I absolutely love the ending of Mario Kart Wii. It’s just that the song makes you feel like you’re going home after a long trip to see your family again.
Nathaniel Byers There used to be a fb MKWii group where you could exchange codes with people worldwide in order to play competitively. I exchanged codes with a bunch of people and we would play tournaments. For some strange reason this guy and I would continue talking through FB inbox after MKWii. After 7 years, and an 8 hour airplane ride I took, we've been together for over 5 years... totally planning a MK themed wedding!
+Nathaniel Byers Can I... Can I give you a virtual hug right now? First because of your comment, and second before you made it with the two main characters of Eden of the East - Anime that I need to finish, for I love it. Totalyl sorry if I'm being creepy. Cheers for the good ol' times..
M Productions I was 8 when I played this game in 2008, such a good game although the forced motion controls didn't help, but at least there was the option of playing with a nunchuck which is far better then playing with a Wii remote by itself. Although other people may hate it but I really enjoyed this game, it is the last Mario Kart to keep it's original logo and the last to have actual racing, I'm not hating on either 7 or 8 because they are both great games mainly 8 out of both of them, but it was a time before flying and anti gravity were here to change up the formula and it is nice to play with flying and anti gravity but sometimes I come back to this Mario Kart and earlier titles in the series to play them for nostalgia.
Who agrees with me that Mario Kart Wii is better than Mario Kart 7? *UPDATE:* Thanks for 1500+ likes & 200+ replies. It shows that my question's been answered throughout these past 5-6 years. I don't hate MK7 myself, but it had the potential to be better than it actually was, even for a portable/handheld game. Thanks again for all likes & replies, I really appreciate them :)
BangersAndMashmonkey in my opinion is the wii just the best console with the best games. I mean listen to this music. It's like it says "I'AM THE KING, HERE! THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF NOSTALGIE!!" XD
I started crying when I saw this. This was my first Mario Kart I ever played. I remember running around my living room pretending that I was playing. My sisters grew up playing Mario Kart 8 and unfortunately hate this game, but I still have my aunt and cousins who love this game. I don’t play it as much as I used to but it’s always a treat to play this game. This will be my life. Forever.
This is the literal definition of nostalgia. I remember when me and my dad first saw the end credits for mkwii, we both just kinda hugged each other after it was all over! What memories.
This was the best entry in the series... and this music at the beginning :3 I was let down by 7 and kind of 8 - to me this had the most character and the best tracks.
jaffafox 7 was a major disappointment. I understand it was on a handheld and they had limitations, but so many things were left out. I mean Metal Mario and Honey queen as characters and not Waluigi or Diddy Kong. Really?! But I did enjoy the new tracks the game offered, and the ability to customize. As for Mario Kart 8, it's alright at best. It has some creative tracks, and a good soundtrack. However, the way you unlock characters was a total joke. They made the game way too easy in my opinion, and took away the thrills of unlocking a character. Then again, this is just my opinion after all...
Mariokart Wii is better than Mariokart 8, and here's why: First of all, they had a bigger roster. There is a more likely chance that you'll see your favorite character and not have to see lazy made characters like Baby Rosalina or Pink Gold Peach. Second of all, the end of every Grand Prix. This was repeated in Mariokart 7, but became just a highlight reel in Mariokart 8. And third of all, THE CREDITS. Omg, the credits. Do I even have to explain this?
yeah, I don't know what they were thinking with some of the characters. Some say the Koopalings were a lazy addition to the game, but at least they were in other games. And then there's... Pink Gold... Peach?? Where do they pull there ideas from, did they decide to get Metal Mario a girlfriend (again, MM I understand, because it's a powerup in SM64.) What's next, Turquoise Teal Platinum Rosalina??!... ... actually, now that I think about it...
This was the Mario Kart I grew up with, I remember moving onto this game to the next Mario Kart. Now it's happening all again with the BCP and MK8D. Both the Wiis credit and that games are a perfect send off,
I remember playing this when I was little and now, about 6 years later, the memories of this finally are getting to me. I remember watching these credits years back. By far my favorite MarioKart game.

Last time I played this game was summer 2017, and I was just reminiscing the time being a kid and even in that moment I was a kid. Now , I’m 22 years old figuring life out and I still love coming to these videos to reminisce ❤️
I'll say afters years of not playing and then hearing this I was wepping a little. All of the time and dedication I poured in to this game just all came rushing back. I hope someone can experience joy like this for something in there life.
Now I wanna be a kid again...... nostalgia has hit me hard after watching this. EDIT: I can still play this game on my wii U, as I have the disk, but it's just not the same as the good ol' days.
I remember when I was 7 years old with my Wii at my grandma’s house while I had my kitchen and master bedroom under construction and unlocked dry bowser. Also I had this credits. This feels nostalgic. I am going to be 20 later this year
When I was little,I used to play this game a lot with my dad. By the year,2017, I got a Nintendo Switch and I started play it so much that I forgot about my wii. Mario kart wii was one of my favorite video games since I was a kid.
Sends chills up my spine every time. My Wii bit the dust (disc drive finally gave out) on May 31, 2021 after 11 years of good times. I might fix it, but if not, I still have the hard drive and SD card if I ever decide to get a new Wii. Thanks for the memories and good times, Satoru Iwata.
@Poble in retrospect that comment was posted long ago😅. I ve changed since then. I 've learned to deal w trolls by now. Nonetheless you do make a valid point. Myself (4 years ago) could have used this. Cheers mate
4:07 THIS is a mario kart roster. None of this metal mario, pink gold peach, baby rosalina, tanooki mario or cat peach bollocks. THIS roster right here is the OG roster
I played MKW since I was 4 years old, and I keep playing it nowdays when I’m bored on the same Nintendo Wii… and let’s just say that I wish I could watch this credit scene for the first time again…
This was so beautiful and I remember the first time I saw this I was looking at my screen quietly once I beat the special cup about to cry on how beautiful it was seeing it.
Just yesterday I graduated from High School... I played the first song in this video on repeat in my mind and was just daydreaming as to what the future holds...It definitely won't be as grand or beautiful as this game though. My 3rd favorite game ever.
Everytime it ends and I see Iwata’s name, it makes me tear up. He made so many pieces of my childhood, this, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Sunshine, all of them around that era. Thank you, Iwata, for making mine and so many others childhoods. I still listen to Staff Credits B every day. Thank you.
I remember playing this game back in 2010 every single memory came fludding back as soon as I revisited this game but still haven't got a remaster for switch
wow. I remember when I first saw this as a kid. I was shocked. mouth wide open eyes wide open. “Did I just beat Mario kart” I didn’t realize i would see this so many times later but I was so happy. Mario kart Wii is the best Mario kart. nothing compares. it’s the first game I ever think I played ever. the music, sounds, characters, tracks, karts, bikes, it was all too good
Ever since I was a child this has always been my favorite credits sequence in any video game. It never fails to make me cry. After graduating from high school I watched this one more time. The first part is the moment of realization that you've finally reached the end of your current journey, and the second part is not only celebrating reaching the end, but also the start of a brand new journey. Thank you Mario Kart Wii. You'll always have a special place in my heart.
I remember getting Mariokart with my Wii. My mother got me into gaming, this was very first game, my very first memory of Mario. The first time I beat 50cc crown cup when I was a tiny lad. The memories I would have that my cousins same age to 10 years older than me…a game where we’re all the same playing field I remember that New Year’s Eve of 2012 we were all huddle together in my room playing 4 players with 5 other cousins watching all on a crt tv. What a wonderful time that was. I was only child and I was lonely in school, all I had was my family….and Mariokart. I grew in gaming and grew as a person too. I got a wiiu in 2015 and enjoyed it with Mariokart 8. To see that game thrive makes me happy but I reminisce about where it all began but I have to thank 3 people who made this all happen. My parents and Satoru Iwata. Fly high Iwata thanks for you for this grand game. I still make sure to play this wonderful game every year. Maybe I’ll get the old gang to play…..1 more time.
My favourite thing about the internet is being able to read people's life stories from the comfort of my home Hope you get to race with your cousins again one day
The credits. What can I say about them? The first part especially is a nostalgia trip. Many people, including me, replayed 150cc Special Cup/Lightning Cup just for that music in the first part. I did it many times and I would cry a lot just for it alone. Both the music and scenery are very emotional. Watching the other racers of that Grand Prix in Luigi Circuit during sunset is a teary moment, and then the camera pans upwards... It feels like a book is closing or a movie is ending. But it doesn't end there! Although the second part might be boring to the majority of us (me included), there was always that force that made me want to view the first part of these credits again. That's the reason I replayed 150cc Special Cup over and over again. The memories I have with this game are endless. These credits hit me hard, especially the first part and the emotions attached to it with the music and setting. I used to constantly beat Special Cup (or sometimes Lightning Cup as well) 150cc every time I could just to see and listen to this part. It always brought me to tears. I love these credits so much! They're an special part of my childhood that I'll never forget.
This was a game that most likely marked the lives of many, including mine, mario kart wii is an excellent game, great soundtracks, it is not one of the best graphics nowadays at the time, it was very incredible, so, in summary, mario wii kart It was and always will be an incredible game, when I saw these credits it hit a great nostalgia, it was the game that I loved the most .... We will always remember you Mario Wii Kart, and also you Wii!
and then mk9 or 10 comes and buttfucks your opinion. No for real i just played this game through some friends and god dammn this is a blast, it was just fun and the visual quality ... i think i came.*checks pants* "oh no, not again"

for some reason listening to this makes me cry, but its so beautiful to me ;D
Same thing happens to me ALL the time whenever I hear this song.
Now I wanna be a kid again...... nostalgia has hit me hard after watching this.
EDIT: I can still play this game on my wii U, as I have the disk, but it's just not the same as the good ol' days.
Yes, a Wii U can play Wii games. the Wii u will reboot into the Wii OS and vice versa.
@@samlazar574 vice versa wtf
yea what?
This brings back many memorie
Agree
the first Mario kart game I've ever played music is so nostalgic
Same
Nostalgia flows through my body.
I remember when I was 7 years old with my Wii at my grandma’s house while I had my kitchen and master bedroom under construction and unlocked dry bowser. Also I had this credits. This feels nostalgic. I am going to be 20 later this year
i miss Funky Kong :(
***** I love to play as Funky Kong, because He IS the best heavy Character. Mario Kart is not the same Thing without Funky Kong
That IS True but it is bad he is not in Mario Kart 8 I miss him ;^(
Ok?
If he comes back, the game would be dead
We need mario kart 9 with the new funky mod
My god the Wii era was something magical. It feels weird to know that it’s 18 years old now, but felt like it came out yesterday.
I cannot express how much I love this video ,it's even better when I play it ,and see my face on the mii statue. Gosh I love this game.
When I was little,I used to play this game a lot with my dad. By the year,2017, I got a Nintendo Switch and I started play it so much that I forgot about my wii. Mario kart wii was one of my favorite video games since I was a kid.
Probably the best credits sequence of any Mario Kart game
It is!!!
1:08 my favorite part
Mine is at 2:46! :D
Tim Herrmann same!!! I like the first end credit song better!
SantinoG1225 :D at least I'm not the only one now!
Happy new year’s everyone, this song was and is still the best song of the decade in my opinion!
But Mario Kart Wii is from 2008, not even on the 2010's decade
I totally agree.
imagine this: you just completed the entire game. it took you 2 hours but finally you' re done. you just listen to this music and relax...
mario kart wii
Sylvio #ContenteTV
Mario kart wii was my childhood and seeing this really makes me very nostalgic, i even cried a little
Sends chills up my spine every time.
My Wii bit the dust (disc drive finally gave out) on May 31, 2021 after 11 years of good times. I might fix it, but if not, I still have the hard drive and SD card if I ever decide to get a new Wii.
Thanks for the memories and good times, Satoru Iwata.
They have a kit for that online it's cheap
Mario kart 8 is great and all, but its soundtrack is NOT as good as MK wii's was IMO! MKwii and MK64 are still no.1 in my book
Yeah MKWii credits are much better than 8. And MK64 are the best credits ever.
mariofan5 I agree a 100%
The Mario kart8 credits music is awesome though
@Poble it's my opinion!
@Poble in retrospect that comment was posted long ago😅. I ve changed since then. I 've learned to deal w trolls by now. Nonetheless you do make a valid point. Myself (4 years ago) could have used this. Cheers mate

THIS is a mario kart roster. None of this metal mario, pink gold peach, baby rosalina, tanooki mario or cat peach bollocks. THIS roster right here is the OG roster
What about now?
If only it had Roy and Petey Piranha, it would be the perfect Mario Kart Roster
48 new remaster tracks are coming to mario kart 8 Deluxe!
@@juanca334 I hate them
Nintendo actually remade this game with better graphics on a console called the Nvidia Shield
I remember getting mad at my character getting passed by everyone in the credits, especially since I knew how to win against them
This is huge nostalgia. The Nintendo wii was my first console and this game was a huge part of that time for me
Second half of this gives me the chills. It's just sooo good. Probably connected to the fact that I used to play this game A LOT as well 😂
wow. I remember when I first saw this as a kid. I was shocked. mouth wide open eyes wide open. “Did I just beat Mario kart” I didn’t realize i would see this so many times later but I was so happy. Mario kart Wii is the best Mario kart. nothing compares. it’s the first game I ever think I played ever. the music, sounds, characters, tracks, karts, bikes, it was all too good
I can’t believe one of my childhood games is 15 years old now. Where did the times go? :,(
I'm not crying, just shedding tears.
Use this as the “feeling nostalgic” button
Ever since I was a child this has always been my favorite credits sequence in any video game. It never fails to make me cry. After graduating from high school I watched this one more time. The first part is the moment of realization that you've finally reached the end of your current journey, and the second part is not only celebrating reaching the end, but also the start of a brand new journey. Thank you Mario Kart Wii. You'll always have a special place in my heart.
I can’t see Staff Roll 2 without crying
I hate nostalgia
My favourite thing about the internet is being able to read people's life stories from the comfort of my home
Hope you get to race with your cousins again one day
The credits.
They're an special part of my childhood that I'll never forget.
fuck, the nostalgia and just the joyous buildup of Credits 2 overtop the credits scene, I haven't cried this hard in a while
This was a game that most likely marked the lives of many, including mine, mario kart wii is an excellent game, great soundtracks, it is not one of the best graphics nowadays at the time, it was very incredible, so, in summary, mario wii kart It was and always will be an incredible game, when I saw these credits it hit a great nostalgia, it was the game that I loved the most .... We will always remember you Mario Wii Kart, and also you Wii!
Yes
1:30 I always cry at this part for some reason
Wow... the 2nd part of the credits gives me goosebumps. The memories!
Sigh, miss the WiFi for sure, but this game is def the best MK out there!
and then mk9 or 10 comes and buttfucks your opinion. No for real i just played this game through some friends and god dammn this is a blast, it was just fun and the visual quality ... i think i came.*checks pants* "oh no, not again"
0:00 - 1:46 was so beautiful. I almost shedded a tear remembering all the memories of playing this game 8 years ago.
Same
I want to cry so hard
Let's cry together 😭
Damn, I’m about to graduate middle school and this song is what I’m feeling rn. MarioKart Wii is a fucking masterpiece.
Hows highschool Elijah Davis
Love the game thanks =)
