One thing to consider for melee duplicate is that it should also double your opportunities to inflict status. So it'll be really strong on weapons that can force slash procs or on warframes with innate status support. It's still not worth 2k plat, but if you can naturally get your hands on it down the line it'll probably be an incredibly potent addition to certain builds.

These types of builds will often only use sacrificial steel and be somewhere around 60-100% crit chance. On these type of builds duplicate is a huge damage boost.
Do you have any tips on how to survive as Kullervo in higher level steel path other than desperately mashing the 2 key? I've been thinking of running Skiajati for invisibility, with some way to open enemies for finishers such as bronco.
@@RashFever26 regular Steel Path imo his 2nd ability is enough most of the time. For levelcaping I would subsume his 4th for Loki's Decoy to aggro Enemies attacks.
@@RashFever26 highly depends on which type of mission youre playing. if its defense or interception, change frame, if its anything else, spam 2, 3 & 1. occasionally 4 for some combo gain or as i like to use 4 as a perimeter alarm, if it starts dmging something, get over there. also make sure your melee does more than 8 mil dmg, then youre good to go.
Voruna mains will likely see the value of Melee Duplicate, given that the buff from her first ability will guarantee that even a 0% crit chance melee weapon will hit yellow crits.
Melee dup is really only useful for people using melee as a back up. Frames/builds like kullervo who want a melee weapon in hands at all times won’t really benefit from the arcane bc they can just use blood rush. But builds where melee weapons aren’t that important and you’re just throwing on one you like, it’ll be great
TL;DR: better on weapons with close to 100% crit chance with high slash or otherwise reliant on DOTs. Worse on weapons with high crit or raw damage weapons like contagion zaws.
Its great if you want a no-frills dps add-on without needing an appropriate tenookai or weird mod. I think its super dumb that people are trying to intentionally reach 100%CC for it. Like, it doesn't lose its effect if you go over 100% CC since your damage is still boosted if you hit yellow crit due to duplicate or orange because it is a higher tier.
If you see some Orange crits, it's because you are not taking into account puncture procs giving up to 25% extra crit chance, which would put you at 125%, I know Gunsen doesn't have much puncture damage, but with such high status chance and double status procs, you are for sure getting some puncture procs in there.
I was trying this last night on steel path survival. With roar but no primer it was doing 15 - 25 million per shot with my stropha. With a primer i saw hits as high as 100 million, but most hits were less. Still, it one shots anything that isn't an eximus unit, no questions asked, including acolytes. My crit rate is 112%, so basic critical on all heavy attacks.

As a Kullervo main and rarely ever use melee weapon outside of Kullervo, Melee Duplicate has almost no value to me.

I use it for okina prime, it makes it feel like you have four arms because you mostly end up hitting yellows

Yellow crit duplicate is stronger than orange crit alone. I think people wanted to force 100% CC or lower just to maximize the overall dps
On gunsen prime i use a rank 9 bloodrush. It gas base 20% CC so 12× combo gets me to 100.18% CC
