The PRX chrono and the quartz 40mm gold or mint dial are stunning but I agree the hobnail dial is not as good as ppl say. Compare the powermatic 80 with the patterned dial to a slightly more expensive ml aikon or a CH ward and the difference is night and day in the dials. The best prx models are the chrono, the blue and brown dial 18k gold bezels and the mint and gold quartz in 40mm. I have had all those and I have experienced the regular powermatics and 35s and they just don't look as good. For the regular auto the gentleman is despite the mediocre bracelet a much nicer watch.
I love the citizen, it's so clean and honestly it really is a competitor to the prx. I would love to have them both but since the citizen came out I'd rather have that. That yellow os so dope
I've just ordered the AV-8 dress watch from your website, great price thanks. Keep the great content coming and the great bargains on your site. Top Man.
This pretty much sums it up for me. I also got both, and while the automatic movement in the Tsuyosa is utter crap, I still kept it since I absolutely love the design. For more formal occasions though, I still prefer to wear the PRX.
@@TopTierTicker Could be my specific model though. Accuracy is roughly +40s/day, and also it stops randomly sometimes. I might have to get it serviced! Other than that, I still think the Tsuyosa is a great watch.
I think Citizen have done a good job here, it looks good and the specs aren't bad at all. I dont really go for integrated warches because I love swapping out straps. If I had to choose one of these i would probably go for the PRX. Great video, many thanks my friend 👍
The quartz Tissot does not provide this beautiful waffel dial the automatic version has. But you can get the 35 mm version. If I had to chose I really would have to see and try both watches before making a decision.
I have a 7.25" wrist and the Tsuyosa is perfect. A 40mm that wears like a 38.5mm. The PRX is a 40mm that wears like a 41.5/42mm. Why should anyone choose to wear a small watch just to accommodate flaws in the overall design? And at double the price for the Powermatic 80 version? No thanks.
The new 35 mm PRX is interesting, but at the price I'm inclined to just buy the Christopher Ward. I have the Citizen and my only complaints are the thickness and weight.
I think they're both beautiful watches. It's all subjective. I recently purchased the "Tiffany Blue" Citizen, and I've had the dark green automatic PRX for a couple if years. The bracelet on the PRX is of higher quality. The bracelet on the citizen just feels thin and cheap unfortunately. Aesthetically i like it though. I also love the polished finish of the Citizen. There is a price point difference in these watches, and in hand you can tell. Both beautiful watches on wrist. I do not regret buying the Citizen, you're getting a lot for a small amount of money.
I bought a yellow dial Tsuyosa and it is stunning. I own a Tissot but not the PRX. I think the PRX is overhyped. There are other integrated bracelet designs that are much better for an extra dollar, like the Aikon from Maurice Lacroix. The cool colors that are on offer, an automatic movement and a decent bracelet for half the price of PRX? I will take it
got this sunday the yellow version, in direct sunlight it looks stunning, althouhpgh mune runs a lil fast, as you said any local watchmaker knows the 8200 series movement by heart, plus i don’t like tissot
Potentially, although I think the steel CW12 isn't anything special. It's a great looking watch don't get me wrong, but it's just another mid range sports watch imo.
I own both and I usually pick the PRX over the Tsuyosa. It wears better with long sleves since the bracelett is thinner. I also don´t like the clasp on the Tsuyosa. It feels cheap and has too much play. I also prefer a watch without the magnifying glass on the date. That doesn´t mean I don´t like the Tsuyosa, it´s a great watch for that money and I usually wear it when it´s warm outside with a bright shirt. I would consider to change the bracelett and the clasp
Bekir Bayraktar. İstanbul, Türkiye.
I'd go for the Citizen. Colours aside, being able to have an automatic movement + sapphire crystal at 300 bucks is the perfect value and quality combination that any decent watchmaker should look into; other than 39mm size. Besides, the PRX is manufactured in CHINA and assembled in Switzerland; so, so much for "swiss made". Just goes to show, that Great Watches don't have to come, with even Greater price tags. Well done, Citizen.
Totally agree. Its just an everyday watch that you dont have to put a battery in it every few years. Sapphire crystal perfect for everyday use at £300. Unbeatable
Got both .... I feel the bracelet is soo much better on the citizen, combined with a superior movement and dial. To my view, the Citizen pisses all over the Tissot.
I hate cyclops magnifiers and the dial on the PRX is way nicer. I agree the plastic part non adjustable movememnt in the PRX is crap. So for myself I'll be buying neither. I'll keep looking I guess.
I love the Citizen tsuyosa but...but the Tissot prx has a 100 meters of water resistance and I think that's the only reason which makes everyone think twice before picking up the tsuyosa with just 50 meters of WR against the prx.
Ummm If this is gonna be your only watch.. take it off before diving perhaps? Or take another watch with you? I do not see the problem here with the water resistance
If I plan on getting in any water, I'm going to wear my Casio Duro anyway. For occasionally getting it wet, 50 meters vs 100 meters is meaningless. No idea why people care so much about this...?
Depends on what colors you like, really. The yellow one is the most striking, but since I absolutely hate yellow as a color, I still went with the green one. The sunburst is a little more subtle than the one on the PRX quartz, but it's still beautiful nonetheless.
Everything about the citizen is a plus, even with the miyota movement because the price is superior. Tissot is a great company but they are way overpricing thier watches right now and it's left a huge space for citizen to step in and dominate.
If you are ready to spend the money for an automatic PRX but you are not completely obsessed with automatic, getting a quarz PRX and a Tsuyosa is probably not a bad move either.
@@TopTierTicker Oh ok, fair enough. I like the colors and the vibe, not so much the execution. Stamped, rattly clasp, 8 series miyota for 400 + bucks. Not for me, although they are fun.
no to the plastic parts movement, swiss made is just a marketing technique nothing to do with quality. not a fan of citizen either with their mall watches, i'll stick to seiko and G-Shocks and real swiss made watches. AVOID whatever is fashionable.
I don't think I would call a presidential looking bracelet being integrated class of bracelets regardless the way it mounts to the case. Nice watch but it's trying to be two things at once not my style 😊
@ True. But with the original PRX Quartz and the Oysterquartz being introduced within a year of each other, given the lead time required to get a watch to market, one has to wonder what actually went on there. If there was industrial espionage, who was doing what to whom? Or was Tissot REALLY QUICK to reproduce?
Just bought myself the baby blue dial Tsuyosa, and it looks stunning. I never saw anything appealing about the PRX.

I just picked up the blue dial. I have a Rolex Subby and wear it constantly, but I'm now wearing this Citizen every other day. Very nice watch.
I'd go with the Tissot PRX automatic (small) if it is almost the same price as the Tsuyosa.

The quartz Tissot does not provide this beautiful waffel dial the automatic version has. But you can get the 35 mm version. If I had to chose I really would have to see and try both watches before making a decision.
35mm looks like a woman's watch, ridiculously small dial and Cass
Having worn both, I bought the Citizen because it fits better on my smaller wrist (16 cm )
Yep! Much more comfortable than the 40mm PRX. Although I do really need to try the 35mm
Why not get the 35mm PRX?
@asvpab 35mm too too small😅
