The last of the bulletproof Civics. Later generations (especially the 7th gen) had some pretty major issues, especially the hybrid and automatic transmissions.

My first car, and current car for the past 5-6 years now is a 2000 honda civic dx and do i LOVE driving this thing. Also, the surprising amount of compliments ive gotten for HAVING the car. I bought one in California, & upgraded almost everything to EX spec. Then the “99-00 EX driver seat” with knobs actually ruins the cushion-absorption over bumpy roads! So I switched back to the original & use an aftermarket thigh booster from China.
I just got a 2000 dx manual in February up in Michigan there are some dents but just like yours only 1 spot of rust on the outside. My only gripe is there is no rpm Guage so going to need a new cluster but I have so many plans for it and am excited
Found a Honda Civic hatchback color deep sea blue everything looks super clean 155k miles on it for 3k thing is it’s automatic should I get as my first car
I started with a 2000 civic HX, 1.6l VTEC-E, 5spd that got 50mpg~. Couldn't ask for a better first car. Me being a dumbass, I swapped the entire drivetrain to B series and threw on a big turbo. Now I get 20mpg on 93, but at least it makes cool noises and can accelerate :)
Is this a good buy? They are selling a 98 Hatchback with 121 thousand miles with auto transmission. I've always wanted to buy one. They're selling for 2,800. Guys what do you think? Should I go for it.
I’d like to buy a old civic like this but problem Is I have a Mercedes I’m currently financing and I’m not sure If I could afford a car payment and a fun car on the side ya know??
That’s one hell of a price if it’s vtec. I would keep the d16y8 and boost it to 200-300hp ! You got about 400k plus more out of that engine if taken care of ! Nice find
1996-2000 cars that look like 2002-2008 cars ! In France and Europe we have shitty cars like twingo 1-2, saxo/106 (well the 75hp is so fun for 850kgs), polo, golf etc.. this civic looks fancy compared to them !
I know there’s a station wagon hatchback Civic pretty old but it’s four doors and I think 4 wheel drive too I think can’t remember the year but saw an interesting video of one
1998 DX Hatchback was my first car. Thing was bulletproof! I miss it.

ok?

I have this same car but the dx special edition. All original interior and no rust. So happy to find a review on it
Those dead switches are for heated seats and coin holders. I road in the higher trim model of this car.
Do you know what the trims was?
I think it was DX, LX, EX.

my first Manual car was a 92 eg hatch and that thing had 0 power and was a great first manual car. Upgraded to a wrx within 6 months.
Sounds like a downgrade

This is the exact car I have, other than the color. And yeah I'd say it makes a good first car.

Would the backseat fit a baby carrier easily or do you think the room would be hard
It would fit if you slide the passenger seat forward a little

Any civic hatchback or civic in general is extremely reliable. Anyone can sell one for 1500 even if the engine is out or anything else.
Are all of the dx automatic or do you have to put them in?
I guess it's an option.
