I am a freshman, with all the struggles of school, and life is not the best. Everyone is competing for popularity. Seeing this reminds me of my childhood and how I wish I could go back to a simpler time.
Just graduated, and wish I could go back to the old days playing this game with my friends and cousins. This game changed my years in elementary school and being on a long road trip was not as boring. :)
A new decade has arrived. I feel like I should be happy, but all I feel is an empty sadness. perhaps it is the realization that I am no longer the curious young boy I once was. I have grown up.

I got to hear this a lot growing up cause I was really dumb and would delete the save a lot. It wasn't even me who would play the game, I'd just ask my mum to and she'd do it for me. 2021 UPDATE: I asked her if she'd do it for me again and she said she would, think I'm a little too old for that now though.
My mom played just a few times with tekken 3 and tekken 5 with me. Then she never touched a game and also my father did. Now they hate games for i don't know what reason and blame me for remaining a kid playing games
I know the sadness is because of the nostalgia to many, but I also feel a contemplative melancholy. There’s just something a bit depressive about Mario driving through an empty desert while all his racing pals drive past. And because of the system’s low resolution, it also looks like he’s saddened to be driving home. It looks like he’s barely keeping it together as he’s seeing everyone drive right past him, sort of abandoning him while bathing in victory.
Sigh... why can't Mario Kart Credits music go back to the way it used to be sort of emotional, Mario kart ds and Mario kart 64 had these kind of emotional credits making you feel like you really won, Enough of these up beat Jazz like credits that Nintendo has been using for the most recent Mario Kart games.

Today, in my final hour as a kid, I decided to listen to this piece again. I remember commenting here a few years ago. Who knew all this crazy stuff was going to happen in the last few years? We have all come a long way since our Mario Kart DS days, and whatever memories we have associated with it. I experienced this game for the first time as a 7 year old. I was reintroduced to it 7 years later as a 14 year old. I come back to it once more right before I turn 18. My view on life sure has changed in the last few years. Legacies formed and ended, visions developed, maturity came around, and new skills were picked up. I had no idea that I'd be able to read Japanese now. If somehow anyone sees this comment, I just want you to know... we grew up.

I played this song while I was walking home after the final day of 5th grade. I was so sad to be leaving my elementary school after spending over half my life there. 5th grade is a time and place I want to go back to so badly. I’m in the 7th grade now and can still see myself sobbing my face off on the walk home, then going to my bed and bawling even more. Since then, I’ve kept myself from listening to this unless its the last day of the school year or I’m crying alot after an event. Today was one of those events. I had a great time at the baby shower for my sister on the way, and I was crying a lot after we drove off. Anyway, this is one of the best songs in video game history. When I turned this on, lots of tears came rushing down before I even thought of 5th grade. This songs ability to make me do that is crazy. I wish I could stay a kid forever, but we all have to grow up.

Recuerdo que hace ya muchos años atrás, cuando era niño, la primera vez que termine este Mario kart me puse a llorar con este final por alguna razón que no entiendo, y ahora que los años han pasado ese sentimiento de tristeza sigue volviendo a mi cada vez que escucho y veo este final.

damn this is so relaxing. Last year when on a bus trip with school I brought along my Nintendo DS with Mariokart and instead of making fun of me and laughing at me, most of them were all jealous and asked if they could play one game. haha good ol days..

This makes miss my grandfather so much! He was the one bought 2 DS and this game! One DS for me, and another DS for my brother. We used to play this all the time, and have fun with our cousins. And Grandfather was an amazing man... Since he passed away, nothing has been the same...

Exactly the same. Freshman too. I remember beating this game at my grandparents and hearing this music. It brings me back to the exact moment. It's weird how this is basically time travel. I remember everything in that exact moment!

This and the PIKMIN 4 credits really make me tear up. I don’t know why, maybe just because of how well it signifies “the end of the game”. I’ve had so many good memories with Nintendo. I want to go back and experience it again.

Cant help but come back to this theme. Idk how to explain it but for some reason this theme alone is what makes such a great game so memorable, I had so much fun playing this as a kid. What a wonderful song, and what a wonderful game as a whole.

I’m graduating from HS in a couple days and I’m just revising my childhood basically I remember playing this game over and over and over again and never getting tired of it. This ending credit scene always makes me tear up when I hear it…….
It makes us all shiver as we remember the good ole days, the simpler times, full of nostalgia playing with friends on the bus, especially playing it with my friends in the projects, just had so much fun without a care in the world, man I miss my childhood 😭.

I vividly remember crying at this when I first played the game back in 2010.
So glad I played it as much as I did in 2005-2010, was a fun game to play with friends as well as online when bored. A shame that it will never happen again but the memories are there forever.

I played this song while I was walking home after the final day of 5th grade. I was so sad to be leaving my elementary school after spending over half my life there. 5th grade is a time and place I want to go back to so badly. I’m in the 7th grade now and can still see myself sobbing my face off on the walk home, then going to my bed and bawling even more. Since then, I’ve kept myself from listening to this unless its the last day of the school year or I’m crying alot after an event. Today was one of those events. I had a great time at the baby shower for my sister on the way, and I was crying a lot after we drove off.
Anyway, this is one of the best songs in video game history. When I turned this on, lots of tears came rushing down before I even thought of 5th grade. This songs ability to make me do that is crazy.
I wish I could stay a kid forever, but we all have to grow up.

It is currently the night before my graduation and here I am listening to the Mario Kart DS end credits to remember the good times of when I was a kid. I do miss being a kid sometimes, such simpler times.
