This gun is so underrated. It's basically a Famas with better damage, faster aimspeed, no damage drop-off, better cover penetration and bigger extended mags. The only downsides are the slower reload, swaptimes and movement speed. It just s h r e d s .
the stoner is a hidden gem in game. high rate of fire, good damage, no range penalty, able to have 60 rounds in the mag, and it handles like an assault rifle. in fact if you break it down by the stats, the stoner out classes the famas and aug! im surprised many people dont use it
The FAMAS and AUG have better handling traits, and the Stoner can't be suppressed. It also has worse hipfire accuracy. Also, unlike the other LMGs, the Stoner doesn't penetrate cover as well; it has the same penetration characteristics as an assault rifle.
This was my favourite weapon/loadout in blackops, watching this over a decade later and it really brings back the memories. Also lol, could hear the grin in the ending tagline.
When I first saw the stoner 63 in Cold War and look back on the black ops design I was flabbergasted on why they look so different but doing some research and this video clears my mind. If you didn’t know the bo1 version uses the rifle 63A design while Cold War uses the 63A LMG version

No question about it - The Stoner 63 is my absolute favorite primary weapon in Black Ops. The best weapon in the game as far as I'm concerned, however I'm biased towards LMGs to a fault. The stoner is one of COD's best kept secrets. It beats the famas up close because of its aim speed, a feat not many guns can accomplish. And at the end of the day, its an lmg, so your not exactly losing at a distance either. also, a very fun weapon to use :).

I agree. It's the best LMG in the game. and when you are dead accurate with it it takes like just 2-3 bullets. Why i like it is the ADS speed is good and it's good at close-medium-long range. Like XboyAhoy said the downside is the reload time. Everything he said is true
stoner was my go-to whenever i wasn't using g-11, fine gun, did great work on dense maps and it's quickness was great enough that every time i didn't kill someone i knew it was my fault.
Gotta say this is one of my favorite weapons in BOPs. It's offensive and defensive abilities make it great for holding ground or pushing to a new space. Stu, for one of my classes I have been reading Csikszentmihalyi's (big name I know) study of creativity and the idea of flow. Have you ever read or heard of this? I think that it is a big reason why people find games so endlessly fun in the amount of flow that can be produced.

saathsworld I think these are usually based around the overall skill of the player. Me I could never consistently utilize dogs or choppers, so I’d always go for the Spy Plane, C. Spy Plan, and care package

Stu. Heres a concept that I think might take off: class guides of call of duty. For each episode, you do a different class concept. For example: running, or scout classes, stealth type classes, sniping classes.

well, while mostly true, there are slight differences, I've been called out for calling the 7.62mm cartridge a .30 caliber round. Slight differences, better to just stick with 5.56x45 since the .223 is normally used with civilian use. The differences are chamber size, (that which holds the powder) and pressure amounts. The 5.56, a military round, generates more pressure than the civilian .223 variant
This is the exact same setup as my stoner. Wall bangs FER DAYS. A good strategy to use is when you're in a building about to leave, peek a corner and look for an enemy. Pop back behind the corner, spray through wall, piss them off. They won't expect it especially if they see you in the door way.
For some reason I liked this better than most of the assault rifles in this game, and used it as one. Also liked that “stoner” was in the name cause it was highschool and I had gotten into smoking weed all the time lol

I'll say, the stoner63 is the most powerful weapon aside from long-range weapons. It's kill-time at any distance is so unbelievably fast, it's pretty much just a dumb down death machine.
i prefer pairing red dot anf ext mags because red dot reduces the effect of the stoners muzzle flash. people never used this because of it's rapid recoil but it's fire rate and damage make it that whatever you target within reasonable range regardless of recoil is dead and it is lethal at holding down choke points.
I have honestly never given this gun a shot in Blackops, but the high fire rate, high damage, sexy noise of the gun makes me really wanna go use it. Anybody else agree.
EASILY one of the best (non OP) guns in the game, I LOVE the thing, the fire rate, damage and AR traits are great, but the best thing about (IMHO) is the firing sound, it sounds like you're using an auto cannon and feel quite powerful, should have been an AR, but my guess was placed in the LMG category due to how many ARs there already are, but sadly after some incredible bullshit, I'll probably not play the original Black Ops for some time,
