That's exactly why I've decided to do this now. You're not alone in the anxiety for upgrading the suspensions on these cars and I want to relieve that for the community.
Love your videos. I’m building a ‘69 Charger and it’s great to have well-made videos to help take away some of the guess work. Getting the car back from paint soon and k-frame and front suspension will be the first order of business.
Thanks for the good vid. It is well done. In the future vids I would add some more lighting. I agree and went with the QA1 uppers, bolting on the lower ball joint piece and all poly bushings/etc for my 72 Chal. as well. Some or the other upper control arms had too many adjustments for failure points as well as more likely simply moving out of adjustment. The most difficult part is replacing the lower control arm bushings if you don't just go with the QA1s. These are well designed front ends for 50 years ago.
When I did my ‘71 Barracuda some ten years ago, I sprayed all of the nuts/bolts with penetrating oil five evenings in a row. I figured all the other nuts/bolts on the car argued about coming apart, I’d make it somewhat easier for D-day (actually Memorial Day weekend). I’m pretty sure that it helped.
Thanks! That is an excellent question and if you provide them the specs you want they should be able to adjust accordingly. I habe some tools that will allow me to get the alignment fairly close here and home, which I will showcase in a future video.
@@rod426 I've heard that from other people. Also considering the UCA add caster and camber, I don't think you would want a shop fighting to pull it back out.
Adjusting the front suspension is very basic and they shouldn't have any difficulties doing so. The camber/caster adjustments are handled on the upper control arms and the tow is adjusted with the tie rod adjusting sleeve. Where you need to be careful is on the alignment specs you want. If you provide the shop the specs you want there is no reason they can't do it.
My 72 Cuda is in need of the front end being rebuilt. I'm anxious to see how your project turns out! I might want to use these products on my car!

Most shops don't know how to align old school. Be careful and watch/be there while being dine.
