    Hey everyone! Thanks for the amazing comments on this video! I love it!! Just FYI, I know I messed up and used the screenshot of Ghostbusters 2 instead of using the one from 2016. Also, I misused penultimate - should have said ultimate. Whoops! Just know I'm aware, but I can't fix the issues - whomp whomp :(

      This was a brilliant video Absolutely brilliant ! It’s not happened over night either it’s been coming for a long time the government agenda. They also laughed at women and women didn’t see it whilst putting men down. They made a man women of the year two years running but women clapped and rejoiced because they where brainwashed by emotions leading up to the kartrashian guy accepting the award. It was that bad that Instagram on the day would block anyone posting anything bad or negative about the award who says that we are not being controlled by government /media. Then I’d was the girls wanting to be in the boy brigade even though they have brownies hmm then it was women wanting to be involved with football(soccer) awards ceremony night. Which meant that men where not able to be men on a lads night out. Sit there a shut up no jokes about women or anything. So in essence men couldn’t do what the do best which is have banter. Now you have women as referees etc doesn’t anyone get it that when women get together and men get together they talk about different things. Once you bring a woman into a mans domain ie lads night out the conversation changes and men can’t be themselves which impacts the woman as then she feels awful. It’s not a battle of the sexes. Now it’s been ramped up by gender equality which won’t produce the same outcomes plus it won’t produce the same amount of women and men in jobs or what ever gender they have come up with now. Ok if a woman does the same job that’s fair she gets equal pay but to say it a blanket thing is bad. Science and nature proves the process of men and women.

    • @smokexsmoke99
      @smokexsmoke99 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The word woke is basically shorthand for most sides of the internet culture war, disambiguated from its original meaning as African American vernacular generally meaning to be politically active and particularly attentive to racial injustice. Now it's mostly used as a broad pejorative.
      It's slang encapsulating any number of issues in a culture war, but ultimately meaning the same thing no matter how it's used. When somebody says something is woke, chances are they mean that because something is promoting acceptance, it's bad.
      If something features a strong female lead, it might be called woke for trying to appeal to a feminine audience.
      We've seen plenty of examples of internet hatred lobbed franchises like Star Wars where Rey was decried as an unrealistic Mary Sue because she could fight. Other franchises to cry woke include Captain Marvel.
      These franchises have a number of things in common besides making nerds mad. But most importantly they all featured strong women who could fight well before any even thought of the word Culture War.
      So why are they being criticized now? Alien featured a strong female lead with short hair. Aliens featured a masculine woman with a shaved head. To nerds, these are unimpeachable classics. But now short hair or shaved heads designs is seen as bad. It's seen as woke.
      The fine print may vary why people will call these franchises woke ranging from including non-binary characters to the way a particular character's hair is cut or colored.
      But the point is the same, if you're trying to appeal to a broad audience and featuring somebody from a perceived minority group, you're probably woke, and I say perceived minority group because the people who most often caught complaining about these things are usually straight white men.
      It's no surprise that straight white men have seen a lot of themselves in media from us Gen X and Millennials in online spaces, they been watching themselves in cartoons and movies since they were literal children and sure, there have been female characters and people of color occasionally, but rarely they were the center of attention.
      So is it nostalgia or the feeling of being threatened that the things you grew up with and help define you might not solely belong to you that drives them.
      There's a lot to be said about the drug of nostalgia and how it's often the basis of woke arguments. Many people come to these franchises bringing a lifetime of love and nostalgia, but also a very specific notion of what the franchises is and more importantly what it should be, and when the franchise doesn't align with those
      preconceived notions exactly, it doesn't get blamed on lackluster creator and the never-ending churn of Hollywood just regurgitating IP or just personal preference.
      Instead, the product now lacking because it went woke, so it went broke. And the here's the problem with just calling things woke, it displays a terrible lack of media literacy. See someone write something off as woke is the critical equivalent of seeing a child in a store screaming and throwing a fit even when their parents is trying to calmly and rationally reason with them, they can't be reasoned with, partially because they don't want to be also because they don't the ability to.
      So it is with critics who simply call something woke and label it bad because it might have women or there's a new purple MM. You're not actually engaging with criticism; you're just lashing out rationally.

      A huge problem is that americans think this is a real left, that being a leftist equals woke culture (and it's spreading to other countries). But it doesn't. A left, a real left, is supposed to protect workers from exploitation and enforce workers' unions, give veterans a subsidy, give people a job, impose more taxes on rich people so that poor people don't have to pay more, fight for public healthcare etc.

    • @TheRisky9
      @TheRisky9 3 ปีที่แล้ว +67

      You're also meant to relate and empathize with Katniss, but the books make no attempt to gould you into thinking she's the best at everything or too good for everyone else. She very much isn't! And much of her weakness is criticized and called out by the other characters.
      There is a reason why the plan to escape in the second book was hidden from her. And why she wasn't allowed to rescue Peta and why she wasn't really in charge of anything. Because while her passion and desires are noble, she also lacked the experience and maturity to channel thay passion effectively. She is, after all, just a kid. And to expect she could effectively lead other soldiers into battle or carry out complex plans with high stakes was a rediculous notion and I'm glad the author didn't go for that.
      In other words, Katniss was allowed to be a human being and behave in ways that were appropriate to her character based on her age and the book's themes. She was allowed to make mistakes. She allowed not to be liked by other people. She was allowed not to be trusted. She wasn't there just to be a strong character for its own sake, but to tell a particular story with a specific message about image, media propaganda, and hero worship.

Unemployed for 18 months, going to my job provider (all women staff), then going to social security (again all women staff except the security guard), then going shopping ( at least a 80% female employment rate). It's like this everywhere I go now. Companies are falling over themselves trying to prove how "equal" they are by employing females (even in male dominated disciplines) purely on their gender. Fueled by extreme left wing media propaganda hosted by feminist management and reporters. Bonus points for employing female migrants. Time for me to identify as a female and put some apples under my t-shirt.

Some women have these character traits and it makes them wonderful caretakers of others, which we also need in society. To be honest i think they are written exactly as what they think strength is : Entitled, narcissistic, being born in to privilege, not having to train to get anywhere and everything being handed to you, thinking you're better and good at everything you do and everyone telling you how great you are, thinking they are morally superior, and bitter and resentful when others dont act the way they want.
      It's basically a Hollywood rich kid who writes themselves in to a role thinking they are amazing.

She never tried to do something without them, rather she was sure they needed to work as a team, and she was next to them, not below, not above. Even after the other two would always recognize they couldn't do it without her, she used her intelligence to compliment Harry's and even Ron's personal skills. There were certain aspects of Hermione that I didn't like, but they had nothing to do with her being female. She was often dismissively arrogant, especially toward Ron, and treated people less intelligent than her as either someone to be pitied or dismissed. But see, those are personal traits that I dislike in men as well. And despite this, there was no denying that she commanded respect for how she developed herself and worked with those around her. Sort of like an arrogant quarterback who thinks they ARE the team (something I hate) but nevertheless works with the team such that all members succeed (something I admire). Hermione personifies what I'd see as the ideal feminist: don't tell her she CAN'T do it, but also know that she is as prone as anyone else to being less than perfect. What we've gotten with woke culture however, is that nothing is perfect UNTIL it involves a woman.

      Humanity is Young af, i'd say thats the problem.
      I mean, we do still have entire Political Parties who could just be dubbed 'THE Anti-LGBT Groups'
      so maybe going far-beyond-normal in trying to push-Representation-and-other-stuff
      is kinda to be expected?
      In Popculture at least, i oppose Wokeness - the Sludgehammer-Diversity.
      I always explain it real-simple: Diversity is good and LGBT is good,
      so Owl House is just good Representation. Great even.
      Current Star Trek, Star Wars and Owl House meanwhile; guess what;
      are 'Wokeness'.
      Not everyone gets this,
      a lot of people think nothing is woke, a lot think everything lgbt-representing is woke,
      both is objectively wrong.
      It aint your fault though (i guess) as the Word is not-clear-defined and BIG.
      So yeah, the Woke are clearly overreacting in some Cases,
      at least if you ignore that LGBT is still the unfairly-opressed thing that the most-infantile
      Groups on our Plan hate-with-a-damn-hot-Passion.
      But we also cant ignore the obvious fact that the Right mainly oppose Wokeness
      and mainly associate it with the Left,
      is just them being infantile once again. Its just them being really, really infantile.
      Even those that arent infantile little phobic's are totally seeing this as a 'LEFT ISSUE FROM THE EVIL LEFTTTT!!'.
      Many Left are not aware that Wokeness (in one defintion of the word) literally
      kills Franchises, even if we dont count-in 'Diversity-Hires' and 'Checkbox-Hires'
      as part of Wokeness. And many Right dont seem to know how opressed LGBT

      There's also the unintended consequence that the real message little girls get is that if they are not perfect at birth, then they are failures. Do you feel unsure of yourself or fear; then that's not a normal human experience there's something wrong with you. You tried something and didn't ace it, then their's either something wrong with you OR the game is rigged. And if the game is rigged you work to get the rules changed because the only reason for your failure MOST be that the system is against you.
      That message, that you are secretly great but that the system is against you, is a horrible message. Because the woke focus on the 'you are great' part; but in reality you are not born great. You have to work and earn it. So when people fail (as they must) they blame 'society / the system'. Social change and progress is good, but the real message here becomes you are powerless in the world. All the power lies with society, you have no control of your life; only the 'others' do.
      And that's a horrible way to try to go through life. You can see it it some many woke movements:

    Never seen the new Mulan, but if she has "powers" I will NEVER watch it. The reason Mulan is my favorite Disney movie is that she is a normal village girl who joins the military and quickly becomes known as the runt (Obviously, she has no training, stamina, or muscle mass. She can barely keep up with her chores). It is only after working hard to keep up that she earns the respect and camaraderie of her fellow soldiers. Even then, she's no stronger than them, but she holds her own and asks for help when needed.
    The original Mulan was realistic of a female soldier of today. Strong, but not unrealistically so. Keeps up with everyone else and has respect for her fellow fighters. Doesn't expect special treatment, but asks for help when needed.

      Perhaps the character Moana herself was done well, however, her success during her story telling also required that Maoi, the demi-god that supposedly did so much for humanity and was so amazing at being a demi-god, had to behave like an egotistical self serving misogynist. She literally has to force him to help her save the world, while his plan was to... what, run away to nowhere? I think the beginning of Moana's story was set up pretty well, but like most current Disney/Hollywood stories that have come out lately, establishing the Heroine's worth requires that male counterparts have to either act like douchebags, or get their asses handed to them in 1v1 or 1vMany scenarios. From a realistic standpoint, I'd rather the Heroine motivate change through her actions rather than get into a verbal pissing contest, or worse, physically fight off male characters who solely exist to be a bully that deserves an ass kicking. The latter being the most unrealistic scenario for audience members to accept because 9 times out of 10, women lose to men in physical bouts of strength.
      This is a terrible formula for both young women, and young men. Reason being, it teaches young women that they have to be needlessly aggressive or assertive when dealing with boys/men, rather than reserving that approach only for bullies. But since these stories teach that men NEVER acknowledge women until getting a beat down, well now young women go into the world thinking that they need to prove themselves to every male they run into because obviously, every male has no respect for a woman until it happens. Which means there's no room for women to embrace their femininity because somehow, it's now a weakness when it comes to earning respect.
      As for why it's bad for young men, it's because they no longer have any good male role models in these stories to look up to. Maoi should have been a good role model for boys, but as the movie portrayed, Maoi had NO redeeming qualities. He gave up when things got hard for him at every turn, belittled Moana because she was a girl, and ran away in the end. I don't know why he would have come back after his hook was broken when all throughout the movie, he clearly always meant what he said when he didn't want to risk his neck for humanity. He took an action that was in direct conflict to how the story set his character up, and did something completely out of character for the sake of a last ditch effort to paint him in a good light before the story inevitably gets its happy ending. This is horrible for young boys.

    • @lachellerivera5624
      @lachellerivera5624 3 ปีที่แล้ว +37

      I don't see his character that way. He's an arrogant jerk, yeah but Moana is a force all her own and would likely have treated anyone who tried to runaway the same way. I think it's just that Moana's character finally got through to him in the end. Plus he's a god and when you look through literature of most gods they're arrogant and self serving. The point is they see and experience the world differently not because of gender but because she's human and he's a god. Plus he's the epitome of the saying, "no good deed goes unpunished." He helped out humans before but only did it to benefit himself and in turn caused more problems. The lesson I think is to see how when he finally helps someone for unselfish reasons, things work out for him. Or I could be wrong and it's just the optimist in me wanting to see it that way but that's my opinion.

    • @randomperson8571

      @@SeraphimDragon Hmmm I didn't think about it that way. I'm not saying you're wrong, since they didn't really explain why he came back, so it's up to interpretation. But the way I saw it was, I do think that he did care about humanity--I mean, that was the whole cause of this mess, he took Te Fiti's heart because he wanted to use it to save humanity--time and his failure just made him bitter about it, as well as nobody remembering him. But ultimately I think not only did Moana's desire to save the ocean get him to change his mind, he also remembered that--his original desire to protect and save humanity. So they were united, in the end, by that commonality, Maui just had to think about it a little bit more. Moana is one of my favorite movies (mostly for the emphasis on family and ancestors--I cried at everything about the Grandma) and I think Moana has a rightful place among the Disney Princesses, even if she isn't really one herself xD

If we don't reach our goals and aren't as perfect as the women on screen, then that would mean something is inherently wrong with us. Or maybe we aren't part of the "strong women". The fact that Eowyn and Merry kill the King of the Nazgul is such a mindblowing moment. Anyone with half a brain understands that the dad is obviously worried for a very justifiable reason, like for example a trauma that scarred him for life. And Maui wasn't greedy, he was self-centered at first but then learned that by collaborating he could get out the best of himself while helping Moana to strive towards a larger goal that benefitted him too. Near the end of the movie, he became angry with Moana for, again, a very justifiable reason, because Moana's recklessness had made them risk their own lives. Moana also understood her mistake and listened to Maui, and finally, both got what they wanted, all because they were willing to cooperate with each other.
      Regarding Zootopia, ¿did you even watch the movie? Even if Judy, a prey (who are actually the majority of the population) is the protagonist and suffered from discrimination, Nick and other predators were the minority that suffered most of the discrimination even if they were in a position of power compared to the preys. It's not a story about the discrimination of a minority, is a story about how evil individuals can manipulate gullible people into believing that racism and segregationism are good, also advocating that the way to achieve equality for everybody is not by bringing others down, but by rising each other up. • @BigSleepyOx
      @BigSleepyOx 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@ikeepgettinbanned5525 - Except that "raceless" is often code for "an essentially white character that might just happen to have non-white skin." That is, a character that says and does things that any white character might do, but "just happens to be non-white".
      For example, in the MCU, War Machine is pretty much a "raceless" character that "just happens to be" black, because he's never done or said anything that a white character wouldn't. But Falcon is not a "raceless" black character, because he actually has said and done things that would be more expected of a black character than a white one. Such as telling Tony that he'd have to "go Mark Furman on my ass to get info out of me". Or such as recommending Marvin Gaye's TroubleMan blacksploitation soundtrack album to Cap, and later listening to it at Cap's hospital bedside. Would we want to water down Falcon to not say or do such things, so that he can be "raceless"?
      Getting back to your proposal more generally about making all characters genderless and raceless.
      Well, it depends on the story. Would it have made sense for the lead character in Tootsie to be "genderless" and have both men and women auditioning for the part? And would it have made sense for both men and women to audition for Julia Robert's part in Pretty Woman? Or non-blacks to be auditioning for Richard Roundtree's part in Shaft? Etc, etc. The stories wouldn't make sense (or at least be taken far from the writers' vision) by changing the genders/race of those characters.
      Hell, even something like Beverly Hills Cop, which could indeed have a "raceless" lead character. They first wanted Sylvester Stallone for the lead (and I think he could have done well, given his Demolition Man performance), but when they changed it to Eddie Murphy, they took advantage of his being black which allowed them to do things with the character that they couldn't have done with Sly. Which is to say, I think the movie would've worked with Sly, but it worked differently with Murphy, precisely because they did NOT make the character "raceless".
      A character's demographic characteristics can impact the story (and sometimes is vital to the story, like in Tootsie or Pretty Woman or Shaft), and there's nothing wrong with that.
