying new phones after they break it, ive never had a phone. i dont want one, for amusement, i watch how kids act at my school, always wanting to get things first, thinking they're popular, when most of these kids are dim-witted and inconsiderate, i have only had one true friend in my 12 years of life, and he was seperated from me, now i just have to survive in the hordes of idiots i call school.

Both my mom, and my mom in law have dementia. Both ask and tell the same things again and again. Occasionally, both will say, "I've asked you this before, haven't I?" I tell them they have, and they say, "Well I won't ask again." I always smile at them and say, "Yes, you will ask again, but when you do, I will answer just the same as if you asked me for the first time." It always makes them smile, which is the goal I am aiming for. I love them, and I know they can't help what they do. It takes lots of patience and deep breaths, and understanding that they can't help what they are going through.
Great short film but It made me laugh because I knew It would be something to that effect. our parents raise and protect us from birth to adulthood and then It's our turn to return the favor when they get older, forgetful and helpless. Always be kind to your loved ones!!!!!

This video quickly reduced me to tears. My mom was a strict parent and it seemed as though she fussed from sun up to sun down. But she always told us that one day she wouldn't be around anymore and we would understand the lessons that she taught us. As she got up in age and her health failed, my siblings and I took turns taking care of her until Dad retired to be home with her. After several strokes, she had lost the use of both hands. I can't explain the patience and joy that I felt as I sat next to her and slowly fed her each meal. It wasn't a chore, but an act of love to be treasured. Just being in her presence made my insides smile. And when God knew that she had had enough, he called her home to be with him on Valentine's Day of 2006. To those who still have living parents, take time now to love and honor them with your whole heart so that when they leave this world, you will have loving memories to hold near and dear to your heart. well I'm 61 now and it's true. we grow from infancy to adulthood and as we get old we start going back to infancy in our mind. our own children just don't understand that. I see it everyday in my parents and I try to do but no longer can as I'm handicapped now. the young generation should show more respect and appreciate what they have while they still have it
so often we take those we love whom love us in return for granted. we forget that tomorrow they could be gone. I was sitting with little girl who is 8 while watching this and made me realize that I need to cherish this time. thank you for sharing :) :)
My father-in-law was diagnosed with Altzheimers in his last few years... you know what I did when he kept asking the same question of me over and over? I answered him as if he had only asked me the first time... 3, 5, 10 times the same question... and you know what? I answered him as if he had asked me only one time... he was a ww2 veteran who landed on Utah Beach on D-day... he was a hero who actually made it back from wwII after chasing the Nazis through france, liberating concentration camps, and was on the verge of being deployed to the pacific theater when the bomb was dropped. yeh, if he asked me the same question a thousand times, i'll answer him every time as if he's asked me it once.
I lost my mom two years ago. I was very close to her. I have my dad, and he's 78 and in pretty good health. I visit him daily, and I kiss him hello and goodbye. I just sit with him and we talk, sometimes for hours. At times, he tells me a story I have heard before, but when he asks, "Have I told you this story before?", I simply answer: "I don't think so". I don't mind hearing the stories a few times. There's so much I didn't ask my mother, that I am not making the same mistake twice. Thank you for posting this.

when my twenty years old son gets short with me my heart breaks into a thousand pieces. I now understand how my dad must have felt when I was that age. it is ironical that despite ample human understanding about this feeling when you actually experience it you can't reverse it since that adorable person that you once hurt is no more.

I hate it when parents try to pretend to be dumb and just WAIT till their kids get pissed and once that happens they start telling them about the stories when they were young. They literally take advantage of their kids young age and try to get love out of them. Love must come from the person itself. Not the parent forcing him to love. You can clearly tell that guy was just acting. He heard him say it was a sparrow from the beginning. He was just waiting for him to get mad and flip out.

Robert Voicu I believe you have a framing problem. You are not yet aware of the fleetingness of your son's innocence and the beauty within. Sadly, it will be gone by the time you notice due in no small part to your destruction of it. Try framing it in the sense of him being honestly and earnestly rambunctious. Love him for his exhuberance, for his love of life, for his indefatigable vitality. Realize that he won't always be the same little boy vying for your attention and be aware that one day you'll want from him what you refuse to give him. You may also be encouraging bad behavior, if it is indeed bad behavior, by giving him attention only when he misbehaves. Being ignored is the worst thing for any human to experience.

OK I'm in tears I don't know about you but this hit home. We are all human but nowadays we don't take the time to really listen to what is said to us, to take the time and have that special moment with our loved one and most of all the senior citizens and little children. our older generation has a wealth of knowledge to give to us and in turn teach our little ones.
I didn't have parents growing up and now it turns out I can't have children. Nor do I have enough money. Can't get a job as I'm paralysed from the neck down. My dad told me this when he watched this video in 2010. I'm now 6 turning 7 in December. I love my dad.

I lost my dad, quite unexpectedly, in 1982. To this day my brother and I still grieve and feel guilt as to why we didn't know. Why didn't we hear him? Why didn't we see the signs? And if we did...could we have done something to prevent it? Did we fail him? Did he think we didn't love him? Every day we ask ourselves...Dad...why did you do it? Why did you leave us? We love you Dad...we always loved you. ❤ 😢

Wish my mother was still around to share moments like these. my mother died from killing her liver with alcohol, chains of events in her life lead her to believe that it would help the pain of the past. I became a Christian then soon a Christian soldier of the salvation army. she came to see me in roll. a month later asked me about God and Forgiveness. crying out not just to me but the Light I repusented. after a hour of praying and talking i left. she nearly quit drinking, a week later i got called out of work to take her to another City. she died in my arms two weeks after i comforted her. you never know when you will say your last Good bye. its been ten years. Honor your perents brothers and sisters. God bless you all.

A lot of us as our parents get old, seem to forget the love they showed us when we were young. They sacrificed for us and never complained, yet when they repeat over and over the same question sometimes,either from hearing loss, dementia,we lose our temper,then we catch ourselves....The video is so true, always LOVE, Respect and Care for your parents. I See so many people dump their parents in nursing homes cause they are in the way. Sure the ones that are sick is different. But if u can care for ur parent till the end, then do it..They did for u all their life and never complained.

As is the dog story. People love dogs. But, domestic issues outside ones home or homeless people in trouble, people walk right by. Americans don't even say hello, instead the "HEAD" drops fast.. We have all seen this. Go to Europe or Australian and see strangers saying "Good Day" or Hello to strangers. It's really nice to see. What are we a shy country, that could care less about common courtesy?I have been in Europe when people have had enough, and instead of hiding in their living rooms with the shades drawn, doors locked, and TV blaring, people take to the streets in thousands and protest. I went through the same thing get frustrated with my dad not hearing what I was saying or what my kids were saying too. I even yelled at him to how stubborn he was. Through all that yelling I did, he still was the most loving and caring person I've ever met in my life. He passed 2 years ago, deaf and stubborn as he was I miss him so much and have to live with myself on how I got mad at him just for being old. You don't know what you have till that person is gone.
My hurt results from the fact that as my parents became older, I would become bored listening to them discuss things in their lives. I would want to get the discussion over with, rush out, and be on my way to things I wanted to do. But then each one of my parents died unexpectedly, a few years apart. Now I wish I could spend hours with them, listening to how their day went. With their passing, my wholeness as a person, ceased to exist. Pieces of me went with them. There's nothing I wouldn't do to hear them speak to me again ! My advice to all of you whose parent (s) are still around, give them your time. Once they're gone, the hurt is forever present. I love and miss you mom and dad. I'm sorry for not giving you more of my time.

ValentineDayTwin Hey there, I'm so sorry for your loss and I must say, I also missed so much precious time with my Dad, especially in the very years- or months - before I lost him. But then, he did come back from his deathbed once when we already thought he was gone, and I was so in shock and terrified that in the end I may have just failed him at that time because I could barely talk... anyways, the important memories, those that are supposed to last, are not those "famous last words" we see in movies (in my case: seeya tomorrow then) but the ones we have kept in our memories from those very special moments, the ones we won't forget and the only ones that count.

This brought me to tears. I lost my elderly father late last year and at times I would get very short with him. I was his caretaker for years and it took a toll on me. I started to eat and drink to levels. When he said he was "doing the best he can", I pulled back and learned patience. He taught me a lesson as his son. I'm grateful that I was with him with the moment he passed. Boys tend to be close to their mothers. I held my composure when she passed and he was inconsolable and became worse when I told him I loved him and tried to do the best I could to comfort him. I grieve more with his passing because he was the last parent. Pull back and smile even though you get angry and feel hostage to an elderly parent. The man had pride and wouldn't let me clean him until close to the end. You get use to the Assisted Living Management calls at all hours. My father taught me a lesson with his decline and I hope I don't live until my mid-nineties. He never complained despite mine. We all have a sparrow story as we're all marching in this direction. That's all I wanted to express. This son is probably forty or so. I'm much older. Be grateful for the time you have with them as your mind will haunt you and you will explode in tears and cannot stop. It comes in a second.

We all have different stories and backgrounds and it can be easy to get frustrated and angry. I feel at times my father was "playing with me" when he slipped into dementia. I figured he was hiding from me something I thought he knew he was going through as a younger man. I'm very A to B. Get it done for him while my home is a mess. Then, you realize they don't always realize the fact they're losing it and slipping into what is very scary. I get it now and wish I realized it earlier. However, I was there for him for years as he was for my Mother. I didn't fully realize his pain until I had my own dealing with him. Make the time and try to appreciate an older person's perspective with dealing with the their mortality and your own. I don't mean to be depressing but it hits you in the head eventually. May all your dreams and happiness work for you. Life is not easy.

Thank you for uploading & sharing this. I'm guilty of this & now I am the one that sometimes goes through this type of misunderstanding/misinterpretation. You see, my mother was hard of hearing ever since a child & I recall when I was a bit younger, I would get frustrated at her for having to repeat myself to her over & over again. Well, after living through war for 16 months & being blown up several times, I am the one that is hard of hearing now & tend to frustrate people when I ask to reassure myself of what I thought I heard. Definitely a hard lesson learned. But it instill a lot of patience and compassion in me because of these experiences. Definitely a humbling experience. Man, I cant stop crying but it's a good thing to release these emotions from time to time.

Feb 5,2010 was the worst day of my life because my best friend died in my arms... watching his life leave his body was the absolute worse thing... So anyone who is reading this... make things right with your family because once they close their eyes and the Dr says those words..."lets call it. time of death"... you don't want...would've, should've, could've....I did everything I could for my dad. but my brothers have to live with that guilt... rest in peace EDMONDO ARCHULETA....( 1943-2010) I'll always miss and love my dad...I would give anything to have him back.. and to be healthy...like I said make things right.... family will get mad but you don't want to be like my brothers...

This is so beautiful, I saw my dad for nearly a week now, after about 4 months of absence, I also sat next to him, and watched him sitting there so fragile, his right arm shaking uncontrollable from the Parkinson's decease, his jaw shivering, and I was so sad, tears rolling down my cheek, thinking of the once strong man he was, feeling sad at all the times that I was impatient and just nasty to him, yet yesterday when he hugged me, I only felt his unconditional love, and nothing else......love your parents guys... we never know if that hug was the last one....I will never stop loving my mom now nearly 8 years gone....I love you dad!

My grandmother has dementia. She is the sweetest grandmother anyone could ever ask for, always has been, I remember when I was 2 or 3, the things she would teach me, the stories she would tell me about the world. As I got older she would tell me more complicated things like about WW2, the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl... Now she asks the same questions over and over... I just keep answering as though it was the first time she asked.

I had a friend who lost her brother when he was seventeen years old and knew another family who lost a son the same age exactly one year later to the month. The first one died in a car accident when his car lost control. The other one died of cancer. My adoptive mother passed away on November 3, 2000. :( :'(

Will we one day regret that harsh word spoken or angry ending to a relationship? We should all look at what consequences our words carry. Both my mom, and my mom in law have dementia. Both ask and tell the same things again and again. Occasionally, both will say, "I've asked you this before, haven't I?" I tell them they have, and they say, "Well I won't ask again." I always smile at them and say, "Yes, you will ask again, but when you do, I will answer just the same as if you asked me for the first time." It always makes them smile, which is the goal I am aiming for. I love them, and I know they can't help what they do. It takes lots of patience and deep breaths, and understanding that they can't help what they are going through.

Great short film but It made me laugh because I knew It would be something to that effect. our parents raise and protect us from birth to adulthood and then It's our turn to return the favor when they get older, forgetful and helpless. Always be kind to your loved ones!!!!!

This video quickly reduced me to tears. My mom was a strict parent and it seemed as though she fussed from sun up to sun down. But she always told us that one day she wouldn't be around anymore and we would understand the lessons that she taught us. As she got up in age and her health failed, my siblings and I took turns taking care of her until Dad retired to be home with her. After several strokes, she had lost the use of both hands. I can't explain the patience and joy that I felt as I sat next to her and slowly fed her each meal. It wasn't a chore, but an act of love to be treasured. Just being in her presence made my insides smile. And when God knew that she had had enough, he called her home to be with him on Valentine's Day of 2006. To those who still have living parents, take time now to love and honor them with your whole heart so that when they leave this world, you will have loving memories to hold near and dear to your heart. God bless you all!!!!!

well I'm 61 now and it's true. we grow from infancy to adulthood and as we get old we start going back to infancy in our mind. our own children just don't understand that. I see it everyday in my parents and I try to do but no longer can as I'm handicapped now. the young generation should show more respect and appreciate what they have while they still have it
so touching and meaningful , when they get old the roles turns the parent become the kid and the son become the father :)

My father-in-law was diagnosed with Altzheimers in his last few years... you know what I did when he kept asking the same question of me over and over? I answered him as if he had only asked me the first time... 3, 5, 10 times the same question... and you know what? I answered him as if he had asked me only one time... he was a ww2 veteran who landed on Utah Beach on D-day... he was a hero who actually made it back from wwII after chasing the Nazis through france, liberating concentration camps, and was on the verge of being deployed to the pacific theater when the bomb was dropped. yeh, if he asked me the same question a thousand times, i'll answer him every time as if he's asked me it once.
Im guessing when the son got his first car the father sat in the backseat and started kicking it.
God was right when He commanded us to honor our parents. That was a beautiful video. Thanks for sharing.
I lost my mom two years ago. I was very close to her. I have my dad, and he's 78 and in pretty good health. I visit him daily, and I kiss him hello and goodbye. I just sit with him and we talk, sometimes for hours. At times, he tells me a story I have heard before, but when he asks, "Have I told you this story before?", I simply answer: "I don't think so". I don't mind hearing the stories a few times. There's so much I didn't ask my mother, that I am not making the same mistake twice.

when my twenty years old son gets short with me my heart breaks into a thousand pieces. I now understand how my dad must have felt when I was that age. it is ironical that despite ample human understanding about this feeling when you actually experience it you can't reverse it since that adorable person that you once hurt is no more.

I hate it when parents try to pretend to be dumb and just WAIT till their kids get pissed and once that happens they start telling them about the stories when they were young. They literally take advantage of their kids young age and try to get love out of them. Love must come from the person itself. Not the parent forcing him to love. You can clearly tell that guy was just acting. He heard him say it was a sparrow from the beginning. He was just waiting for him to get mad and flip out.
this is just a clip that wants to prove a point. i have a 4 yr old son whom i swear is built to destroy nerves, he has that from me as i seem to realise...my only wish that in my old age he will have a little patience with me because with each passing day and each joy or bad time that goes by i am starting to understand my parents better...i wish i did it earlier...my parents deserved a better son.

I believe you have a framing problem. You are not yet aware of the fleetingness of your son's innocence and the beauty within. Sadly, it will be gone by the time you notice due in no small part to your destruction of it. Try framing it in the sense of him being honestly and earnestly rambunctious. Love him for his exhuberance, for his love of life, for his indefatigable vitality. Realize that he won't always be the same little boy vying for your attention and be aware that one day you'll want from him what you refuse to give him.
You may also be encouraging bad behavior, if it is indeed bad behavior, by giving him attention only when he misbehaves. Being ignored is the worst thing for any human to experience.

We are all human but nowadays we don't take the time to really listen to what is said to us, to take the time and have that special moment with our loved one and most of all the senior citizens and little children. our older generation has a wealth of knowledge to give to us and in turn teach our little ones.

Been their caring for my parent with ALZ for 8 yrs. Not easy until you know and understand the disease. Beautiful and sad. Which taught me to care from my heart not just face value which is prevalent in society today.

I lost my dad, quite unexpectedly, in 1982. To this day my brother and I still grieve and feel guilt as to why we didn't know. Why didn't we hear him? Why didn't we see the signs? And if we did...could we have done something to prevent it? Did we fail him? Did he think we didn't love him? Every day we ask ourselves...Dad...why did you do it? Why did you leave us? We love you Dad...we always loved you. ❤ 😢

Wish my mother was still around to share moments like these. my mother died from killing her liver with alcohol, chains of events in her life lead her to believe that it would help the pain of the past. I became a Christian then soon a Christian soldier of the salvation army. she came to see me in roll. a month later asked me about God and Forgiveness. crying out not just to me but the Light I repusented. after a hour of praying and talking i left. she nearly quit drinking, a week later i got called out of work to take her to another City. she died in my arms two weeks after i comforted her. you never know when you will say your last Good bye. its been ten years. Honor your perents brothers and sisters. God bless you all.

before my mother died we argued and weren't speaking to each other, and a month before that she out of nowhere told the entire family she was more proud of me than any of her children! and when she passed I never got to say I'm sorry or goodbye! if only she knew how she was the greatest lady I ever knew! and I was much more proud of her than she could of ever been proud of me!!! NEVER EVER LEAVE YOUR MOM WITHOUT SAYING I LOVE YOU! even if your mad at each other cause it might be the last time you see her........
