Alls cars run more efficiently ( less polluting) at highway speeds …….. ie 55mph. How about “learning” how to build alternate forms of transportation, like safe trains that are cheap. I used to go to the one in Kansas City, they had great turnout. Then they lost the location, the racetrack didn’t want them to use the grounds. It’s a shame, they had a big turnout.

Leave it genuine. Part of driving and owning a classic car is the whole experience. Putting in a modern engine takes the soul out of the car. Plus like you said how many miles do you put on a classic? I don’t.

Before watching, listening to your video, I know the answers to why California wants to outlaw people driving old cars, There's more taxes the taxpayers have to pony up for new vehicles, they automatically have to pony up money for Emission tests, I'm a former Emission test & repair inspector in the state of Nevada. Approximately 80% of a cars' total pollution volume is created during its manufacture. I've had my daily driver for 24 years. I like it, is comfy, and it does what I want it to do. It's in great shape, though, there's no way I can say it's "cool". I have NOT bought three new cars during that time. That's 80%, 80%, and 80% that I personally did not contribute to new pollution. "Old cars are more polluting." Tell them to get lost. If they REALLY wanted to reduce car made pollution, they would ban the manufacture of cars. Oh, wait... :)

At 78 I'm to old to do what needs doing, but here it is for all you younger lovers of both classic and new cars! FIRST you setup a non-profit, perhaps named "THE CALIFORNIA DRIVERS UNION". SECOND pass a state wide initiative to create a DRIVERS CONGRESS, which will take all transportation laws out of the hands of the idiotic elected fools in Sacramento. THIRD claim all state road, gas, registration and other taxes collected on cars, trucks and other vehicles to be assigned to the control of the Drivers Congress for allocation ONLY to transportation uses and NEVER allowed into the States general fund. The Drivers Congress would consist of electing licensed California drivers to include; the general public, representatives from OEM and after market car equipment manufacturers, auto garage owners, and a limited number of so-called academic transportation "experts", but exclude any current or former State elected "official" with term limits applied to all members. The Divers Congress will control all rules affecting vehicles in California except where federal laws supersede them. This would include regulation of traffic laws, smog controls, electric vehicle or other like "mandates", control of the Highway Patrol, the DMV, and complete oversight of Statewide and local policing authority's implementation of transportation rules and laws. Any prior existing State or local agency ( such as CARB ) would have ONLY advisory roles to the Drivers Congress and no official ability to create or enforce their own regulations. Then we the drivers will finally have control of our own lives and reason can prevail. IT'S UP TO US GUYS - GET IT DONE!

I ended up selling my '88 GTA Firebird because I gave up trying to make it pass a smog test. I still have an '88 Corvette that won't pass smog testing. It sits in my garage just collecting dust. I tried throwing parts (money) at it but it still won't pass. I gave up. I would move out of Commiefornia but both of my sons and their families have deep roots here.

I used to live in San Diego and its an amazing town but I ended up leaving because of the poor leadership. I know many others who have done the same. It sucks because I love California. But I couldn't see myself ever being free living there under so many rules and regulations and constant attacks by the government.

So my rare 1987 buick GNX #278 of 547 would be banned ? Why ? I bought it years ago with 22k miles and it still has 22k miles . What a bunch of Nazi control freaks .
