Factual correction: This was released in Feb 2008, not in 2009. I got this on sale for $1.00 online. After I had played through Legendary I wanted to see how this game was. I never ran into the strange bugs with characters getting stuck or teleporting. What I do remember was the unique grapple deaths you could inflict on the Nazis. That was the one mechanic the game really got right. Other than that, it was a WWII shooter that was rushed to release on PC and it showed. Regarding the alternate history arc... consider how badly it would have went for the allies if the US did not have access to the British airbases. Germany's ability to manufacture for its war machine was pounded into the stone age by B-17's flying overhead. The United States was able to keep manufacturing new planes, tanks, and munitions with relative impunity. I'm not saying Germany would have conquered the world if they overran the UK, but the war definitely would have went differently. How differently nobody can say, but it's a "good enough" premise to set up the "what if" scenario for the game. I found the game enjoyable despite its obvious flaws, but not particularly memorable. When I played Wolfenstein: The New Order, I realized I was basically playing what Turning Point could have been. Of course, shooting Nazi scum is always better when BJ Blazkowicz is behind the trigger!

You made a very good point about pirating abandonware. If there is no legal way to buy a new copy of the game physical or digital, then sharing files is the only way to preserve the game for people to play in the future.
God. I've bin trying to remember this game for the longest time. You can never really find games that people don't talk about. So thank you. You are doing God's work.
I just played this game on my 360 over last weekend. Aside from the nrmal glitches and bugs, i had two hard crashes that necessitated a system restart and one bug where i unloaded all my ammo on one guy who just refused to take hit damage.
(HELP) Hey guys, i recently got a copy of this game for ps3. But i get stuck at 6:03, the fire isnt extinguished after i pull the lever. Does anyone know a fix? I know the game has many bugs. Could it help to set the game to an older version? If that is possible?
(Found a solution): Ps3 delete the game data in "Game data utility" under "game" tab in the XMB. Also delete any savedata that you might have gotten. Also disable internet connection in the system tab. This way the game wont be updated with the broken patch.
I remember seeing the trailers for this back when it was released. It was the first "alternate history" I've seen and I thought it was a cool concept. After hearing people talk about it I'm glad I never got around to playing it.
Sorry to cold post, but if you find alternate history interesting, check out some of harry turtledove's novels. He has alternate history series about ww1+2 if the confederates won the civil war, if moderately more advanced aliens invaded during the middle of ww2, and if Japan launched a full blown invasion of the west coast
I think the reason the SFX sounds like that is because the gain is too high. I'm not sure how game engines manage that, but if there's a quick fix in an ini file or something that might at least bring it down to passable.
I had bought this game when it was new and genuinely liked it, but I went back and tried to play it around a year ago and it... Stunned me with how it was nothing like my memory of it. The only thing I still liked was the first level escaping the planes attacking your tower.
I thought this was an early near-launch window game for the PS3. Picked it up from Gamestop when I first got my PS3 cuz it was 89 cents, and the description on the back of the box was intriguing. I still have yet to play it some 8 years later
1:07 fucking Checker Marathon, the time-traveling cabbie! Strange how mid 60's Marathons are used for police and taxi's in game when a more period-friendly 51' Ford Custom was used in the CGI trailer for the game.
Hey jarek! I think you should try out Tresspasser, it's a Jurassic Park game ahead of it's time. (Not in a good way) it's my favorite game personally. It's made by Microsoft and the story behind it's creation is pretty interesting. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it's the first game ever? Or at least fps to introduce physics. Like boxes falling and rolling stuff like that. Anyway I just found your videos recently and am watching through them. Keep up the good work. PS. Idk where you could get a copy you'll probably need to download it from, ummm ARRRRRR..
I don't remember buying this game, but I remember it just being there the first time I got a good enough computer to play games with. It's like it materialized from thin air.
This game had an amazing glitch where the shotgun would always glitch and double fire. Also when you would shoot an enemy with a shotgun the enemies would just bob up and nose dive.
Hey Jarek! Have you considered checking out a game called Exodus from the Earth? It’s really bad, and I think it would do well for a stream/analysis video!
We feed on your pain and suffering, Jarek, that's why we like to see you play bad games. Jokes aside, I find more interest in old games I haven't heard about than the newer titles that everyone is playing and talking about.
I don't get mad at games like this. Their so bad their fun, like Rogue Warrior. Save that for the soulless greedy corporate products we usually get now from AAA.
@@Gruntvc I get what you mean but at the same time, I think I'd have more fun playing yet another Ubisoft game than a PAINFULLY mediocre game like Enemy Front or Rogue Warrior (gameplay wise, the swearing and over the top edginess of it gets me cracking every time). @João Gabriel Yule, I cannot agree with you on playing yet another copy paste list of chores Ubisoft sandbox game. But I do get what you're saying. At launch, no way were games like that worth it. But given how cheap they are now, can't say there's much to be angry about now. Most of them don't even exist as game devs now. Legendary was fun. Games you might want to try out: -Devastation Middle of the road FPS that takes place in a dystopian police state. It has a crazy selection of around 20 weapons (micro gatling gun, exploding rats etc). Main character looks like blonde Eminem. -Kreed A real..........blyatiful sci-fi FPS gem from Russia. European games magazines called it in preview articles a potential competitor for Doom 3. Yeah, if Alpha Prime was diet Doom 3, then Kreed is soggy paper mache Doom 3. Play this if you want to hurt yourself (for our pleasure, of course). -Chrome Made by the poles from Techland (known for Dying Light and Dead Island). 9:18 Gman is dead, that is why we do not have HL3 :(
Hahahaha
Eyyy Freeman. You gonna do that thign right, badda bing badda boom, Ashes...
Oh shit.......
That actually looks like him.
Its a shame it can’t even have that cool of weapons
Hey, when do you plan on Streaming next on Twitch? Great Video btw :)
Turning Point was fucking horrendous. And i forced myself to beat the game.
3:21 that was pretty bad ass tho
God. I've bin trying to remember this game for the longest time. You can never really find games that people don't talk about. So thank you. You are doing God's work.
I legit enjoyed this game when I was younger, I didn’t even know there was a PC version. Maybe I’ll “get a copy” and try it on PC
I just played this game on my 360 over last weekend. Aside from the nrmal glitches and bugs, i had two hard crashes that necessitated a system restart and one bug where i unloaded all my ammo on one guy who just refused to take hit damage.
How is the Statue of Liberty destroyed in the first cutscene but appears again at the end?
Only one of the arms. Statue remains intact.
I bought a physical PC copy of this from my local donation store just so it'd cover my incentive. I'm surprised to see this pop up in my recommended.
@@joshmataosky9698 We just wish we have more of those in video games form. At least we have something close like Iron Harvest for example.
I remember being excited for this watching all the previews, trailers and interviews. Haha wow
Honestly I forgot this game existed until I was just reminded of it while looking at a list of every WWII based FPS game ever
Have you ever heard of Rogue Warrior?
Hi man, do you plan to make a video about You Are Empty?
It's only £1 and only 3 hours - I think I am going to play it just to see what New York invaded looks like
TH-cam doing 2x ads before video starts now? Hope the TH-camrs see more profit then.
4:14
So you’re telling me that they added Anti-Aliasing and they DIDN’T PUT IT IN THE OPTIONS!?!?
*THAT DOESN’T EVEN MAKE ANY SENSE*
Hi jarek I hope you see but I was wondering if you ever get the chance I would like to see your opinion on fps called Black
This game had an amazing glitch where the shotgun would always glitch and double fire. Also when you would shoot an enemy with a shotgun the enemies would just bob up and nose dive.
shit never realized there aren't any digital copies i chucked my only copies out the window and into the neighbours house
Why not check out Homefront?
So this is what would happen if City Interactive would make a Wolfenstein on the Q3 engine?
I have fun playing the stuff that somewhat work, like that Legendary game Jarek was talking about.
Had some fun with Turok 2008 too, get the feeling not too many feel that way about tgat one though.
@@Gruntvc Yeah, that's what I meant. And was just giving an example, aside Siege, Ubisoft has rubbed me the wrong way with their latest stuff. Simply not worth the price.
@@Gruntvc Btw I had some fun with Turok. It was kind of nice, specially since it was so cheap. Another series that I enjoyed was Sniper Ghost Warrior from City Interactive. They're know for their budget stuff.
One shot from Zat'nik'tel stuns your target, second shot kills your target, third shot disintegrates your target.
This game feels like the spiritual sequel to Call of Duty Finest Hour
Why does this sound like the name of a Bill O Reilly book?
Games you might want to try out:
-Devastation
Middle of the road FPS that takes place in a dystopian police state. It has a crazy selection of around 20 weapons (micro gatling gun, exploding rats etc). Main character looks like blonde Eminem.
-Kreed
A real..........blyatiful sci-fi FPS gem from Russia. European games magazines called it in preview articles a potential competitor for Doom 3. Yeah, if Alpha Prime was diet Doom 3, then Kreed is soggy paper mache Doom 3. Play this if you want to hurt yourself (for our pleasure, of course).
-Chrome
Made by the poles from Techland (known for Dying Light and Dead Island). Takes many elements from Deus Ex and combines it with wide, open levels. Also John St John voices the main character.
I had this game, never got past the subway, glad to see I didn’t miss anything.
