They were on the verge of leaving the hardware business so kept the Wii as inexpensive to manufacture as possible and had their most successful system ever. Yeah, now they purposefully try to limit themselves and find ways to work around it. It also allows their console to sell for cheaper than the playstation and xbox consoles, making it a more affordable and tempting alternative. A very interesting method of going about things but seemingly it works, for Nintendo at least.

I really do wish they would make a powerful console. I know their focus is more on creating games that are unique and creative thanks to their hardware being unique, but I dont see why they can't combine both unique creativeness and power. Just imagine the same games we already gave with 120fps or stunning graphics. Not only their own games would be even better, but more third party support. More chances for third party developers to create games using the hardware's creativeness that wouldnt appear on other consoles. The only issue would be more cost, but I still think it would be worth it

Not only that but I swear Nintendo has the best games out there, they're basically the only company who actually puts out finished and polished games nowdays(that is if we exclude Pokémon but Pokémon is mainly made by gamefreak so my point stands),,, even though their games are probably well optimised just because of the switch's low power they are still optimised and polished games nonetheless

Nintendo probably won't make a new console for at least another five years the success of the wii was so huge and massive that if they just kept riding it they would have made more money than the catastrophic failure that the Wii u was, and now that they've struck gold with the switch again I'm sure they will be in no hurry to get rid of it for fear of making a bad console which is what the switch would already be if it wasn't super innovative and Nintendo programed like everyone else because the switch is one generation behind the generation that it was released alongside from a purely technical standpoint

I love my switch. It’s one of my all time favorite consoles (I’m 19 lol). Everything besides the lack of power and stickdrift is efficient. And honestly, I don’t really see the need in a whole new console. I feel like there’s more to show for the switch. I just wish they’d just make a “Switch pro” addressing these issues and I’d be beyond happy.
Plus Nintendo (as far as I know) doesn’t really release there games in any ports heck they don’t even add the soundtracks to music apps so they really don’t need to worry because if someone wants to play their games (without roms and piracy) they need a Nintendo console

Here’s my opinion on the Switch models and their specifications. The regular 2017 Switch is fine with 4GB RAM and a Nvidia Tegra X1 CPU, but the Lite should have 3GB RAM, and the 2019 Switch should have 6GB RAM and a slightly faster 2.5GHz CPU, and the OLED Switch should have 8GB of RAM, and a CPU similar to a Core i3.
I think it’s fair to say they’re taking some additional time to make their next console a lot stronger because the switch very clearly is lagging behind. (Just look at MK1 on switch for a second and you’ll see what I mean…)

Because they don't know what to do in this decade. A gimmicky portable console worked in 2017 but it won't work this decade. The future is digital stores and cloud streaming. Well, I was a Nintendo fan, until Switch came to the market. Sincerelly idk how people like it. That weird odd joysticks, no cross on controller, and the first no retrocompatible console of Nintendo since the GameCube.
Nintendo is doing great, focusing on doing their own thing. It’d just be nice if they were more powerful for better third party support. Sonic Frontiers struggles on XBox One and PS5 (and high end PC). It has lower graphics and only 30 FPS on Switch. Pop in is bad even on the newest consoles. Just saying.

Instead of getting mad at emulators, Nintendo should make their own supported emulator that allows games to be played on high end graphics with pcs. If they’re concerned about money just make it a subscription service or something

Either that or Nintendo has been keeping it very, very tightly under wraps, if I'm correct, the Switch wasn't announced until less than a year before launch.
Right and then everybody does not want to buy another system because you have like I said robot people who would like to buy all these game systems and don’t give a chance for everybody else to get one. @OkPe-ww5rs if you actually think that people would not buy a more powerful nintendo console if they had the option you are crazy. the consumers dont have a choice but because the nintendo switch has more exclusives than the ps5 and the xbox series x it makes up for the weak hardware but that doesnt mean people dont want a better console from nintendo. stop making excuses for nintendo
@OkPe-ww5rs what does the n64 and gamecube have to do with the year that we are living in now which is 2023. there is no excuse for nintendo putting out crappy hardware when they have money to make better quality hardware. but i already know that they dont want to compete with sony and microsoft thats why your getting cheap hardware and overpriced switch games

Well, I was a Nintendo fan, until Switch came to the market. Sincerelly idk how people like it. That weird odd joysticks, no cross on controller, and the first no retrocompatible console of Nintendo since the GameCube.

Historically, Nintendo has 5 tears between their home consoles, not 6. In fact, the Wii U was even shorter, for obvious reasons.
Nintendo is doing great, focusing on doing their own thing. It’d just be nice if they were more powerful for better third party support.
Sonic Frontiers struggles on XBox One and PS5 (and high end PC). It has lower graphics and only 30 FPS on Switch. Pop in is bad even on the newest consoles. Just saying.
