I'm excited that we're getting very close to the ultimate retro handheld. When an affordable handheld manage to emulate decently NGC, PS2, Wii and 3DS, that's when I'll be buying one. Hope Retroid Pocket 4 will do the thing 👌
This system is close, with some software updates, it should end up very close. One thing that is overlooked a lot with these gen 6 and 3ds consoles is that frame rates weren't always perfect on original hardware. I think with some sort of dynamic resolution, it will run great on this system.
@@timzelyeah, but I did it on the 8th immediately after the preorder opened up, so they're probably going through as orders come in. They shipped it yesterday
That was such a rigged last second lost in that 1st race! Thanks for the great content as always. Wii's performance really surprised me! Better than I thought it would be.
Yeah, they really decided to wreck me at the finish line in a way that was impossible to avoid. I am shocked by the Wii performance so far. I didn't expect this at all.
I liked it much more on Super NES. At this point it has become...just not fun. At least for me! Although I enjoyed it well enough on the Switch, the Wii version just seemed to take that aspect a step too far for me to properly enjoy it. Too much random nonsense and not enough rewarding skill.
Already ordered mine. It will play most of what I want right up to 128bit generation since I mostly like 2D fighters and rpgs. I'm sure software updates and various settings will improve performance on many games. I'm just happy with 32 bit and 64 bit being near flawless, that's the golden age anyway.
@@actremix For me, SF3, CapvsSNK2, and a bit of GGX2 were all I really played back on xbox mostly but I had them for PS2 also. A friend of mine had CapvsSNK2 on GC. I'm glad they're easy to emulate now on cheap hardware, never been a fan of phone gaming.
Hey Seth, going back to PS2, RETROGAME Corps has shown Tekken 5 running like shit on the Powkiddy X18S Ultra (for who still doesn't know, it has a T618 CPU as well). Can you please find out if it's the case? Retroid has a small portion of the game in one of their video but it seems running fine... Also, when it comes to T618, no one has published a video where you can see the performance on Gran Turismo 4, I mean with other cars on track besides the players one....
They showed it working in a test on the retroid channel. It looks like its perfect. It was pretty close to being playable on rp2+/3 so its not a surprise. And yeah as expected it looks amazing on rp3+
Nope, PSP and Dreamcast is "the limit". Anything extra is "compromise" or "unacceptable" but, bear in mind that at this price, anything beyond the limit is "performance for free" as well.
Did you try Mario Galaxy? Thanks you for all the hard work. Amazing little handheld. Too bad is not shipping to my country. I will have to wait until it is available in AliExpress
Could you show some lower end games from these systems that might work awesome. For instance on the wii games like muramasa, boy and his blob, metal slug anthology. PS2 games like Odin sphere, ICO, red dead revolver. GameCube paper Mario TTYD, viewtiful joe, tales of symphonia.
Viewtiful Joe runs pretty well on the regular RP3 at pretty decent graphical settings. So, I would imagine the RP3+ is going to run it as close to perfectly as possible at 1.x scale.
Maybe rather play the pal versions? It's close to 50 fps sometimes in Mario kart. It should feel way better and the sound would probably play almost right.
Hello, could you make a video of the installation of the emulator and the front end as well as the optimal configuration? Thanks for your reviews of the console, greetings from Mexico!
Yes I can! I will eventually create settings guides for all the systems that need them, similar to what I did for Retroid Pocket 3. That will take a little more time though. :)
@@MjolnirStone I have ordered mine on 11.13 and still no update. Shipping to Germany might be the reason, or maybe because I have added a case to the order? Don't know. Anyway, I can't wait! Also, thanks for the videos. Great job!

This thing is surprisingly powerful.
Muramasa Demon Blade should be IDEAL for RP3+. One of the easiest Wii games to emulate and a looker.

If you aren't impressed with the performance at this price point, you might be impossible to please.

I wanna see "Wario's Shake Dimension" so much.
Man they did you dirty at the end of thst first race 😅
Is there anything that can be done in the settings to reduce the lag on Mario Kart and other games?
