My grandmother always made my sister and I a black forest cake on our birthday (same bday but not twins weird I know lol). It was always a highlight when we got something she made but that cake was magnificent. She passed this last December at 95. Thank you for taking me back to those fond memories. 😊

Auch mit dem Schoko-Mousse drin? Die Variante hab ich zwar schon öfter gesehen und auch gegessen, aber ich finde, das Mousse ist fast ein bisschen zu viel. Grüße aus dem Münsterland :)
I personally consider the version with the chocolate mousse inferior. It overpowers the kirsch and the cherries or the whole dish becomes super intense and heavy and often both of these problems happen

Hold on hold on. Ordinary? Nonono. I bake ordinary cake. Plain chocolate bunt cake. Sometimes a butter cake with some berries or something in it. Every once in a while I get kinda fancy and make a drizzle for my cakes - but that's still pretty ordinary. THIS is NOT ordinary, this is quite lovely and it has me considering making a chocolate layer cake with plums from the tree in our backyard as a filling layer and on top as decoration. Keep up the good work, Cacao!
My all time favorite cake! There's a patisserie well known for this cake in Geneva, Switzerland long long time ago. The jelly was in the filling and no dark cherries. This is very close to their version. Great job!

The cake is perfect and complete as it is, adding the crown maybe covers too much of the cherry. But the crown itself is so beautiful too, I’m looking forward to seeing it in other videos!

Chocolate Cacao, your Black Forest cake is not ordinary in the least! It is gorgeous and looks delicious! The cherries in the cage cake is even more gorgeous! Now if only I could bake like you.... :)
The only thing I’d change about a Black Forest cake if I made one, is that I’d purée the cherries, or just turn it into a jello like substance. I’m not a fan of whole pieces of fruit in a cake, or even a pie, so I’d probably turn it into a jelly or purée that would work much better in terms of texture, at least for me. Or I can just do what Cacao did and turn the syrup into jelly.
I personally don't mind that part of it. What I'd definitely change up is the chocolate filling, would prefer it if it didn't use gelatin just so the cake is vegetarian. Can't use agar as the temperature that needs is a bit too high, so probably just a thicker chocolate cream.
The cherries are very soft and it adds to the cake if there is a little chew to it - you already have very soft elements to this cake: the sponge, the heavy cream, the chocolate mousse. Puréed cherries would give it a mouthfeel like mushy baby food - not nice.
@@photonicpizza1466 You don't have to add the chocolate mousse at all, many bakeries in Germany don't sell that cake with choco mousse but only with several layers of whipped cream with cherries or chocolate shavings.
Never expected Japan to have a regional brand of Kirschwasser. This liquor seems to be so specific I expected you to simply use an imported brand. Oh and if you love those rich german cakes you should definitely research "Frankfurter Kranz" - a very rich cake for special occasions.
Thank you form uploading and thank you for your honesty-that all your hard work and extra care and finesse made not much difference to the over all experience, I really do think that some things can't be improved on, however, I have eaten some really unpleasant (dry, not very chocolatey, tart fruit, overly sweet etc etc etc) BFG in my time - note that I still ate them ;0) This one looks like it would be utterly delicious tho-lovely to watch as usual! I bet your kitchen smells like chocolate all the time.
I just love this channel and have tried quite a few of the recipes. All have turned out really well. Black Forest Gateau is my go to cake for celebrations and I’ll enjoy making this version. Thanks for all the great info.

As a German that’s eaten and made a lot of Schwarzwälder Kirsch cake I very much approve. It looks great and delicious.
The only thing I would criticize is that a Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte should be four times as big ;-)

@@cho__co4879 たしか4月とかはケーキ屋さんに売ってますよ!フォレノワールではなくキルシュトルテという名前で売られていることもあります。ただ、店によってはただのチョコケーキじゃん…みたいなこともあるので、本当に美味しいケーキ屋さんか、ドイツ菓子専門店で買った方がいいです!
