The prototypes are given to people to field test them to see if they would do well in combat situations. Most of them did, and so they entered mass production, and are still in use today.

I used this class and it actually worked quite well. I am the worst person for using sniper rifles and i got 20 kills in 2 matches. This doesn't sound immense i know. But when you realise in 22 days of playing mw2 and 6 days of playing black ops i've managed about 10 kills ( with stolen weapons) only then you can see the difference. Thankyou XboxAhoy. Finally my friends won't scoff at my dependany on the Galil and Skorpion.
it's got a legendary design. it also has 7 locking lugs connecting the barrel to the bolt. The more locking lugs can help with accuracy and makes the gun safer. For comparison, the Ak 47 has 2.

But when you realise in 22 days of playing mw2 and 6 days of playing black ops i've managed about 10 kills ( with stolen weapons) only then you can see the difference. Thankyou XboxAhoy. Finally my friends won't scoff at my dependany on the Galil and Skorpion.

@Rolfstunner I think he might have got the better of me with his FAMAS, sadly.
it's got a legendary design. it also has 7 locking lugs connecting the barrel to the bolt. The more locking lugs can help with accuracy and makes the gun safer. For comparison, the Ak 47 has 2.

@bozzy446 They aren't made 20 years after, they are put into service about 10 years later. It's just that certain sections of government get to field test them several years before to see if they are fit for combat. They were, so we adopted them into the army.
