FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO SEPERATE AUDIO 1) If you followed this guy's tutorial, on the main OBS page, Right click "Webcam" go to "Filters" go to "Webcam Record" scroll down to "Different Audio" and change "Audio Track" to '1' & change "Source" to whatever mic you want. I did "Mic/Aux" 2) Next, do the same actions from step 1 but with "Gameplay" / Main OBS Page ---> Right click "Gameplay" ---> Right click "Filters" ---> Tap "Gameplay Record" ---> Scroll down to "Different Audio" -----> change "Audio Track" to '2' & change source to whatever you want. I did "Desktop Audio" 3) Now this is the most IMPORTANT step. Go back to the main OBS Page. Under 'Audio Mixer' which is the tab with the green audio bouncing up and down from your mic, and which is also in between 'Sources' and 'Scene Transitions' / You want to left click the 3 dots which are hovering above the audio button with the slider ----> once you left click the 3 dots (there's more than one, they're all above "Mic/Aux" "Desktop Audio" etc...) then you want to click "Advanced Audio Properties" 4) Once you are in "Advanced Audio Properties" you will probably already know what to do but i'll explain anyway. Once open, you will see on the far right side the "Tracks" section. On your screen all of the tracks are probably selected. If you followed my previous steps, for "Desktop Audio" unselect every track except for '2' & for "Mic/Aux" unselect every track except for '1' -----> Now if you have any other sources available and all of their tracks are enabled, uncheck all boxes of the sources you don't want to use. 5) Now go back to the main OBS page, press the hotkeys '1' & '2' to record and stop, and then check your files and you should have the audio seperated from the different videos. (IMPORTANT) ----> I probably have different sources from you (like "Desktop Audio" & "Mic/Aux") If these steps did not work for you, try messing around with YOUR sources & tracks, because atleast now you know where to find the menus. (OP you should really pin this cause everybody in the comments is having trouble)
If you want to separate the audio… select the track that the source is assigned to. Track 1 usually is the stream track so it contains all audio. If i have my mic assigned to Track 3 on advance audio settings then on the Source Recording plugin effect settings i select “separate audio” and select track 3 and the source mic/aux, then if my capture card is assigned to track 4 so on Source Recording plugin effect settings i select “separate audio” select track 4 and on source i select my capture card and boom 🤯 ALL AUDIO will be separate. Kinda obvious but it took me 2 hours to figure it out. Hope somebody that needed this can find this comment. Since I play music on my streams when selecting Track 1 on the source recording plugin it recorded my voice, the gameplay audio and my music all together because track 1 is all the sound at once. But you have to take the time to assign different tracks for all the sources you want to record separately. For example I have all my audio sources on track 1 for streaming, then i have my mic on track 2 and turned off on all other tracks. Then i have my gameplay on track 1 for streaming and then on track 3 and off on all other tracks and so on and so forth. Blessings to all 🙏🏽
@@chairunnisaanindita it worked perfectly for me, been using this setup to produce footage for tiktoks and yutube shorts. added the plug in for my capture card source to record my gameplay then also added it to an unrelated source of my overlay just to record my microphone audio separately from my game audio. Hope it works for you!
I have re-read your comment at least 10 times very carefully following each step and my audio still doesn't separate. could we link up? I need u to walk me through this
bro i have been looking for such a guy like you to clearly teach us how to do things in simple manners , thank you so much here is my subscribe for you
Awesome video, thanks for the help! I ended up getting the audio separate by making sure the 2 audio sources were on separate tracks using the audio mixer (Gameplay on track 1 only, and mic on track 2 only). Then when you setup the plugin, select the correct track and device and they should separate accordingly into each file.
Thank you sir, this fast tracked getting started for my wife's author interviews. She wanted a solution where guests didn't have to install any apps or programs. Worked like a charm after playing around. I figured out how to get separate audio: I set up a scene with two sources, guest and host. In the source record filter, settings for guest Different Audio; Audio Track - Track 1; Source - guest. settings for host same but change audio track to 2 and source to host. Then in main obs screen, right click on either source and choose advanced audio settings and uncheck all but track 1 for guest and track 2 for host.
Thank you so much for this cristp and to the point instructional video. It really helped me to record two sources at one time and using hotkeys even made it much easier. I tried many videos before but none gave such clear instructions
I wonder if changing the audio tracks in the in the main setting section can help with that… I’m gonna try this out tomorrow, thanks so much for his video!
All I did was not select a track for the mic audio and then got the separate just mic audio on my cam footage however truly separating doesn’t seem possible because at least 1 track needs to be serviceable
Banana Voicemeeter. That's how you separate your audio if it's multiple different sound sources, it should be possible to separate them through that application.
Posting this for anyone who may also have this question: Make sure you open the file location for OBS to find your directory. Once there, copy and paste the zipped files to the main folder (not the plugins folder). Reset OBS, and try again. If the problem persists, i can’t help bc i didn’t make it that far lol sorry
To record them seperately, you have to go to audio mixer and set which sources go to which audio tracks. Also while im here, obs is recording 3 videos, my 2 sources and the third one isnt labeled and its both of them. Thoughts on how to fix?
Yeah put 'source record' on a track, and take that track off of other sources in audio mixer. Don't put all sources on all tracks. That's too much party
7:09 If you’re just recording then what I do is tern off the mic on OBS and record it with audacity instead. At the start of the recording just count something on screen to help you sink it.
Thank you so much for the tutorial for dummies! This is going to help me so much record art sessions properly while I am streaming, so I can make speed paint videos later, too! -wiggles- \o/ Thanks a ton!
So Ive been coming across an issue and figured id ask here just incase someone can tell me what I am doing wrong. So this has been working wonderfully, but after I finish up streaming which is what ive bound my record button to (I stream on Twitch, and then later ill use the recordings to make a video for youtube or make clips etc for tiktok) I find that after using it successfully a few times, it now consistently corrupts the gameplay file I create, but not the camera and voice over one. I tried to reset the settings incase I did something wrong, but it still happens. Any thoughts?
I don't if my OBS is messed up but if I were to make 2 separate videos, the second video just takes over the first one I did in my files. Can someone help me please?
Does anyone know the answer? If you're hitting record on OBS anyway (say you have a screen recording) Surely you don't need to the have a second screen recording output like shown in the video? You can just have the standard screen recording from OBS main screen. Then the webcam using the filter?? Is this correct are there any problems?
It doesn't work at all for me and I can't figure out why. I changed to "software" and everything I could think of, but still only 1 recording is made. The hotkeys don't work at all is what I think the problem is, but I also notice the little "eye" icon turns off all the time by itself. Any ideas?
I'm not sure why but when I install the source record plugin and follow these steps, I am indeed getting 3 video files, but they all are the same thing (my screen recording plus webcam).
Question, I want to start uploading replays of my stream to TH-cam, if I did that you wouldn't be able to see the chat tho. If I made a copy of my scene and added a chat overlay to it could I use this plugin to record the copied scene?
Hey I have the sources but on some games the capture and or camera is fuzzy and blurry I try everything. But if I look at the record of video and cam together the quality is perfect
