GRRM has said dragons are usually very resistant to fire so they mostly attack each other with their claws and tails, but if a dragon is younger it isn’t as resistant as an older one, therefore Sunfyre was much more vulnerable to the dragon fire. That’s also why it doesn’t seem like Vhaegar and Meleys are doing much damage to each other with dragon fire, since they are both much older than Sunfyre.
Vhagar is the oldest dragon alive (as they say), She was once ridden by Aegon the Conqueror's sister-wife, Visenya Targaryen. She's one of the OG three, Other two being Balerion and Meraxes (we saw their skulls). Vhagar was also ridden by Daemon's father and later by his ex-wife. Meleys was the Dragon of Daemon's mother, before she was claimed by Rhaenys. Meleys was the fastest dragon in the world too.

Shout-out to Sam for seeing the vision on Aemond 💚💚 This one of the React Packs top rank reactions.
I don't even think it was necessarily that. Objectively speaking, she knows she has a duty to do as much as she can with Maelys. Aegon needed to be stopped, plus she couldn't know Aemond would be there. I think in her mind, she knew Aemond would be next in line after Aegon and she could not let that stand. So she did as much as she could to try and stop both. Honestly if I was in her position I would have done the same thing. RIP Rhaenys ❤😢
Aegon = Anakin Skywalker... As a child not destined for greatness, linked with a prophecy, not trained properly for the upcoming tasks, makes horrible mistakes, is kept on a short leash, then snaps and doesn't overcome his arrogance to now hang on a thread between life and death. Amazing writing without actually copying anything.
No offense, but that is truly the dumbest comparison I've seen in my entire life. If it were satire it would be funny, but you actually seem to be serious.
To everyone who dogs on Daemon he was the only one who proposed a solid plan to avoid the death of all these dragons, back on episode 1 when he offered Rhaenys and Meleys to join him and Caraxes in taking out Vhagar. That was the only possible plan to kill this dragon, their biggest two vs her. You reap what you sow I guess, while everyone was being cautious and warming up to the inevitable war Daemon was ready to go. Also Vhagar is so big she probably doesnt fit in the dragon pit so she either is flying Aemond on patrols or sleeping outside the walls of Kings Landing. Somewhat "easy" target if you want to avoid the scorpions. RIP Meleys and Rhaenys. Sunfyre will have his revenge in due time. 😉
Reason why she keep turning around was because people always told her she could had ended all of them but she let them live back when she escape. She didn't wanted to walk away anymore.
People didn’t marry out of love during the Middle Ages. It was out of business or necessity. They may fall in love naturally after being together for so long but it’s not why they got together. Also Rhaenys wanted to die a warriors death, she already knew about Corlys affair, I don’t think she cared
Agreed, generally Rhaenys was kind of useless. It would have been a better help to the Black's if she just killed herself off in some cave. And not take "The Red Queen" with her.
I don't know who expects to know if reactors like a show or not. The best method is to see if a reactor channel has ever stopped watching a show and said it was because they didn't like it. Those channels are very rare, I've almost never seen a reactor say they don't like a show. It's a business, they make money by liking things. Just like other business in other areas, making an integrity decision, like being honest when you don't like a show, usually only costs you money. There is no benefit. I don't think I've ever seen The React Pack have a negative opinion of a show, so I can never be sure anything they seem to enjoy is genuine. But I like the fantasy of thinking they enjoy the shows I enjoy.
He's very obviously reaching for his scabbard and about to sheathe his sword though, which he does as he completes the motion after he sees Cole. It's meant as an ambiguous shot, but at that point Aemond has already achieved what he wanted, he knows he's going to be regent at that point anyway. Like Daemon he still has some love for his brother deep down, although not nearly as much.

Remember the show runners are extremely team black . They haven't any thing bad rhaenyra has done in the books , since season 1 they just completely ommit those moments. and they add bad scenes for the greens. Rhaenys KILLED hundres of innocents when she did her appareance in aegons crown . Literally humble people of kings landing that were innocent. But the show ignores this unlike the book that does remembers this , rhaenys was a killer of innocents. But in the show she is a hero. the showrunners show too much they are extermely team black again
Rhaenys had no choice. If you had no other option to survive than to kill 100 people, would you do it? You might tell yourself that you'd just let yourself die instead, but when push comes to shove you wouldn't. That's why it's not made any further deal of, unlike what a bunch of ignorant idiots keep harping on and on about. I do agree that the Blacks are being made out to be more of the "good guys", which definitely shouldn't be the case, but using that example with Rhaenys over and over again is just braindead.
They even added the rape and fighting pit part to paint Aegon as evil. Condal might as well just have team black clean sweep the greens in 5 minutes and end this farce of multifaceted story. ‘Choose a side’ mf HOW?! How can I effectively choose a side when you go out of your way to paint one as team evil of eviltown? The audience has been robbed of all choice and nuance.
Rhaenys escaping through the dragon pit was dumb and made no sense but it wasn’t in the book at all, it was a show addition so I’m not sure what you mean by the book remembers. Although I’m sure every dragon rider probably ends up killing a lot of innocents by the end of the war.
Rhaenys Velaryon - The butcher of King's Landing, crushed by the very dragon she used to crush hundreds of innocent men, women, and children in the dragon pit without the slightest hint of remorse - poetic justice.

He did almost nothing to prepare Rhaenyra to rule and did nothing to ensure both sides of the family stayed united and loyal. Viserys is as much to blame for the mess that is Aegon as much as Alicent.
@@andilezulu292 yeah but Viserys isn't here anymore, Alicent is
and in this scene Aegon was humble and honest, he asked Alicent for advice
and instead of being constructive she tossed him aside
that was a huge mistake and very dumb
@@davidnobre5660 Why can't Aegon take responsibility for his actions? I don't disagree that Alicent is not a great mother but Aegon is old enough to control his impulses and manage his insecurity. Like i get he craves love and validation but you're treating him like a child - dude made a tragic and bad choice.
I'm just sick of this fandom using Alicent as a scape goat for every bad thing that happens or every whack decision someone makes. Would you blame Viserys for when Daemon took dragonstone and stole and egg because his brother shouted at him?
@@andilezulu292 what actions? I'm talking about what Alicent did, not blaming Alicent for something Aegon did
Meleys and Vhagar use to belong to Deamond and Vicerys parents and they used to fly together all the time 😢
No one in this series is alive in the time of the Mad King.
...the foreshadowing of Aegon pushing the Golden Flagon with the Dragon handle to the ground to be smashed....
22:39 sisters moment lmao
People do be dramatic it irks me alot, but it's good for you guys you kinda have passionate fans
You guys are amazing. You post HOTD reactions asap/less than one week after it first aired while other popular, greedy reactors still haven't uploaded their YT version reactions yet and hiding it behind their patreons
I’m happy that y’all enjoyed your family trip, Sam and Dani. The reaction might be a bit late, but it it’s well worth the wait. We the appreciate all powering through all the technical difficulties to give it to us.
I really love that my guy Aemond is pulling such a strong, passionate reactions from y’all, particularly Morgan. Aemond better be careful, she might put a price on his head😅😅😅. This Dance of the Dragons is a tragedy more than anything, very Greek like in that regard. Also Vhagar and Meleys are both lady dragons. Shout-out to Sam for seeing the vision on Aemond 💚💚 This one of the React Packs top rank reactions.
Idk why Morgan and Sam think that Meleys and Vhagar are male, despite the show constantly telling us they're female.
Well it doesn’t matter what gender Meleys is now anyway
It’s a lil mistake people tend to make. Nobody really cares tho
@@daryeusford9696 I care. It's annoying.
@@derikk3215 it’s not that serious. They’re not real at the end of the day🤷♂️
She couldn't turn around because she knew if she retreated she would lose faith from her allies.
@@thisisgoodfruit1618 Exactly this. She didn't leave because she needed to do everything she should to defend Rooks Rest. Even if it meant dying.
Aegon = Anakin Skywalker...
@@hoon_solWell Aegon has the most important role in this story, if you have read the book...👀
@@TheDream6842:
I have read the book, and I know the story exactly; hence why I called the comparison so profoundly stupid, because it is.
- Her dragon’s name is Meleys (May-leez)
- And Rhaenyra’s father is not the mad kind, that is Daenerys’ father.
Vagher and Meleys are both female dragons.
I appreciate your commitment to recording this reaction and all of your sacrifices to get us the content we crave! RIP to Dani's tire lol
Girls idk whats so confusing but Rhaenys had to keep fighting. Thats just her only option
Another win for Ser Criston. What a legend! Go Team Green
💚💚💚 🤣
Reason why she keep turning around was because people always told her she could had ended all of them but she let them live back when she escape. She didn't wanted to walk away anymore.
19:40 she said Aemond there, not Aegon
33:34 Aemond did say in season 1, that if they couldn't find Aegon, he intended to be found. He definitely wants to be king.
She said you know what Aemond is, not Aegon…… lmao. Praising her being a horrible mother, classic.
Edit: 21:01 Whines for some faceless rando but celebrates any Green death 😂 crying over a spoiled princess while peasant men burn too.
Aemond got revenge for all the innocent smallfolk she killed back in season 1, that she was never held accountable for
Lmao, Aemond doesn't give a fuck about the smallfolk, cope harder
Aemond, the people's champion.
Fun facts: meleys used to be daemon’s mother’s dragon and vhagar was his father’s dragon, daemon tried to bind with meleys before rheanys did but she refused him so he ended up with caraxes
Daenerys' father's name is Aerys commonly known as The Mad King
16:32 He was the young kid who fought the older Bracken guy and won last season.
19:40 she said Aemond there, not Aegon
30:13 that's Daemon's dragon, hers is called Meleyse
30:33 Vhagar and Meleyse are she dragons btw
Rhaenys couldn't have run away because she was there to defend Rook's Rest for their side. If she'd fled it would've shown that Rhaenyra's side were cowards who abandoned their vassals.
Dragon’s name is meleys not carracsis😒
Corporate needs you to find the difference between these two pictures
"Daemon after one night in Harrenhall" | "This audience when React Pack misses an upload"
Dragons being in-universe metaphors for nuclear weapons really comes out to play during those last scenes.. eerily similar to witness testimonies from Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Would be an interesting arc for Cole if he actually has to reckon with the madness of it all.
(spoiler) Daenerys lineage is from Rhaenyras' Aegon IV, not Alicent's Aegon we see in the show.
Rhaenyra’s son Aegon yes, but also Alicents son Aegon’s daughter Jahaera, the kid that was spared.
@@dariontargaryen Negative. That's Aegon III that has children with Jaehaera. Rhaenyra's son Viserys weds Larra Rogare and their children Aegon IV and Naerys have direct lineage to Daenerys.
In fact, Alicent's line ends with her great grandchildren Daeron, Baelor, Daena Rhaena and Elaena (children of Aegon III).
Vhagar is SHE not he
Aemond is deliciously evil.
Rhaenys is eternal. Valhalla!!!!
Everyone confused why Rhaenys turned around and fought like she doesn’t have the highest kill count in the show and is described as a warrior she knew she could of ended the war right there if she took about Aemond and she already spared them before so she felt guilty
The scene where aegon see's sunfire is the most genuine scene ive seen aegon happy.. His so tragic he just wants to prove himselfe for the role that he didn't want in the first place hes awful but most of the characters in this show are.
Seeing Sunfyre and seeing his son playing in the Small Council were the only times that I've seen him genuinely happy so far.
Dani looks so nice without glasses! 😍14:15
Dani always looks nice
@@Sleepingcoffee979 I agree.
Meleys and Vhagar are 🎀GIRL Dragons🎀
4:08 the war couldnt have ended there. Two murdered children, declarations of war, armies in play... good luck stopping it now
Harrenhal was burned by aegon I during his conquest. Hopefully we will eventually get to watch this unless the conquest show gets cancelled
"She just sacrificed the brackens like that" the brackens have nothing to do with this battle. The blacks have meleys, rhaenys and the defensive forces of the castle. The greens have aemond and vhagar, aegon and sunfyre, the targaryen army and the forces of houses rosby, stokesworth and darklyn
Rhaenys' dragon is meleys not caraxes
"What is he doing?!" Finishing what he started. Aemond stayed behind hoping aegon would die, he burned him attempting to kill him. Aemond tried to murder the king for the way aegon treated him his entire life and for how much aegon would detrement the war effort
Girls, it just means everyone luvs you and missed you when you were not there. Very popular girls well done
I do agree Aemond took the dragon from baela but a small insight rhaenys stole her dragon also so kinda fair play lol
Seeing the dragons fight really do be sad :(
Btw Vaghar is actually a big ol grandma
we’re back 🤟🏽
man, watching you go crazy in this episode was something
that one piece t shirt is fire though !!!!!
fyi meleys is a she dragon, shes called the red queen and the fastest dragon at the time
You can’t steal a dragon !!! Vhagar chose Aemond.
Yall give me power puff girls vibe 😂😂
maybe do a podcast book club of all the game of thrones books, or a live podcast book club on twitch or something
Daenerys is direct descended of Daemon and Rhaenyra… She’s there great great great great great great granddaughter
Both of the dragons fighting in the end are actually girls haha (Maelys and Vhagar
If Almond Targaryan is bad why is he so cool
Have a good night.
It gets confusing but Maelys (girl) was the dragon of Rhaenys and Caraxes is Daemon's dragon
Daenerys is a descendant of Rhaenyra
14:44 Daemond
it is daemon wearing fhe eyepatch and hairstyle
Vhagar is a she-dragon.
Dumb move by team black sending Melys with no backup dragon and no backup plan if Vhagar showed up.
YEEHAW!
Vhagar is a she-dragon
I was so excited to see dragon vs dragon combat… and then I saw it 😢. That was rough to watch.
meleys and reanys coudtn run cause than other castle lords would see that she abondened them and they woudnt help them anymore and turn to the greens she had no other choice than too fight
Cole's baby? 😰
No, give me the tea 😂😂😂😂😂
I'd fight for aegon.a man of the people.
Queen hides
Vhagar and meleys are female dragons while sunfyre is male dragon
Sunfyre was just playing thinking he was going for a fun ride with his drunk rider i knew he was fucked after Aegon start the fight with fire to blind them both lol i fell bad for the dragon😞
Dragon blood is very hot, not acidic.
😍Dani🥰
she should have listened to Daemon episode one
RIP The Red Queen Rhaenys and her dragon Maelys 😭
Should have listened to Daemon from the jump🙄
Remember the show runners are extremely team black . They haven't any thing bad rhaenyra has done in the books , since season 1 they just completely ommit those moments. and they add bad scenes for the greens. Rhaenys KILLED hundres of innocents when she did her appareance in aegons crown . Literally humble people of kings landing that were innocent. But the show ignores this unlike the book that does remembers this , rhaenys was a killer of innocents. But in the show she is a hero. the showrunners show too much they are extermely team black again
I agree
@@mahirabrar9110 I feell ya, and with even all that. I still like the Greens more.
Rhaenys is worse than aegon II by a lot. Aemond and aegon avenged the small folk !
I do find it funny how no one brings this up with Rhaenys 😅😅
Episode 9 ruined rhaenys
31:26 😢
They were both ‘she’s
