Great tutorial! Now I can actually move my webcam around on the screen in editing!
in every editor or just in premiere pro
Make sure u dont have the game and the cam on the same track or both will record same audio
@@oMexyo how do you change this? I know this is a late reply but still
@@qscapes3675 Go to yur settings. I believe its in audio. Set up track for each thing u are recording. But keep in mind. U need at least one track u dont mess with at all to record everything.
For everyone asking what it looks like streaming, it doesn't really mess with anything. Twitch and TH-cam both seem to add black bars to fit the stream into their default compression resolution. Not sure if you can set it up any other way, but it seems to still be watchable using these setting while livestreaming.
This is so helpful! I have a potato for a PC and some of the "newer" methods take away from my ability to record lag free and I have to play super laggy or lower bitrates but this seems to really allow me to keep both quality and performance so thank you for this. This is a case of an older video aging very well 😊 Thank you!!
Such a clear and easily understandable tutorial! Thank you so much for this, I was completely unsure about how to record my model separately from gameplay in OBS.
I can't thank you enough, hours of extra work just vanished with such an easy solution.
This is so awesome I have so much to learn- just following your tutorial here Kev I was able to achieve the exact thing on Sony Vegas Studio- it worked. I have so much to learn but am super excited given how far we've got in such a short time
This is actually a genius method. I was originally thinking to use two recording programs. Your method would save the hit to the performance on pc AND save a little on the file sizes.
You're a legend, thanks so much! I've been trying to find this feature for literally YEARS! I feel stupid considering how simple it is, appreciate it. I made a new Profile so it doesn't affect my other output scale (for streaming and stuff).
THANKS that's what I've been searching to do for hours now, very well explained.
I was looking into getting a webcam to increase the value of my videos but worried about the webcam always on top of my display capture, now I can confidently buy the webcam and set it up perfectly. THANK YOU ❤
Mind Blown, I didn’t realize the solution would be so simple! You get a new subscriber because of your genius
How have I only thought of searching this out! Great tutorial Kev, very helpful!
Bro this was THE best tutorial for this process. I’ve been struggling trying to figure this out and now man I want to thank you because you’ve opened up a whole new level for my edits. Thanks man much love. I also smashed that like button :)
can we edit audio separately after recording?
@@x3non453 yes
That's exactly what I was looking for, thank you for this amazing tutorial !
Love this tutorial. I haven't felt like I wanted to do this yet but the option is super nice to have. Thanks Kev
Amazing tutorial. Very detailed and perfect for what i needed!
Thank you Lollujo! Being totally new to the game we have been having some issues with things like this. We managed to record just our faces or just the game with several other suggested methods, I will give this a go on our next recording :D. Hopefully a much less fuzzy face cam incoming!
This works very well! Thanks for sharing with us! I really need this for my upcoming video and this seems to be efficient and easy!
Perfect, concise and to the point. Really helpful and just what I was looking for!
This is very useful. Will be using this. I have been subscribed to you on my personal account for years. Good stuff
Thank you so much for this
Ive been wondering how some youtubers were able to zoom into their webcam or go full screen in between gameplay
Now i know how 😅
Perfect tutorial! This is so very helpful, and for that thank you!
This was so incredibly helpful, thank you so much!
Great tutorial, very simple to follow and very informative. Thank you 😊
I've searched a bunch of times for this very thing. Thanks for the video.
Thank you so much for this tutorial, this really helped! I opened 2 OBS windows so I can record seperate scenes, but this is better!
Youre a God send Mate. Great vid, straight to the point and indepth
This is SO helpful! I wish I had known this when I started recording with OBS!
Dang man, this is seriously enlightening stuff! Shame OBS doesnt make multiple files seperate at the get go through a ready option. But this is real helpful :D
you can have two windows open at a time by right clicking the obs icon in the task bar and opening a second window
@@couchpotat or source record
@@CrypticxChris is that better in your opinion?
especially since they already support separate audio recording
Great video this helps out a lot I was using 2 obs application at a time and it was taking up a lot of cpu space which was making my videos lag and more this is going to be a huge help and upping my videos! Subscribed!!!!
Awesome tutorial man. I will definitely be trying this out in my video after this next one (I already recorded the next one prior to seeing this).
Extremely helpful, may need to keep this vid open just to help me step by step. But otherwise, and hopefully I can start putting Fx in to that separate footage now. Thank you.
thank you brotha , I can finally make my content more satisfying now💗
Bro this is genius! It's exactly what I wanted! Thank you my friend!
Fab tutorial, has made big difference to my son's TH-cam videos.
Seems like the best work around I've seen. Now to see how it goes.

Thank you so much man. Great video!
Nice! I already got the audio separated, so this’ll help in case I wanna take the facecam & put myself in hilarious green screened scenarios during a let’s play
you saved me so much time and fixed this issue for me lol thanks!
This was soooo needed. Thank you soooo muchhhhhhh.
Well, I learnt something new today! Cheers for the video Kev!
Thank you for the tip! Really helpful!
thhanks a lot bro this helped alot. i wanted to do this for awhile now
Awesome video Kev !!
Thank you for your nice and crystal clear content about this.
Thank you Kev, had no idea about that, no under why my facecam quality is not great
You sir are the mvp. you saved me so much extra work, thank you
your the goat, thanks so much!
Thanks for the video! After following this step by step I was able to accomplish this. However when I go to play the game my game screen is small. Is there a way to have full screen of my game while playing and recording without disrupting this tutorial?
Thank you! You’re the only one who addresses this!
this was insanely well done thank you 😁
Thank you I’m going to try it out hopefully I can make it work
Straightforward tutorial. Thanks for the help!
amazing video everything I searched for
This was very useful, had an issue recording on the bigger canvas but needed to change the recording output encoder from Hardware (AMD) to Software (x264) and then it worked. Also using davinci resolve to edit so the process to edit is slightly different but got it working to look the same as yours (with a bit of googling to work out how to crop and transform). Cheers for this as I couldn't work it out based on your previous video.
any tips? i also use davinci resolve and im not sure how to make this work with it
Useful tutorial, thanks man
Freakin' sweet tutorial, my guy! Thank you!
Thanks a lot! This is going to make my videos SO MUCH better.
Awesome tutorial thanks! got my sub
Bro I could not figure out how TH-camrs were moving their cam around and putting face filters on and stuff so thanks a lot 😊
Literally thinking outside of the box on this one. Thanks for the advice!
Outside the canvas you mean!
Great Video! I have a video idea which is what is the minimum or optimal specs you need for video editing or gameplay for your desktop or pc?
Awesome Tutorial
thank you. i will be recording like this from now on.
Perfection. Thank you so much!
omg thank you man! subscribed!
Excellent video sir! Much obliged!
This is great Kev!
This was exactly what I wanted to solve. Thanks!
THIS THE VIDEO IVE BEEN LOOKIN FOR. TANKS
Hey there, i would love to know how this shows up on stream?? or is this for only pre-recording for TH-cam content?
Great tutorial. Thank you very much
Really helpful video, Thank you
I'm not religious, but bless you for helping the newbie's find their way! So many people lead you on and give you advice that just leads you down a rabbit hole of videos - thankyou for being honest
Finally !! Thank you 🙏
THANKS SO MUCH DUDE
I use Davinci Resolve to edit and I can't figure out what the equivalent to "Sequence Settings" would be on Davinci. I thought it might be the "Timeline" but there doesn't seem to be a way to edit and clip the video like you do in your sequence settings editor. Anyone have any suggestions?
Question: When your live streaming with this method, will it be over the top of your gameplay?
super helpful, thank you!
This is fantastic! Thank you!
how do I add the webcam to the right it's just blank for me mate the left screen has my gameplay still with my little webcam in top corner? do I just drag it over or am I losing quality
Hi! Thank you so much for the video, it was super helpful. I want to run 2 instances, one for streaming with all of my overlays and one for recording so that my camera is separate from my gameplay, but I've run into an issue. I can't get my webcam to work on both instances at the same time. Do you have any idea how I could fix this?
such a simple solution. thanks.
I have a question when i do the same exact resolution for both I do have both my camera and footage but it doesn't cover the full screen. its black space at the top and bottom
what would the canvas size be if i wanted to do 1440p for both?
Thank you! Really helpful.
Will the OBS Settings video include how to setup the Display Capture scene for recording gameplay. I think OBS will work for my channel and the reason it hasn't is because I have been doing the setup wrong, so that would really help. Cheers!
