Do you mean the button on the door or the button on the key? If it's the key, then you can code the car to fix that most likely. If it's the button on the door, then it looks like a fault somewhere.

Hello, I’ve got a fully spec’d BMW E46 330CI 2002 but the only things it’s missing is electric folding wing mirrors so I wanted to ask can I just buy the electric folding mirror switch and replace it with my one, then will the mirrors fold electrically thank you 😊
Hi Mominas. OK, I'm going to get a little picky here and then I'll answer your question :) If you car is 'fully spec'd' then you'd already have power folding mirrors. You can't say it is fully spec'd and then says 'the only thing missing is'... Do you also have sunroof, heated seats, rear window blind, tyre pressure monitoring, MSport package, Sat-Nav, TV ? Fully spec'd means you have every available option on the car. Also the E46 does not have wing mirrors. Most cars today don't. They're door mirrors :) These are wing mirrors (because they're on the wing).... shorturl.at/mqsIQ Right, sorry bout that :) Having the switch isn't enough. The power folding mirrors have motors in them to allow them to fold on their own. Manual ones, of course, don't have this motor. So you'll need a pair of power folding mirrors (like I got in the video which is why I swapped them), and a power fold mirror switch. Beware with the switch as there are different colours for different spec'd cars. As your's is fully spec'd then you'll need a purple switch instead of a yellow one. Use the link in my video description to contact Nick Jupp and see if he has any power mirrors in stock. He breaks E46's and usually has a good stock of parts.
@@bimmerclubsport I have a 2004 BMW M Sport Compact with non powerfold mirrors. I don't have memory seats, or a sunroof. I know that, I require modules, but my question is this. What loom do, I need to have the powerfold mechanism to work? Would, I direct the elrctrical current via the internal mirror light?
Hello, what is the FA/VO code of FTM/BTM? because I retrofit this power folding mirror module and add $313 using NCS expert, but FTM/BTM module did not shown. Thanks :)
I have no idea :) I didn't have to do all of that as mine was pretty much a case of changing the switch, obviously changing to powerfold mirrors and then making some coding changes so they work when the car is locked and unlocked from the remote. I didn't have to add anything to the vehicle order such as $313.
hi mate, im about to buy power folding mirrors but the back switch was yellow as im looking for brown or phrple switch as i have memory seat and electric mirror like yours so i was wondering can i just buy the folding mirror and look for purple switch or all the mirror is the same just the switch is different? cheers
You can just buy the mirrors. Just make sure the one's you buy have the cable type. Some are ribbon cables and some are not. Get the one that looks like your current ones. Powerfold mirrors will have more cables on the connector but that's ok. Yellow switch should be ok and if you have the button on there the powerfold's should still work. Don't quote me 100% on that. You can then look for a purple switch later. If you already have a yellow switch, do you not already have power fold mirrors ? Check in the video description here for an explanation of the colours. Hope this helps.
Hi from germany . I have a 318ci coupe. With no folding mirrors . No special Features. Can i buy folding mirrors and the yellow switch ? So when i press the Button that they fold in and out ? Its a 2001 model
I'm not 100% sure with your car, but I know that if it does work, you will need also the control boxes for the mirrors that go in the doors. If you go to the E46 Owners Club UK on Facebook and ask there, you will definitely get help on anything question you have. They can for sure be retrofitted. No doubt. It's a question of getting them a power source if your current mirrors are not electric or heated. Sorry I couldn't be more help than that.
@@daniel2018 ok. I would take one off, check out the cabling on it. Then take a photo of the cables and connectr on your mirror. No, I don't believe mine did. I think some do though. Don't quote me on that though :)
