Thank you! Just did this today. Took about an hour to do. Trick with the key lock, is to remove the lock from the outside first by loosening a bolt hidden under the rubber upper corner trim.

When installing this radio did you run the 5m cable from the boot to the back of the radio ?… ive read some forums saying that the factory radio moduals go bad in the bm54 that can be found in our cars ,e39 and x5s … if you havnt the cable you need is called A0590 5.5m for the eonon

Im about to attempt this. Just wondering does the reverse torx bolt need to be removed/loosened or the window regulator arm wont move/jiggle without it? Asking because i dont have the reverse torx socket

doing exactly this in a couple of weeks. The drop is what worries me but since I had the sports package, it was already lower a bit, I think I won't really notice any difference (maybe 1.5mm like you said, which is not really noticeable). Thanks for the video.

Hi, I have the exact same car to you. Looking to upgrade my lightbulbs. Unfortunately the side lights are out of stock in UK. Have you changed your xenon bulbs? If so, can you please confirm to which ones? Also, have you changed your full beam?

Old video, but may be worth a comment or two... Where is your battery charger? Don't use the alternator to charge a depleted battery. Either a CTEK MXS 5.0 or a Noco Genius 5 is a great investment. I leave my 2001 330xi plugged in to the CTEK when I'm not using the car (months at a time). If your going to put an aftermarket radio in a BMW I would stick to established reputable manufacturers. The Chinese stuff may look good on the surface, but is it really good? The UNI-T UT210E is a great amp clamp to diagnose parasitic draw with a resolution of 1mA.

Just bought a Clubsport, rebuilt from the ground up, It's a total beast, I love it.

Nice job Rusty, is very nice you have no more oil leak, I have lost already 750ml in oil from leaks, not much but is going almost everywhere. I am pleased at least I am not burning oil :)

Hi did you ever figure out what exactly was up with the radio? Also worth mentioning that you should “lock” the latches on the door and boot so the car thinks that they are closed. Just remember to unlock them before shutting the door/boot!

I’m looking at one of these as a “weekend car” the one in question has 150k miles velvet blue 2 owners from new with a full history and stacks of paperwork. Is there any specific things to look out for especially being a first time bmw owner! Love the look and idea of these and can definitely see them appreciating in the near future!

Did you ever have the problem of led side light bulbs staying slightly ON. After the cars turned off and key taken out. And light setting to off? I had this issue i think it's to do with the led bulb using too less wattage compared to filament bulb?

Glad you still have your club sport I still own my 2001 330ci sport I have the xenon’s with lunex 7000k bulbs they are very white but I’m using the blue side light bulbs 5w which have the yellowish tinge to them . I will be upgrading to these leds now . Thanks for the tip.

Why you touching the window ahhhh

Not sure, but in some of the newer BMWs, you must register the new battery with the computer system otherwise it'll keep reading it as defective and not charge it completely. Also read that in some e46 models, the alternator will drain a battery if it's on it's way out.

Cats and cars, the best form of entertainment 👍😁. I recently had a leak on my Merc CLK320. Took ages to find, did all the usual gaskets. Turned out to be a core plug in the middle of the V on the block. Was on the oil gallery and had a small pin hole. Very satisfying to get it sorted.

Just did this on my E46 M3, worked a charm following the instructions in this video. The part about pushing the window regulator up and forwards was the real key to getting actuator out and the new one in, was very easy once you did that.
